Not just them either it's pretty much the Tiny build now. I think EG goes for treads instead of phase but I don't think i've seen a manaboots blink tiny in like 8 months.

Well nobody that knows how to play tiny builds manaboots. For the most part skipping blink completely seems to be more of an nadota thing, even though everybody goes aghs now.

Think I could trade that stupid time breaker weapon for an ursa alpine set?

highly doubtful.

The timebreaker holding steady at @ 5Dota Keys (8-10 tf2 keys) while the ursas seem to be asking unusual courier (though i doubt theyll get it) and are denying 10 dota key offers

Stupid valve ruining everything!

Hey hey! Ho ho! listening to whiny little bitches has got to go!

So ComeWithMe got denied his VISA again, despite help from Valve this time around.

So mouz got Kuroky out of nowhere to replace him for the Internationals.

Really must suck for CWM though...why can't he get a visa anyways!

Oh that stands for something? I just thought he was welsh :s

So i come from league and have become decent at this game but only level 2. HOW FOR THE LOVE OF GOD do you stop people from feeding riki

Every game I play (some on my team) has a riki that gets fed and just outlevels and wins the game. Needless to say this isn't exactly what i expected.

Really want to like it but between that character and people always leaving / afk i don't have the patience.

buy dust + disable? he goes down pretty fast

Force staff is also a great way to escape rikki's cloud if you get caught, or use it on a teammate if they are caught in it.

Nightstalker is a good low level counter to riki. His silence stops the stealth/cloud. Carry around a dust on your hero. NS is good in entry level bracket for any match.

Hard counters are slardar and bounty hunter, both have ults that reveal invisibility when put on a target. Universal counter is force staff for getting out of the cloud (can be used on team mates/yourself), or black king bar/monkey king bar for fighting inside of it.

Since you seem to really hate Riki, here is a few things you can do to screw him over.

1) Kill him a few times before he is level 6. Riki has a really low HP pool, and his escape isn't that great early game. If you can't kill him, make he scared to even get last hits.

2) So, he is level 6+? Anti invisibility items are you friend. Buy them. Is he farming in your lane still? Place some sentry wards in the lane. Is he just roaming around trying to gank? Have some dust on you, when he pops up, put the dust on him so you have vision of him, and kill him on the rebound. Riki can only really focus one hero at a time, as long as you don't all get suck in his smoke cloud, just stun him and kill him. Also, try to get a gem on your team when you can.

3) Have someone grab Slardar or Bounty Hunter, they both have skills they can place on Riki to keep sight of him.

Just noticed how Alpine set got taken out. I fail to see how this solves the "problem", if that's what Valve wanted to accomplish by removing it.

Slardar is /the/ counter to Rikimaru. He's nice and tanky and has a close-range stun so Riki can't really burst him down.

Or you could just buy a gem and 5-man dota, theres not much he can do in that scenario without a BKB.

If you get a chance to counterpick take Bounty Hunter. His ultimate, Track, will force Riki to stay visible for like thirty seconds while reducing his armor and giving your allies bonus movement speed. Riki is incredibly vulnerable when he's visible, and almost never survives having Track tossed on him.

We need to start a counter whine campaign to get the hat back!

Everyone says valve loves hats... But they killed one!!!!!!!!!

Sweet thanks a lot, these all sound like awesome ways to deal with Riki. Had no idea about the dust item, I'm thinking something as simple as that would have saved a few games on my side.

Yes, Riki is certainly one of those heroes that can devastate a new player. I remember when I first started playing, there was a game where the enemy Riki went 34/0. Even last night, the Riki on my team got something ridiculous like 25 kills. They never bought gem, dust, or sentry wards to our knowledge (ironically, I bought gem for my team to get the shadow blading sniper).

Invisible heroes can be very intimidating for new players, since you really have to go out of your way to counter them by buying extra items. This is definitely not fun for players who have difficulty farming and every single gold is precious (me). However, if you can grab an invis hero, they can go down very quickly and you will earn back any money you spent on items by killing them.

Probably my favorite skill to use against new players was Axe's battle hunger. People had no idea how to get rid of it and you could troll the lane all day with it.

My friend and I once laned as axe + silencer combo for fun.

It was awesome, dual cursing all day, but without a stun or slow we couldn't really gank.

Bloodseeker's ult was so annoying when I first started playing. Everyone would try and run when ulted. I saw so much pubstomping with him when I first started playing.

Of course its that same ult that keep him as a bottom of the barrel hero.

Also the offers for the Ursa set are very silly right now. That shit will settle once the commotion over it getting pulled calms down.

It might settle, but if they don't add it back it's a limited Mythical set that caused some controversy, it's always going to be a valuable set.

ugh I got a chest and its the one that goes away from inventory sept 3rd.

Both are for heroes I don't use too. One is a reg chest though.

1.09 got to be cheating somehow. Wonder how much they're worth? Someone selling one on TF2Outpost for 90 keys.

One thing that's definitely apparent in lower tier games is that most people don't deny. I usually almost always end up with the most denies in the game, no matter what role I'm playing.

I definitely stopped doing it since whenever I try to deny I just end up missing it and miss last hitting so I only focus on getting as much gold/xp for now.

Lina is a fun hero, her damage burst is ridiculous even though she's squishy and has no escape (until you get the blink dagger at least)

I think it's nearly always a good idea to prioritize last hits over denying if you're trying to farm a lane. Denying is great if you can sneak it in when possible, but if you're given the choice between a deny hit and a creep kill, I'd take the creep kill for sure.

The thing is that very seldom will it be impossible for you to take both unless creep equilibrium is so perfect that even the creeps are attacking at the same time. The more you practice with csing, the easier it'll be for you to identify which creep you can hit first and which second, and it'll be easier to spot out occasions when you can get both when earlier you coulda sworn you had to choose between the two.

A set that only works on one hero. This will be no earbuds, just like timebreaker.

Plus Timebreaker looks good, Alpine set doesn't.

It's a trolling set for a trolling hero, there's that theme, but it's nothing more than that. That was why I considered getting it in a month or so, hadn't they removed it, once the price was lower.

I still think that 10 keys is a silly price. People were able to get it for 6 keys before it went down if they really liked the set.
It's currently going for 10 because "omg legendary status, must get it to sell it for a bazillion keys later", but I fail to see how there's a market for a $22 set used for trolling purposes on Ursa.

Pulling the Ursa set is making me really mad at not only Valve, but also the Dota2 community as a whole. This might be because I know the creators of the set and what they went through just to make it, but come on...

Valve being knee jerk and hastey and making bad decisions. Not off to a good start with Dota. Valve needs not to be afraid, suck it up, and just ship items. The item is in the game, oh well boo hoo you'll see it maybe once every couple of weeks.

Seriously, this is making me mad. Like wow... I'm more angry at Valve for removing it than adding it :/

if that many people don't like the item then why should they worry people will use it? Don't remove something someone worked hard on that was added to the game and everything, that's just cruel and unprofessional towards the creators.

I'm sorry Dota community, but you need to lighten up and realize that items are not always going to be perfect, and just because a large group of people don't like it doesn't mean you have to totally destroy the entire item being in the game and ruining it for both the creator and people who wanted the set.

...and I was going to spend money buying the gloves of the set because I liked them a lot and play Ursa. I went to buy them yesterday and to my surprise they were gone. Sorry creators :(
