Guild Wars 2 Launch Date announced: August 28th, 2012

People need to follow the SA method of making OTs. Instead of making it look like PR, at least make it funny, and put some helpful starting strategies into it.

As in I can light myself on fire and then throw a fireball at the enemy or breathe fire like a dragon torch.

what? like a buddhist protest?

To be honest I'm finding the abuse of Happy Bear a bit unbearable.

Evilore's two Dragon Age OTs were clearly the best.

I agree.

Also, I really think the OT should be kept to one post and not graphically heavy. I messed mine up pretty hard. However, from what I heard from Jira, it should only be one post.

"Kind of sad to hear that, since my favorite role in MMOs has always been the pure healer."

Unfortunately, this is not the game for you unless you don't mind playing roles you don't like as much.

I was messing about with Guardian in a previous WvW game, and while it wasn't 100% constant healer it did feel good that most of the abilities provided a heal for those around you.

I really liked that about the Guardian, i was healing people but i didn't have to drop out of the action to do it, and was doing damage all the while. I'm definitely rolling as one for my alts.

There's nothing like a traditional healer or tank in the game. I guess you can traditionally DPS, but you likely will add support or control even by doing that, since attack skills are designed to function for more than one singular purpose.

I do think there's more to healing than the whack a mole design. It does have to do with helping others and keeping an army going rather than just repeatedly casting heal spells. This may be due to me playing a Druid healer and being used to performing multiple roles while leveling up.

I've been watching some videos, and it seems like I might have some fun with guardian.

I think one of the most outstanding parts of this game and what sets it apart, is that you could remove every element of "Massively multiplayer" and it would still be worth the price. I've found there is very little of the typical grind fest you get with MMO's and the leveling experience is actually very diverse considering the vast amount of different types of objectives/quests available.

I was on the fence about whether or not I'd actually buy this game for a long time because typically I don't enjoy the MMO experience, but I've got to say I am now incredibly hyped for it.

While not a healer you can definitely support your allies as one! I'm tempted to call it a very versatile class, but I think that describes every class.

No holy trinity is one of the best things about this game, I usually play mmo's with 3 close friends and we don't like to play healer, so we always spend to much time trying to find one. Now we can just pick up any random as long as hes decent and be on our way :D

Seems that most people don't like playing healer, so I'm sure that it'll work out much better for most people. I've always been weird I guess.

I've always felt that there should be something more to healing in the games I've played. I did enjoy Paladin in WoW as I could do other things while trying to heal in Vanilla (even if my team mates didn't like the last minute saves!).

Think I'll try out Necromancer tonight as that's the only class I haven't really given a chance. Hopefully I don't like it as I don't want to spend £25.50 on 3 new character slots. :\

how many character slots do you start with? I haven't gotten into any beta events.

I always loved playing Healer, but can't imagine it anymore now. All that staring on green bars o.o

The reason for liking it I guess isn't really the mechanics but the feeling to actually contribute a lot to the group, which now everyone can do.

I love filling bars :<

Hey! Playing whack-a-mole majority of the time with HoT's was actually kind of fun. I could never play a straight healer though.

I don't know how, but I've managed to hype the crap out of myself for the OT... I think im just excited to have a more official place to post!

If I can ask, if you see the OT as soon as it's up, don't reply just yet. We're trying to reserve that second post for the Guild info and community info. So hold off on trying to be "FIRST" lol

I love good healers, but hate playing as one. It's dangerously close to being a skinner box.

Got tired of healing once I realized randoms think having a healer makes them invincible. After the 100th guy stood in the fire in Hutball I was done. I CAN KEEP YOU ALIVE WHILE RUNNING THROUGH SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE INSTANT DEATH BUT YOU ARE TOO DUMB TO BE WORTH IT! UGH!

The great thing about GW2 is that everyone is accountable!
