pick even scummier heroes like naga or furion

Tried using Naga before, but she was a bit hard to use. Any tips?

Haven't used furion/nature's prophet though. Recommended for a noob to use?

I honestly think Tinker is the best hero in the game, picking him is such a huge advantage for your team.

I posted about how imba he is in the OP characters thread a few weeks back but no one listened to me.

Is this why he's almost always banned in games, next to invoker? Have yet to see a good Tinker in action though.

How do you counter KotL? He just sits there and spams his horses and it takes everyone in the lane down to half health with no friendly creeps.

Need some help with KotL too. I've learned to move to the sides whenever I hear the hiss of the spell approaching, but it doesn't seem like the most efficient way.

This. Oh, the KotLs I have pissed off with it.

This is even more hilarious.

Well KotL is squishy, so if you can gank him all the better. I don't know what I would say a particular counter is. Facing off against him in the hard lane is annoying as fuck since there's less room to dodge on your side. Particularly at bottom for Dire.

Ganking KoTL definitely seems to be the most efficient method. The cast range on mana leak isn't high at level 1, and he won't be sinking a lot of levels into it early on for need of getting Illuminate and Chakra Magic into free spam range as early as possible. So if you get the right positioning, he won't be able to reliably save himself from the disables. Even if you get leaked, you'll probably be close enough to throw your stun (without being stunned in turn) and can begin pounding him with autoattacks.

Some guys cried so much because of this Tinker on my team the other day it was hilarious.

Ironic since Tinker is the least fun hero in the game.

Kinda glad I don't have a Vintage Immortal thingy, even though I like Void.

I get enough annoying spam based on my TF2 items, I can't imagine would it would be like with one of these.

Also, I think it sets a bad precedent. Doing something frowned upon can give birth to new, ultra-sought after items? Not too sure about that.

I had 3 of them because they were duplicates and gave them away for the most part. I have 1 left (this was before they turned vintage though) :(

I've had a LOT of fun playing a series of matches with my friends the other day. Even when we'd lose, we'd have a lot of laughs and work together, and it'd usually be a close call.

But my god, these randoms.

Just these last couple games, I had one team with three carries and a Tidehunter that asked, "What does leveling do?" Which that's fine, but then we're matched up against a team that is clearly more experienced (for example, an Invoker pulling off spells with ease) and actually planned a comp. And then I get on a team with, for example, a player that randoms Wisp and yells at me when I suggest he should try supporting the team (and not try to solo), and a Night Stalker that calls me a noob for using voice chat.

I think I'm nearing my 50th game, and I keep wondering how long these experiences are going to last. Half the time I'm questioning if I'm being reported for "being bad" in previous games, or am otherwise being put into pools with jerks and new players. Which that's fine, but why can't both sides be equally matched in that regard? Because I can only do about one match a night at most, it's hard for me to justify the time investment when it feels like the experience is a slot machine of players and teams.

At this point, I think I'm going to quit playing unless it's with my friends. I just don't seem to get anything out of the randoms... /rant

If you have a wand you can usually tell when he's charging up if you watch the counter. He has to be in range though. Its useful for when you're in suicide lane and he's hiding in the fog.

~900 people are currently watching the mouz vs CLG on DotaTV. That's $4500 alone in revenue. I really wish some tournament organizers would divulge if DotaTV is making them loadsamoney, but I guess they probably don't want to get sued by Valve. :I

I'm wayyy past my 100th game, almost 160th at this point but recently things have been getting better for me. I get a party of 2 or 3 on my team and that extra communication really helps, the other day I ended up on a team where my 4 teammates were all on LAN. Halfway through they disconnected leaving just me and it was really funny, they came back a minute later though and we ended up winning.

I played shadow shamen in both of those games, I kept getting ganked too but we still end up winning, gonna play this hero some more.

The worst is when you're doing something right, or at least not too terribly (and even if you are) and some other guy who's doing equally or worse is just flaming and saying to report you.

Even when my team is doing poorly, I never tell people to report anyone unless they're blatantly AFK or something. It's just sort of rude. Hopefully one day the karma will bite these people back and they'll get stuck in low priority. Unknowing text chat muting (ala some other games, usually with voice) might be another nice punishment.

The Defense 2 final in 15 mins! Mouz vs Complexity! SYND CO CASTING! BEST OF 5!

I hope Col wins 2 (1?) in a row and then Mouz drafts AM for Black who carries them for a 3-2 victory. The Fun Ends Here.

I've started playing brood mother a lot more. It seems she is ignored frequently, but with solo suicide and tri-lanes popular right now she is the perfect hero to slow push a lane.
