It's a shame you can't implement polls on GAF. I think it would be closer to split than you think.
Evilore should get on this.

These are effective moments but the stylistic flourishes used to underscore what we already know (Walt is NOT the good guy)...
I would like to point out that this is by no means the universal opinion.
To me, this was the episode where Skyler really started to come into her own as the villain.
I think trying to define characters in BB as "villains," "good guys," etc., is going down the wrong path. I wouldn't even label Gus as a "villain".
The end game should be Walt racing to get his kids back from a clearly-deranged Skyler. The final two shots can be Skyler in a padlocked cell, and Walt and kids on a plane with sunset.jpg.
I'd love this ending just to watch the Amir0x meltdown.
Yeah but you could have a normal ending that makes sense and watch Puddles melt down.

Precisely. Everyone in the entire show has "broke bad". Walt become a drug kingpin. Marie shoplifted. Skyler helped cook the books for Ted and launder money. Hank beat the shit out of suspect. Even outside of the really bad characters (Tuco, Crazy 8, Gus) everyone has done something questionable at some point.

I feel like it's a really weird thing that you just put them all on the same level like that. Like shoplifting and cooking the books are some kind of heinous crime.
I think the idea that the show was going to be about a bunch of people who all go bad somehow was abandoned pretty early on in the run, personally. The show is now very much about Walt's break, not the shoplifting that's barely been mentioned for 4 years.
Even Brock messed up. He was playing Sonic 2006.
Walt? Season 5 Walt literally has no redeeming qualities right now. Such an amazing transformation from the first episode where he kicks a guy in the leg for making fun of his son's disability to now where he's poisoning kids, planting bombs in old folks homes and putting his family's life at risk.
I think what makes Walt interesting though is that at this point, he has no redeeming qualities.
Skylar was desperate and tried to do something crazy to save the children.
Hank by all measure is a pretty good guy.
Jesse is usually the most reluctant to kill people.
Even the crazy lady who works at Madrigal is protective of her children.

The one thing that should have gotten through to Walt is Skyler going to insane means to get the kids away from him. But even that doesn't register. Walt is an uncontrollable, lost, blind creature, with a malignant influence on everyone and everything around him. Cancer personified.
I think it registered, he just can't see any danger at the moment. As far as he's concerned Gus was it, he's dead, they're safe. He doesn't know about Madrigal. He doesn't know what Mike is doing behind the scenes. He has no idea how the DEA investigation is going. He's basing his decisions on pretty much no information when traditionally he has had a fair idea what is going on. And of course he's wrong. Anybody could turn on him and his little business in a heartbeat and he's back to square one. It's just a matter of time. The one thing that should have gotten through to Walt is Skyler going to insane means to get the kids away from him. But even that doesn't register.
