This is very weird, this is "the first innocent dead on Walt's account"? I see this as one of the few deaths where Walt wasn't involved in.
I despise Walt as the next guy, but how can you blame this on him? Todd pulled the trigger and Jesse and Mike instructed him that he had to do this and that, if anything, this is the first one that Walt had little or nothing to do with.

It's pretty simple really. That kid was the first person to die who was completely innocent, completely unrelated to the business and who also died as a direct result of one of Walt's operations.

Whether Walt caused Jane's death is a long and tedious argument. The deaths of the airplane people were, at best, indirectly caused by Walt; there are several degrees of separation between his actions and their deaths.

Everyone else who has died as a result of Walt's meth business was not an innocent. You have Emilio and Crazy 8, Tuco, the two street-level dealers, Gale, Hector, and Gus. Every one of those kills was justified.

This kid's death crossed a boundary. A completely unrelated, completely innocent person is dead at the hands of one of Walt's direct employees. That's new ground for this show, unless you really want to argue that Walt was personally responsible for Jane's death. Either way, there's a world of difference between Jane and this kid. The direct cause of Jane's death was the heroin she injected into herself. This kid was just riding a dirt bike.

Dexter Season 1 is actually really, really good.

If that had been a one-off and had just stopped right there, it would be considered a classic.

The problem was that they could NEVER top that first season, because, without spoiling anything, it used the best possible plot devices available with that scenario and set of characters.

There was nowhere to go but down after Season 1.

Since Hank thinks that Heisenberg is German, the Madrigal connection must be dominating his line of thinking right now. That might be part of what's keeping him from putting two and two together on Walt.

Walt in Hank's office WAS a very odd instance of a means to an end storytelling. In a show where basically everything happens methodically, that scene felt so... circumstantial. It was a bad scene. Other than that, it was pretty typical Breaking Bad. A little bit too good to be true but overall, it was Breaking Bad. Felt like Season 1 ish.

Agreed. Season 1 was great TV, so I checked out Season 2 and it was crash, and from everything I've read it only gets much much worse. Never watched anything past 2, but my strong opinion on it sucking AFAIK was a source of arguments between me and my ex haha. Weeds is another show that should've ended much much sooner, after Season 3 at the latest.

You guys are wrong about Dexter. Season 4 is fucking god tier. Trinity Killer yo.

This is actually a myth. Viewers forget that the Trinity Killer stuff, while very good, was only about half of the season. The other half was whatever stupid stories were going on outside of that, and they were horrible. So as a whole, season 4 can only be kind of OK at best.

for real

I just want to say that this season has been great for the most part. I am disappointed in how they are handling Walt. He is just so straight up bad now. He does not have the depth that he once did to make me route for the guy. They could kill him tomorrow and I would be happy to watch the rest of the characters.

.. because he IS a bad person now? how else would they handle him lol

You'll be putting Walt on your Ignore list, then?

I feel like they didn't want to cheat following the Crawl Space breakdown. I respect them for going all the way with it this season.

Hey one good thing Walt did was turn Jesse into a more mature man.

If it wasn't for Walt, Jesse would still be fucking around, getting high, doing jack shit with his time. Now he's a MAN.

I just started watching BB a few weeks ago and just caught up to where it's at...holy fuck at the entire train scene. I have no idea how I'll be able to cope with the weekly wait after marathoning it like this.

Also, I'm spreading Jesse cheer.
