Lords of The Fallen II will be Announced August 19

I am peeved it is going to be an Epic Store exclusive and hope they update the recent release to be less cryptic. I should not have to read an FAQ to have the privilege to use a boss weapon special.

While the 2014 release is underwhelming, the 2023 release puts to shame even FromSoft titles in many regards. In no world are Wuchang and Khazan on even footing with any worthwhile soulslike.
DIfferent strokes. I hated both 2014 and 2024 and loved lies of p, wuchang and khazan

Couldnt care less about LoTF2. Mortal Shell 2 looks sick though

By the way, lately they've been doing a video series about LotF, and in one of the latest episodes they talked about this new game and showed some artworks from it:

Great! Its a classic Souls Like .. loved the first game.. and if From continues with the Elden Ring dogshit path Im more than happy to divert my attention to this game...

You have to be insane to make EGS deals in 2025 lol

RIP PC version
In this specific case, rather than an exclusivity deal for EGS, it seems like the situation is similar to that of Alan Wake II - without Epic the game would not have been made. Better that than no game at all, I reckon.

I honestly liked it more than any of the Fromsoft games (except for Sekiro). Controls were better, graphics are better, and there's actual storytelling with cutscenes.

Did not particularly like Lords of the Fallen that much when I played it, gave it a 2/5 or 2.5/5. Hope the sequel improves a lot. It sure has to for me to play it atleast.

Ah, so something else I don't care for, lmao. I would've been happier with anything else.

I was initially curious about the first game, until I heard/saw it wasn't that great. Then their CEO being so vocal on social media about stuff didn't make me want to check it out either. Even after all their "changes and improvements". Just didn't feel worth the time regardless.

I really don't think EGS is the right move, but hey, it's not my studio/project, lol.

The 2023 game was awesome. Atmosphere, graphics, level design, combat... It was like Dark Souls 4 for me. Releasing with a terrible 1.0 version made the game come across as a cheap Souls knockoff(which I initially thought as well), and even here there are still plenty of people who approach it with prejudice. People who played it after the updates(>=1.7) probably loved it too. Lamp mechanic felt weird at first, but I liked it because it really enriched the gameplay(especially in combat). I'm pretty excited for this one too. They just need to throw in more enemy types and weapon movesets. Would be nice if they made the camera rotation faster by default — I bumped it up myself and it basically felt like a Souls game.

Funny how Geoff tried to keep it secret, and then the director just came out and spilled the beans. I guess he wanted to avoid a big letdown after those Bloodborne 2 rumors. It was pretty interesting.

I purchased both games but they need to work on animations and world design along with rewarding features. The enemy variety is lacking in both games.

The updated Lords of the Fallen was a great soulslike. Momentum faltered toward the end, but really excellent art design, tone, and tech.

Day one for this one, likely.

they should really keep this one in the over tad longer to avoid the disaster that was LOTF 2023 at launch. The game is the benchark of post release support so I expect the sequel to be no different.

This game will come to Steam eventually. Probably developers regretted the decision to be financed by Epic but they already made the agreement.

I'm saying this because the players surged the game on Steam after removing of body type shit from the game. And after each update players really played the game and supported the devs. That's why after seeing this much support, devs probably regretting the Epic exclusive agreement.

By the way for the people who don't know. 2023 LotF price reduced permanently on Steam in previous weeks. FYI.

Total Souls Fatigue. I just can't be bothered with the format any more, I even burned out on From's own games. Elden Ring felt like the end of putting gazillions of hours into these games for me. Even on Gamepass I couldn't find it in myself to get very far through Lords of the Fallen, it was just…why bother? Seen it all before and nothing ever even vaguely compared to the glory of the original Dark Souls.

Come up with something new. Be creative. Stop iterating.
Sounds like it's about that time to fix your algorithm, go check out different genres, or take a break.

Hundreds of games in other genres per year. You like shooters? Platformers? Maybe JRPG?

Pure overweight in that game

The second picture is the only one that has anything to do with Lords of the Fallen (2023) and that giant is the person with the biggest stature in the whole game. The other images are from the 2014 release as is the video. Here is the typical male body type in 2023 release:

As someone that played the first two games at launch and love souls games... I am just hoping for the best.

The first game is just terrible, the newer version was a lot better at launch, but still overall a bad game... After a shit ton of updates it got better, but still sucks.

Even though I think both games suck, I didn't hate them and I think a third one have a lot of potential.

I hope they improve the combat, animations and have a better multiplayer mode. Having only 2 player coop + 1 invasor was weird.

This is the third/fourth game.
Do these sell well enough to warrant a teaser?

I remember the first first one was a Games with Gold game......and i didnt like it.
Was the last one any good?
They sell a couple of million. With the right small team, and smart marketing they can make good profit without having to sell 5 million just to break even.

I swear months and months ago when they announced Epic would be partially funding the sequel I was hoping they wouldn't have the cheek to make it exclusive, and here we are. All that support on Steam must've meant nothing to them, apart from helping them make a sequel of course.

This for me is way more gross than being exclusive from the off versus putting a sequel as an exclusive. I know it's not as bad as say Bayonetta for example as it went hardware exclusive, but it is so dumb.

I quite liked the game (even the first one, weirdly) but I don't like it enough to see the Epic launcher or have a transaction on my bank from them.
Fuck these dudes. Its a slap in the face to folks who supported them. Goodluck selling more than 100k on epic store.

Hmmm, are they really bringing back the lamp/lantern mechanic? Not a fan. Well, that was just one of the many things I didn't like with the game.
That was kind of its "thing" other than being a lesser dark souls. Maybe they won't make the lantern as big of a part?

Link doesn't seem to work above so here is another video.

I still haven't watched this trailer or read up on it. That's how much I loathe the last game…

That said I'll watch this later today because the credit I can give this dev is they kept updating their game a lot after release. That shows passion to the game and their players.

If the stupid lamp is gone, and combat is improved then there's hope for even a hater like me to pick it up.

Reveal trailer altho ofc cgi looked solid, so waiting for proper gameplay trailer but cautiously optimistic so far :)
Knowing company/CEO is based and we wont get any wokeness/dei is big plus too :D

I like a lot of the art, much like I did the first game. But there's just something about it that just turned me off. I'm definitely curious to see gameplay here. Even if I feel like the CEO went a little too ham on social media about "controversial talking points" rather than just straight up making the previous game better. I'd have more respect for the dude and studio if he just STFU and made his changes and improvements. Rather than seeking attention and validation for every little adjustment that was made.

But whatever, if the game is good the game is good. Hopefully they've learned from the previous game and made significant improvements.

U just feel like CEO went hard on woke shittards only coz most other CEO's are afraid to say anything and already surrendered to that mob(or are literally part of it- even worse), this CEO knows where the money is- and spoilers, its not with transformers/alphabet ppl/feminists etc, its with us, hetero males- we are stagging majority who loves that kind of brutal gory unforgiven games, and if game is good enough to convince us to buy it- it will bring decent profit ;)
