Added here:

- SolForge Digital Trading Card Game (Ends Sep 10th|Thread) Ongoing. .

Along with the following other KS projects:

- KickStarter Indie Bundle (Ends Aug 29th) Ongoing.
- Resurrect ADOM development (Ends Aug 30th) Ongoing.
- Project Giana (Ends Aug 31st | Thread )
- CHEETAHMEN II : THE LOST LEVELS (Ends Sep 6st|Thread) Ongoing.
- Evilot (Ends Sep 7th) Ongoing.
- Insurgency 2 (Ends Sep 8th) Ongoing.
- Expeditions: Conquistador (Ends Sep 12th) Ongoing.

I really hope that Project Giana hits its target goal. I think it looks great. Insurgency 2 looks interesting for a tactical shooter.

And dear god at CHEETAHMEN II. I swear this game is going to get funded purely on its novelty factor alone. :S

I just watched that Cheetahmen pitch video and read the page, and still can't tell if that's a real thing based on an old NES game or not...

FORGE plays like a third person shooter, but with the abilities, strategy and pace of MMO PvP combat. It is built with a focus on fun and accessibility, but with the attention to detail and balance of a deep, competitive game. Whether you're new to first person shooters and MMOs, or a veteran, FORGE will be easy to pick up yet offer much to learn as you play.

Total Biscuit preview.

We only need Corey and Lori Ann Cole Kickstarter to complete the cycle*

* because Roberta Williams is retired and Daryl Gates is no longer with us

I just stumbled on this and I thought of you:

http://www.questformoreglory.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3100&st=0&p=47385&#entry47385

However, Corey and I had a very interesting time at Comic Con last weekend. We spent many hours in meetings at the convention with various people. As a result of these meetings, I can say that a Kickstarter project is definitely in our future. However, we don’t know what project we will be funding yet. It will depend upon other people, development houses, and game companies.

Given their post-QfG ventures have been a bit more varied than just adventures, there's no guarantee it's a straight QfG-style title... but I'm intrigued to see what they'll come up with.

Edit: Ah, there's been a more recent post. Looks like it's expanding their previous 'School for Heroes' online community project and merging it with the QfG design style:

We are going to create the School for Heroes game. It's an on-line Adventure RPG AND an interactive community.

Backed Knock Knock with $20. They're getting close.

The Void and Pathologic are insanely cool.

So it seems Ice-Pick Lodge; they of Pathologic, The Void, and Cargo: Quest for Gravity infamy have decided to try their hand at Kickstarter for their next weird opus, Knock-knock.

They're asking for $30K, the game can be had for $5.
These reward tier are just what we'd expect from IPL, because I want whatever lies behind the $47 mystery. Their art book, if anything like the Void special edition art work/soundtrack/etc, will be quite the read, is available for $20.

Don't expect me to define the game by genre, that won't be possible at this point, if ever.
Interesting, if slightly sinister tale of how the game came to be in the KS pitch video.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/659943965/planetary-annihilation-a-next-generation-rts

Planetary Annihilation looks INCREDIBLE, though I'm not sure if what they're showing is a proof-of-concept render, rather than in-engine footage.

It'd be incredible if they can achieve what was on show in real-time.
It says "gameplay visualisation" at the start of the video, which is a bit vague.

I think it may be a proof of concept for now, but it sure looked great. Smashing asteroids into planets... That may be the hook that grabs a lot of bystander attention!

I put $15 down for the early bird special in hopes that they deliver with this, though it's probably the Kickstarter I've backed with the least certainty of a finished product at the end of it.... well, I guess Republiqué is risky as fuck too...

I hope they deliver. If not, something like this is worth the gamble, to me.

Well, whatever it was sure didn't last long. The project is already cancelled.

I also made a new update for Post 1198...

