I'm happy to announce two upcoming...
GAFGuild Mumble Meet & Greet Events!
Here's another opportunity for everyone to hop on Mumble and get to know their future guildmates before launch. Even if you don't have a microphone, you can still participate since Mumble has a chat window. If you don't want to speak up, that's fine too; talking is not mandatory and you're welcome to just log in and listen (keep the creepy stalker breathing to a minimum though).
The first event will be held this Friday at 10PM Eastern (7PM Pacific, 2am GMT) and run until people leave. This is an hour later than the previous event since a few people on the West Coast were getting home from work and not having time to have dinner or relax.
The second event will be our Mega-Awesome Pre-Launch Super-Countdown Festival of Hype, and will begin on Friday, August 25th at Midnight (9PM on the 24th Pacific, 4am GMT) and run for 3 hours. At this point, the game launches and everyone officially has license to freak out. This event is strictly B.Y.O.K (Bring Your Own Kool-Aid).

Yeah that was me. Thanks for the info; on the topic the other final question I had about downed state was whether stealth would prevent a stomp that is in progress, and it turns out the answer is yes.
2am though.
Tried to find the most ideal times for as many as I could. We pushed it an hour back from the last event because it was too early for a lot of west coast GAFers.
Never mind, it's a Friday at least and I'm sure mumble will be crammed next week at 6am on the Saturday when the servers open! I'm sure we'll all be on then!

Nothing has changed, Gandara is still the EU server for GAF. If people want to risk running on an NA server, that's up to them, but ArenaNet has said that they didn't allow international WvW because of latency issues. Your millage may vary.
Just confirming I had to do a format and lost the text file holding the server to join at launch.

Gandara eh? Lot of ex YU guilds are going there, even mine is considering but since Gandara is like 3rd biggest EU server I'm trying to get us to some other bit smaller server but I don't know, I don't want to have huge WvWvW queues on biggest servers.

Ive ragged on Mesmer quite a bit (was actually THE class i was first interested in), but Im seriously considering making it my 5th character.

Definitely a lack of caster classes. So might be good if i spice things up a bit and go with a caster as the 5th. I didnt realy like the elementalist, and with necro was fun, I can see it getting a bit boring since its pretty much minions and conditions

I won't lie. That speech makes me laugh each time I see it pop up somewhere.
More importantly, I was going to finish up Stargate SG-1 on Netflix and they TOOK IT DOWN! It's not available by streaming anymore. The last season!
Anywho, are there going to be many Warriors that understand the game in detail regarding PVP? I need to find out who my mentor will be and start baking cakes and cookies for them.

What is up with crystal desert server...it was always full...are there some popular guilds there or what?
Team Legacy is there and it's the official BR? server.

- Friday 9pm-12am : Spam login attempts to get my names locked.
- After Login : Play some all nighter gaming action
- 8am Saturday : Shower, get dressed, pack luggage
- 11am Saturday : Board a plan to Vegas
- Sat-Mon : Live it up in Vegas
- Monday night into Tuesday all day : Gaming it up in GW2 again.
Well, Team Legacy was there for the beta anyway. They have said they are switching servers for launch, but they aren't going to publicly announce which one.
It will be interesting though, with Team Legacy and possibly other massive communities shifting servers for the launch, to see how the server distibution shakes out. Will their previous home servers end up low population, with only people who didn't get the memo, or people who choose a server at random ending up there? Will some of the larger communities accidentally end up on the same server, and prevent each other from playing WvW?
However it turns out, I hope they end up steering clear of our server.

Im mostly going to PvE. Everyone will be different. We arent a focused guild or community. If there is something you like doing it and want to do that in a group with a guildy, I am sure there will be a few on that will be interested
probably a bit of both, though I mostly tend towards PvE. Still of yet to try WvW, but I was fairly solo the last few stress tests and BWEs.
There will be lots doing PVE. I'm the sort that does everything.
I guess to clarify my earlier response, you don't need to save your game in a MMO. It's all kept and saved by ANet. If you die, then your armor takes a bit of damage and you respawn from one of the many waypoints. You don't lose experience or gear.
I prefer PvE myself. even though this is my first time owning an MMO ive played some on friends accounts. well i cant preorder it so when i get it maybe us PvEers can meet up and work together.

Geez, that was a long download. Almost twenty-eight hours nonstop. :O
There definitely will be a lot of opportunities for PVE meetups. I myself will be focusing on PVE primarily, but WvW is a ton of fun as well, so I will play that quite a bit as well. I might do a little structured PVP, but so far that hasn't drawn me in as much as the other modes

We also have a website at www.gafguild.com which is basically just a guild forum, but there will be announcements and events planned there (there are already a few people trying to coordinate group PVE meetups).

wow, just got a 12k file update...
The armor skins are. You can get dyes and bags from pvp treasure chests that you can use anywhere.

Yeah, I work. I also need to get four more GW1 achievements for 30/50, so I'll be concentrating on that for a little while too.
