I think what hes asking is wouldn't they be stealing diluted methlymine since they were pouring in water as they were pumping it out? Im guessing the answer is that the water would stay at the top due to different densities or something? Not a science guy though, and that seems weird considering that they said the methlymine was water based.

they didn't start the water right away, the speed with which the water moved through the methlymine allowed them to pull from the bottom and get the good stuff.

When Walt bugged Hank's office it had me thinking, "wow, this might be how he goes down". But then I though perhaps Hank would interview someone with a shady history in his office and assume it was them not Walt. But then again, why would he interview that type of person in his office?? Plus with how many episodes left, they can only dodge this plot point for so long.

stupid question but does hank & marie have kids?

For now they do. But otherwise, no.

'Marie' Actress Betsy Brandt:

Why don’t Hank and Marie have kids?

I want to know too! I’m fine with them not. But this is one of the things I love about Breaking Bad: The things we don’t say, we deal with them without straight-on dealing with them. It will be addressed, but not directly addressed, in an upcoming episode.

Methylamine is a gas, I assume that in the show they are using the standard 40/60% ratio of CH3NH2 to H20. However, Methylamine is less dense that water, so in adding water, the water would tend to go to the bottom until fully mixed. But in such a large container as a railcar, the water mixing and moving to the bottom would not be that noticeable right away.

Go here and order yourself some Methylamine solution 40 wt. % in H2O.

Time to cook some meth.

You know what, I probably could. Its something to consider if my scientist career doesn't pan out.

Walt is my role model.

Why doesn't Walt just make his own Methylamine like the cartel did? or are the chemicals needed to even make that hard to come by?

this has got to be the most beautifully shot breaking bad episode.

for example, that shot with walt his hat on standing on the tracks was gorgeous.

The directing in this episode really made up for last weeks lackluster director.

I rewatched that episode recently. It wasn't their own Methylamine the cartel was making but some acid (whose name I forget) they use in the cook.

Just watched it. The scene at the beginning with Lydia handcuffed to the table was really great. One particular shot of the three of them with Walt's face covered in shadow looked fuckin' badass.

Dat train-robbing, black-hatted villain. Series might as well end with a duel against Hank at high noon.

Talking about directors; next episode was directed by Colin Bucksey. These are the previous episodes he worked on:

2.12 Phoenix

3.08 I See You

4.04 Bullet Points

I sensed a little bit of tension perhaps in the scene where Hank and Marie were playing with the baby.

My guess would be some sort of infertility but idk. Maybe Marie is infertile, and that has aggravated/caused her mental problems.

- As a side note, though I really thought I had decide I want Hank to 'win' against Walt, I did get a slight buzz when Walk expertly tricked Hank in the Police Station. That has not happened for a while.

Does anyone else find the scenes where Walt is all 'Crime boss' really awkward and forced. I assume this is intentional, but then people go on about how he is so 'badass', and to me he is just a cu twa wanker. When he said to Skyler that she had been watching too many movies, really he is basing everything he does off the urge to become this movie persona, Heisenberg.

Hank did make a joke about not giving Holly back. =-O

Correct. Phenylacetic acid was what they were talking about synthesizing.

And, I must echo in agreement that the directing in this week's episode was superb.

I finished the last ep, now. Couldn't see it yesterday and HOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHIT!!

Is it bad, that I worried more about the trapped spider? :(

How does even Rian Johnson have haters? I understand Nolan, Fincher etc. But Johnson?
The guy who has made 2 indie movies hardly anyone has seen? WTF internet.

His directing style is noticeable, and it takes you out of the movie/show.
That's the problem I have with him.
Last weeks episode was terrible. So many jarring moments.
Lydia literally walks towards the camera into a close up, twice within 10 seconds.
Three cuts of someone zipping up a bag.
Awful.
What's funny is I enjoyed Brick a lot, and never noticed anything wrong with it. But last weeks episode there was a ton of stuff.

Thinking back to earlier in the seasons Jesse's agony in that ending scene was painful to watch. Such as...

1) When he visits his kid brother he seemed pretty concerned about him
2) That poor kid he rescued from those crackhead's home
3) Befriending Brock and the whole poisoning thing.

This kid getting shot flat out destroyed him. Things are gonna get stressful.

One of my favorite episodes so far but why would walt plant the bug without gloves? his fingerprints are all over them, in hank's office
