"Be a Body (侘寂)" is too short to be a single, so I doubt it'll get a video. But you guys are truly ignoring the hit that is "Vowels = Space Time."

It's interesting that everyone likes different songs from the record.

Love the video. Genesis is my favorite track from the album next to Vowels = Space and Time

Such a fantastic album.

I have no idea what's going on in this thread, I may be too old for this shit, but that blond girl with the snake kinda looks like my cousin.
Grimes is a Canadian singer. She's post-internet, and has cred with the indie and hipster crowd.

/me adds to the confusion.

Best off Visions has got to be Vowels = Space and Time. So fucking good.
It really is.

Damn, I don't have the little blue headphones emoticon.

Actually I can't really get into Grimes because of her lisp. It really gets on my nerves. She's pretty good but like other 'hipster'(sorry, usually don't use the word but it's just short-hand in this case) electronic dance musics like chillwave, witchhouse, etc., there's something about the vibe which feels ironic and thus basically ruins for me. Like she's actually into retro synth-worship/90s R&B, but it's also kind of a joke.

She is weirdly hypnotic to watch though.

EDIT: 'Oblivion' is such a cool video....again, love her, love the synth work, her voice and delivery gets on my nerves.

EDIT: It's almost possible to imagine her becoming a real pop celebrity; and if that were to happen it would interesting to see what she did with it.

I have never heard this artist before but that Genesis song is good.

The video does nothing for it though unless that's just meant to be parody or something. I honestly know nothing about Grimes.

Love Grimes but this video was pretty poor considering I thought Oblivion was the best one since JUstice Stress, great song though!

Had no idea she was a one-girl band. Seeing synth-pop bands must be weird with all the tinkering with machines compared to a more physical rock band's performance.

That's pretty cool, and she's self-taught, doesn't have any training. Thanks for introducing me to this artist.
I hadn't watched that. I should watch more of her live stuff.

How's Blau on or blauon or w/e she said. I wonder if her next album will be full on bass. :p
I like how she's so down to earth, and how readily she admitted to screwing up that last one. I guess she's a perfectionist. :lol

So happy to see a Grimes thread on GAF! She's awesome, Visions has been the musical find of the year for me. She's playing live in Edinburgh tomorrow night, really looking forward to it.

I think she likes Britney.

I don't think I like a single Grimes video. The music is good though.

Yeah she definitely seems to like Britney.
Pitchfork: It looks just like the snake from Britney Spears' performance of "I'm a Slave 4 U" video at the 2001 Video Music Awards. Could it be the same one?

CB: It's actually a different python. I wish it was the same python. I was specifically referencing her performance in this video. That was one of Britney's best moments.

Just back from Grimes at the Liquid Rooms, placed was rammed, but she had the place eating out of her hand from start to finish. I don't think she was expecting the reaction she got, grinning from ear to ear as she took in the standing ovation after Genesis. One or two vids to upload, will post them once they're done.
