Much appreciated.

#4: Marc Andreyko's Manhunter
#3: Joe Hill's Locke and Key
#2: Brian K. Vaughan's Ex Machina/Y: The Last Man
#1: Garth Ennis' Preacher

Graphic Novels:
#5: Charles Burns' Black Hole
#4: Craig Thompson's Habibi
#3: Díaz Canales' Blacksad
#2: Fábio Moon's Daytripper
#1: Howard Cruse's Stuck Rubber Baby

When you said superficial things I assumed you were referring to things like collections; I don't classify tastes in media as being superficial. I'm positive you aren't the only gay person out there with those same interests, and if they're superficial by your own admission, why does it matter? If I were to go down the list myself, I equally enjoy Madonna and hip-hop, musicals and action movies, I dislike both celebrities and cars, but am neutral to sports, and I don't like anything past the first season of Gossip Girl nor any of Family Guy.

No, I don't like any of the stuff I mentioned (except some hiphop but that was really just an example). But like I said, they were just examples so no need to dissect my post like that. I'm just saying I'd rather be with someone with interests that are a bit more manly than musicals, gossip girl and many other things like that.

Btw I don't quite understand why you keep interpreting my posts like I think there are no gay guys with "manly" interests. I just said I have trouble finding them, that's all.

Much appreciated.

And ofcourse, other than Planetary, I havent read anything else on your list.

Madonna is one of the reasons I can get plenty of success elsewhere, so back off.

I do not understand this insinuation.

Gossip Girl vs family guy

Family Guy is awful. Your straight friends should watch better shows. Also, I have no idea what Gossip Girl is.

Musicals vs action movies

How can someone not like a good action movie? Also, can we now make this thread about the death of the action genre?

The problem I'm having with your posts is that it sounds like you're being really close-minded. A lot of people in this thread have interests that are more in line with the first set of interests you listed, and if I may say so, Gay-GAF is filled with a lot of cool, attractive people. I don't think you're giving people the chance they deserve, and despite your complaints about meeting a lot of shallow gay people, it sounds like you're being shallow yourself.

And ofcourse, other than Planetary, I havent read anything else on your list.
You need to read Preacher. Everybody needs to read Preacher. We'll meet at the border and swap boxes of comics.

I do not understand this insinuation.
I'm referring to your own post.

Thanks for the advice to those who responded. Yeah, I'm pretty sure a future with this guy is toast. Gonna let it stew for a week to see where my head's at in 7 days; gonna be a really really busy week anyway.

I wasn't offended in the least! Let's not start the apology train, or we'll be here all day.

Yesssss.

Sorry, totally reminded me of this. ^^^

Come over after you shave and Dany and I will give you your hair back ala Calvin & Hobbes (
draw it back on, in a different color, with magic marker :)
).

Just get a hat, man. Hats are rad.

I don't like the magic marker idea but you can shave my head if you want, haha.

20$ says you'll look f'n awesome bald.

i recently saw a study about the positive perception effects of someone being bald. it was quite interesting. people saw them as more commanding and such.

Good to know, but I'm so laid back and quiet, I don't think my head being shaved would change perceptions about me.

Alex, that really sucks but every time it gets you down, you just have to remind yourself that all of this is temporary and is necessary to prevent a larger problem. You've already pretty much beaten cancer and you have a whole lot to look forward to in life.

If you want to talk, PM me of course.

Thanks David, that means a lot! Good to know that I have friends that are there for me. Makes the whole situation feel less stressful. <3

Nah, man, get a skull cap or something and go totally punk or biker gang look like Kanji. I'm sure you'd make it work.

I bought two hats recently just incase, a Dry Bones hat and a Ninja Turtles hat. I wanted something fun and silly since I work at an elementary school.

Did i mention that i love this game?
I'm not a fan of Sleeping Dogs' character designs, but the game is absolutely awesome. Judging by the background, I'm assuming you haven't received the second apartment yet, so you still have quite a ways to go. The story missions get really, really good.

Yeah just an hour in, just in time to get him to undress lol

Game looks and feels awesome, the city is absolutely gorgeous, can't wait to wander around at night <3

I'm so excited for you. I'm loving the game so far, and just going out at night and driving while I listen to Plaid songs is worth the price of admission alone.

I've actually met many people with those certain interests and they weren't all flamboyant but they sure as hell were shallow.

For what it's worth, you come across as more shallow and superficial than any gay guy I've actually met IRL. Dismissing people you haven't even met based on their taste in music? Good gravy.

If your attitude here is indicative of how you talk on dating websites, it's no wonder people don't want to talk to you. Maybe you'd have better luck if you included the disclaimer "must want to date a negative douchebag" in your profile. Most people are going to find that particular quality a turn-off, might as well not waste your time on them right?

But I'm Canadian! It's the only thing I'm good at. :(

LOL, you guys need to spend more time in Gaming side.

But there's nothing to follow right now and I can't stand the old threads I was subscribed to. Plus, I can only rag on BioWare's terrible writing for so long.
Actually I could do it all day.

So me and my boyfriend create daily nick names for each other and he called me Mr. Growler so I called him Greggersaurus so I told him I will photoshop his face on a T-rex so I did. :D
What do you all think? :D XD

I bursted in laughter.

Stabbie... I agree with Sai, it's hard to come up with words to reply to some of the things you are saying.

just do whatever you like, if many gays or many straights like something you like, it's fine, it's actually irrelevant, you shouldn't care if you are fitting in either stereotype.

Well, it's true. I've met several overtly negative people in my life who seem mystified that they have poor luck with relationships. Gay or straight, it doesn't matter.

Why is it shocking to anyone that people usually don't want to date them when their personality resembles a black-hole for joy and enthusiasm?

People on dating websites are there for two things 99.9% of the time. Sex or love. People in the first group are going to stop talking to you when it's clear you aren't looking to hook up, or if they aren't attracted to you. People in the second group are usually going to stop talking to you if it becomes clear that you have nothing to offer but negativity.

Oh my god guys, I'm crying over here

Word. I don't even need to add anything. No one is gonna want a smelly negative Nancy.

- Everything about their behavior.
- They're less sensitive than gay guys
- I can make insensitive jokes and remarks about other people and they don't give a shit
- They can be into superficial things but at least they're manly superficial things
- They can not shave or shower for several days and not give a fuck

etc.

I don't really find any of those things particularly "Masculine TBH, stereotypical I suppose but not generally masculine.

Madonna vs hiphop
Musicals vs action movies
Celebrities vs cars and sports
Gossip Girl vs family guy

I don't even know why I had to clarify...
I see.... personally those "masculine" traits you point out in both post reminds me of a decent amount of high school kids I used to go to school with who i wouldn't personally call them "manly/masculine" either. That's my spiel for the moment

I do, well I did when I was working. Who the hell goes to work stinky?

Yeah, people who can afford to not shower everyday must not hold a job.

Only day I skip on showering is Sundays and that's if I don't plan on being seen by the world. Course, I shower after I work out so it helps to cool me down.

Well.. I was going to try not to say it, but pretty much this.. Are you sure that the reason you (Stabbie) aren't getting more dates is because of your negative attitude. You really need to be more open minded.

Who showers everyday?

Be honest!

I'll admit that I don't take a shower every single day of the year. If it comes down to either having sex, working out, or having a physically demanding job than a shower every day would be more important. If you aren't being really active and sweating and you still smell and look alright than I wouldn't say a shower is mandatory every single day.