New successful projects include:

- Shadowrun Online ($558,863 | Thread)
- Penny Arcade Sells Out ($528,144 | Thread)
- Defense Grid 2 ($271,727 | Thread)
- GameDock for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Devices ($57,302)

I also just added these projects:

- Forge (Ends Sep 8th) Ongoing.
- Jetpack 2 (Ends Sep 8th | Thread) Ongoing.
- Wings: Director's Cut (Ends Sep 11th | Thread) Ongoing.
- Fangamer Retrowear (Ends Sep 12th | Thread) Ongoing.
- Mercenary Kings (Ends Sep 13th | Thread) Ongoing.
- Planetary Annihilation - A Next Generation RTS (Ends Sep 14th | Thread) Ongoing.
- David Crane's Jungle Adventure (Ends Sep 15th) Ongoing.
- Pinball Arcade: Star Trek The Next Generation (Ends Sep 15th | Thread) Ongoing.

And these two didn't make it ( Post 1199)

- Wicked Crush (Ends Aug 15th) Unsuccessful
- BAD PLANET (Ends Aug 16th) Unsuccessful

I still haven't gotten any responses from the moderators I contacted about making a new thread. So I may just make a new one anyway.

Project Giana
is at $85,784, but still needs $64,216 in eight days. I really hope it makes it. Though their actual desired goal is $250,000, which I don;t think they will hit.

Stranger things have happened, but yeah, not sure why it flew under the radar so much. It was a somewhat well known and liked indie project even before the kickstarter, I figured it'd hit the goal easy.

http://www.indiegogo.com/resurrect-adom-development

Probably the last gasp for the ADOM IGG campaign---65K goal with 66 hours left to create a "Deluxe" version of the game that would aim to get on Steam and all to help fund even further development beyond the massive amount this crowd funding campaign has already resulted in.

Well, I mean there's more stretch goals and all, but unless an absolute torrent of backing comes in..

Question: Have any of the Kickstarters that have been fully funded launched/released yet? If so, which ones?

None of the major ones. Only one in the sort of post-Double Fine era I can think of is Saturday Morning RPG, it's out on ios but not on PC yet. Probably some other smaller scale ones like that.

But there were some from before the boom. Like the Cthulhu Saves The World PC port and No Time To Explain.

I heard No Time To Explain was horrible.

Verification?

Video Game Orchestra ~LIVE AT SYMPHONY HALL~ Album

  • Album recording of the concert at Boston Symphony Hall on October 7th.
  • Featuring music from Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Grandia, Castlevania, Chrono Trigger, Street Fighter II and more.
  • $30,000 budget (licensing, mastering, mixing, artwork, production)
  • Digital pledge at $10. Physical CD at $20.
  • Behind the scenes documentary with the special guest composers for $35+ pledgers.

ADOM has gone absolutely bonkers----now at freaking $83K with 9 hours to go...all major gameplay enhancements accounted for and now they are just surging like mad. I can't believe how well this has done given the original target was $48K.

http://www.indiegogo.com/resurrect-adom-development

=$110,000 will be the iPad version and five new mini quests,
=$120,000 will be the Android version and three more mega quests,
=$130,000 will see the ADOM Lite RPG converted into the true ADOM RPG and expanded to 128 pages full-color hardcover splendor - at no additional cost for all the folks who decided to pledge for the RPG! (at this level I probably would consider selling it later - but I'd add some special limited thing for all donors to make your version different from the one available later... something like 16 pages of unique art).

Any word from the mods yet on a new thread?

Nah, nothing. I contacted two different mods and got no response. Maybe I am PM'ing the wrong ones? I have new thread graphics and template page ready to go. But I am not sure if I should start a new thread yet.

It's great to see Project Giana hit their goal. Though shame they won't probably hit their 200-250k goal.

I noticed that they made some changes to the character art:

photo-full.jpg

One of the biggest complaints with this KS project were the new designs on the character. Though the playable demo is really solid.

Well it's up to 48% now... Needs just over 25k in 4 days.

C'mon people!

To bad this one didn't make it. It has a really cool Sam and Max art style going on for it.

It's rather depressing seeing all these Gamestarters on Steam Greenlight. You would have thought there would be some behind the scenes deals to get them on Steam, since it's such a high profile situation.

Some games do have it some don't. Can't really begin to comprehend Valve's rhyme or reason.

Like Mercenary Kings is Steam approved already, but Giana Sisters is on Greenlight. Hell, Cloudberry Kingdom has a Steam beta that started before the project was even funded.
