So me >>> All of you :P

I have more GW2 than anyone else muahahahaha

Stormbluff is pretty close to Henge. Not sure how good that is.

Think of it this way...how many of us even voted on that poll? We would add hundreds of people to it had we did, then factor in others who didn't vote, people who will roll there at random come launch. These polls are never indicative of anything really.

Very true, just a thought.

Really? 500 seems like a massive guild to me

The GAF TERA guild capped at 300 people and within a week and a half of the game's launch we had already populated the entire thing and had to start kicking inactive characters. That game wasn't NEARLY as big as GW2 will be, so there's that.

But then, alts were also counted into that count and I don't believe they're counted in GW2, so who knows where the number might balance out. But my guess is the GAF guild will fill up sooner rather than later.

Hopefully the first story events arent such a mad confusing rush for humans as they were in the first BWE lol. I had no idea what was going on, then centaurs came and a huge earth/wind elemental outta nowhere.

My name is tastier than yours

Also, any profession can be a specced as a support character. Warriors and THFs can be support characters. So I definitely wouldnt choose a profession based on that. Id pick a class that you like the mechanics of, or, since you ahvent played yet, sound interesting to you

Piecake sounds like a (delicious) abomination.

I've seen the other classes and the only other one I would consider playing is an engineering but one my real life buddies has decided to play that so I just stuck with Guardian. Something about swinging a giant mallet around and watching your enemies fly back just looks and feels so satisfying.

Counting alts is a pretty huge difference. 300 accounts compared to 300 characters is simply huge since those 300 characters could only actually be like 100 or so accounts

Anyone with GuildWars 1 willing to guide me through some HoM stuff in preparation for GW2 ?

I have a level20 elementalist /ranger and I haven't played in like 2years, no clue what to do or even how to play anymore :P

PM for infos or quote to see character name !

Yeah exactly, if we all created an alt, we would easily have 500+ in the guild. To see 250+ unique people in the guild is pretty awesome. That's not even counting friends of GAF members which will have us grow even more.

The guilds are account based, not character based so it doesn't matter how many characters each person makes. 500 unique accounts is a lot.

Yeah that's exactly my point, since it does not matter how many alts we make, the fact that we have that many unique players is crazy.

Anyone mind linking me to the Gaf Guild site, and any general information on crafting? Besides depositing materials I didn't really bother with crafting during any of the beta.

Thanks.

I think it'll be interesting to see if/how fast the GAF guild fills up. I don't think that it's crazy, we're a very large community and when you start adding on friends and family of GAF users, that adds up quickly.

Yeah I was thinking about how quickly the Tera guild filled up. It might take a while for the GAF guild to even be able to allow 500 people since it costs several gold. With GAFfers, friends of GAFfers and lurkers, I just feel that it's going to be a race to get in.

youre forgetting about the 3 day head start though. We should be at 200 pretty much instantly. I think 400 is definitely doable by the actual launch so long as everyone pitches in a few silver.

If everyone prepurchased we might have a problem, but if thats the case im sure there are some that wouldnt mind waiting a bit. Hell, I wouldnt really mind if i had to wait a few days to get an invite

Nah, I gathered 3g in 2 days during BWE2 alone so I'm not really worried when the current amount to max out a guild is less than 5g.

The collection of all members (who are willing to donate to the guild) should mean we can cap it out within a day or two at most, likely.

The more betas you've been in the larger your file size due to excess garbage files in the dat.

Will there ever be a way to clear said garbage files other than redownloading the entire game? Cause I could see those building up in retail over time too =/.

Don't know for sure, but it's technically possible. I'm not sure if they have the infrastructure to do it now though, and they're in crunch period and a client with a few gigs of extra data is the least of their concerns.

Remember when you were a kid and you had school for five days before the weekend? And that's when you got to go get a new game and spend all weekend playing it?

5 days left.

Sorry to be an ass, but 5d 23h 53m is 5 days as much as 59 minutes is 0 hours.

Hey guys, I've been looking but can't find a definite answer for this so maybe you can help me out.

A few days ago I pre-ordered GW2 without knowing the difference between pre-order and pre-purchase. So I got home, made my account, and redeemed my pre-order code. But now I want to pre-purchase the game in order to get the 3-day headstart. If I went back to GameStop and paid for the game in full and received a new code, is there any way I could upgrade my account status from pre-order to pre-purchase? Or would I have to create a new account completely?

If GameStop will let you, upgrade to the prepurchase.

If they won't, you can cancel the preorder and just prepurchase directly from guildwars2.com.

f you are a Pre-Order customer, you can pre-purchase Guild Wars 2 from our store or from an approved retailer. If you have already registered your Guild Wars 2 Pre-Order account, you can upgrade your account at register.guildwars2.com. To link your Pre-Purchase serial code to your existing account, just enter your new serial code in the field, click "Yes" under "Do you have a Guild Wars account?" and follow the steps from there. For a list of approved retailers, go here.

I pre-ordered the game before April 10th. Can I change that to a Pre-Purchase?
The official Guild Wars 2 Pre-Purchase program began on our website and through our authorized retailers on April 10, 2012. If you pre-ordered the game before April 10th, you will need to work with that retailer to determine if your pre-order will be converted to an official Guild Wars 2 Pre-Purchase

I think it really depends if GameStop has the codes. If they do still have codes then it really is no problem because you just pay it off and they print you a new receipt with the proper code. You just need to ask them if they still have the 3-day head start codes because if not, you will most likely have to cancel and go for the Guild Wars 2 website (This is unless there is some voodoo allowing you to use the GameStop receipt code with the GW2 store to upgrade it which I would doubt).

I know this because I had to go through it myself.

Ah, thanks everyone. I looked at the FAQ but totally, uh, missed that part. Whoops. But yeah my GameStop's still got codes so guess I'll go pre-purchase tomorrow then :)

Do all those 16GB DAT files mean that I can delete my 40 GB GW2.exe? edit: Now I copied it to another directory and it's 20MB o.o I'm getting old.
