They promised him a flight, tournament entrance and hotel accommodation. When he got to the west coast, they didn't have the hotel reservation. He was basically stranded with no place to stay. Luckily, a west coast player let him stay at their house.

Some more info about the person who runs Revelation. Someone also posted this in there:

so Haz (guy running the stream) just got on and said kof players demanded the prize pot be handed to a 3rd party before they'd play in the tournament. tournament organisers said they didnt have the cash (could quite easily be true) so kof players went home. good on those guys for sticking to their guns

Yeah Haz just got on the Hazmat stream and said that he saw (with his own eyes!) that the KoF community banded together and said put the pot in (some KoF player they all trusted)'s hand and we'll all play. The TO didn't, so they decided not to play and everyone went home. I guess that's what The Answer meant by that it was the community's decision.

Haz also noted the TO doesn't pay in cash, and that's standard. And that there is a bunch of paperwork and stuff being the reason he doesn't.

I didn't get the hate the water temple got either(it's more confusing than hard), Zelda 2's death mountain does honor its name and it makes water temple look like a walk in the park.
