OK guys.. really need input here. Going to an IDA constructed tourney. I had a few ideas that i wanted to go with, a B/R zombie/bloodartist/nuke deck, a mono-green, or what im enjoying right now is a W/R human/token deck. Any help would be appreciated.

This was game 2. On turn 7 I played nevermore because I knew he had resto angels in his deck and he almost beat me with one the game before. But on turn 8 he naturalized it so I played my pilgrim to chump and then swung because it was all or nothing.

For non Worcester natives, it is -not the best city.- I live on the "nice part of town" (dat $350/month apartment) with the colleges and I still hear near-weekly reports of people I know getting mugged. At least two houses on my street were broken into last year. Don't walk alone at night. Hell, don't go outside at night.

So for me it was more confirming that I had my $40 for the main event + ~100 or so to run side-events on Friday in the hopes of a 3-round bye.

It's explained in the video in the link. He puts cards on the bottom with an awkward shuffle and then riffles but leaves a huge chunk at the top unriffled so they stay at the top if the opponent riffles.

He gets a creature Path to Exiled twice.
The first time he knows there is an Etched Champion on the bottom because it just got Vendilion Cliqued. And he has no basics in the deck. So he doesn't search, and just starts shuffling in such a way as to get the Champion to the approximate middle of the deck.
The second time he starts shuffling, stops, searches his deck, puts the Etched Champion on the bottom, then starts side shuffling in such a way that leaves the Champion on the bottom. Then he goes back to the style of shuffling that lets him know it would end up in the middle of the deck.
In both cases the opponent thoroughly shuffles upon being presented, so it doesn't make a difference. Still shady as hell. And most likely cheating.

Why do this at all? How big of a scumbag do you have to be to cheat in a fucking card game. There's shady shit like this at the bigger gameshops by me constantly and it pisses me off. I've had people get mad at me for them trying to pull bullshit or makes moves super quick without allowing for a response because they are trying to pull shit like this. It makes me want to move to MTGO more and more when I see stuff like that, so infuriating.
It's a sealed event; you don't need a deck. If you want me to run you through the basics of the format before the event starts, I can.
No lie, if a few people were gonna split a room I might be game lol It's a far fucking drive for me but it would be awesome to meet some of you.
Lessons from Pauper:
If they play a turn 1 Ichorclaw Myr, Lightning Bolt it straight away instead of casting Preordain, you can't take 1 hit.
The 8Post mirror is silly but end of turn Mystical Tutor fetching Prohibit into casting Ulamog's Crusher with counter mana up on turn 5 or 6 makes you feel like a pro.

One lesson I learned from Pauper: IzzetPost wins about 80% against White Weenie, but if you play the game all the way through, you might win on a time out. NEVER GIVE UP. Just have GAF open at the same time =P
It didn't take too long, I played Mulldrifter on turn 3 and he Bolt'd it, then he played his and I bolted it. We both played some draw spells then I drew Crusher, tutored up the counter and ran it out there. I don't think the deck has any answer to it besides counters and he scooped before I attacked with it.
And shhhhhh, it was the first time I'd played the deck!
The rest of you should get on Pauper it's more fun than I thought it would be.

But yeah, you won that game.
In a daily, I managed to pull of a similar thing. I got temporal fissured (stormed to infinity) and my entire board got returned to my hand. Good thing there was about 30 seconds left on his clock and I was at like 18 life lol. It somehow felt good even though I surely would have lost that game. =D

Ugh, fuck MTGO, I just lost because of their stupid system. You can tap lands first for everything except freaking x spells apparently. I tapped out for the win with volcanic geyser and it casts it for zero and floats the mana instead. What a fucking moronic game.

Ya, I could have won the round except for that, not to mention the random pop ups of triggers makes it hard to decipher sometimes. Such a crappy way to handle it and just frustrating.
There's no possibility of even winning a pack in the new player phantom drafts right?

Ya, I did it again and figured that out. Still an awkward as fuck way to handle it to me. I read it but mistook it for a trigger my opponent was doing, just a crappy way to lose because of a clunky interface. I had the match won.
Edit: Ah, prize is an avacyn's pilgrim promo. I guess I'm ok missing out on it but still annoying it even happened.

It will depend on what decks rise to the top in Standard. I honestly see them hovering around the 10-15 dollar mark, which is usually the high-end for standard duals (barring the Core Set duals).

Their price will definitely drop, especially the current ones that are being drafted. Standard pretty much dictates most prices, unless it's a modern or a legacy staple (modern staple in this example)
The thing is, most modern decks don't want/need 4 of each. Fetch lands are way more important
