practice makes perfect, _Isaac!
I didn't learn to cook until i had no one to make all the things I really wanted.

someone make me a wall-e sandwich, that's adorable. cept, skip the kraft singles, use a real cheese!

Pretty much. When I was younger, my mom worked two job, which meant she wouldnt be home till 11pm. I learnt to cook or my sister and I would starve. lol.

I would cook for my family when I was unemployed last year's summer. I guess it wasn't enough time for me to actually get any good at it, and I take so LOOONG. Really. I take long at almost everything.

Pffft. I undercook my food so you're instantly better than me.

yeah one summer isn't long enough. just keep at it.

it helps to find something you really love, and keep making it. then you'll learn skills, it'll take much less time, and you'll learn to perfect it. it also helps to cook with other people to pick up tips.

I can't cook. It takes me hours to cook even the most simple meal. In fact, right now I'm starving and I'm thinking of going to sleep to avoid cooking. The only problem is that I would probably wake up with 5 pounds less or something.

  • White bread sucks.
  • I can't believe the last time I liked a Pixar movie was in the mid 2000s.
  • I would cook if I knew how to make anything worthwhile.

Oops, I messed up my quotes, I was going to say; wheat bread is great, I love me some 100% whole grain wheat.

I've eaten that stuff my whole life. I'm just a little tired of it. I got to taste white bread, and it's just tastes so much better.

It is my favorite too.
I love Up, Toy Story 3, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles, but Wall-E remains on top.

I like all of those (although The Incredibles are somewhat creepy), but TS3 is on top for me. I also find Monsters Inc. to be generally under-appreciated.

I've had undercooking mishaps as well. I like my meat almost sorta kinda rare.

Is he handsome at other times?
I think he looked good in Milk and Howl.

I don't know how anyone can dislike mike wazowski.
I don't know how anyone can like Monsters Inc.

The movie didn't do anything for me, I just found it confusing and really poorly paced. I don't know the last time I watched it, so it might fare better on a second viewing, but when I first became conscious of Pixar as a studio, it surprised me that Monsters Inc. was in the same catalog as Finding Nemo and Toy Story.

But why would you want to cook french toast with mediocre bread? That's an affront on french toast.

Sure, thick bread is awesome for certain variations of it, but you can do awesome french toast without it!

So long as it has a rum sauce & bananas or at the very least nutmeg, cinnamon, and/or cardamom and real maple syrup, it'll pass a taste test :)

Loves me fresh bread and buns. But holy hell I get hiccups EVERY TIME i eat either. Annoyance factor I have to take into account.

Couple months ago I also did an uber low carb diet, hardest thing I ever did. All the good shit is loaded with carbs. One slice of bread per day max carb intake :(

Everything that's good is bad. Well, now it is. When we were cavemen good things were probably good because we weren't able to have them in excess amount.

Oh god that's terrible. I could sometimes eat half a loaf of bread for a meal. Bread + buns are delicious. :D

The idea that someone would spend a measurable amount of time vidja gamin' but not know how to cook is borderline offensive to me and might end in a Stabbie-esque dismissal were this information to come out during a conversation. :)

To be fair I haven't played much video games lately. Mostly just playing piano in my room or working. Maybe one day I'll learn how to make eggs. :)

I can feel your inevitable hatred already. :P

"You can't fry an egg... YOU ARE OUT!"

I can definitely see it!

The problem with carbs in grains is that we didn't eat them when we were cavemen. Its the reason we are so obese and overweight in the modern era. The carbs we got were from fruits/veggies. The same can be said about milk consumption (moreso that it wasn't consumed)

Yep I used to do that; sometimes eat it plain or dunk bread into balsamic vinegar. THAT and just having one meal a day with bread being the main course.

It will do horrible things to your body though. I think I gained weight just off eating bread primarily. Not that im fat. But could stand to lose 15 lbs.

Now that you're a chef you're looking down at the little people. </3

I...I...

Are you gonna give me the cold shoulder in seattle???? :(

edit: for clarification i'm literally an expert
instant
ramen chef in real life

I can totally cook, bake and fry. I'm just getting increasingly lazy about doing so. I've eaten the same peanut/banana sandwich every day for the summer.

Cooking is hard to do. I always felt bad for chefs/cooking teachers who had to cook AS THEIR JOB. And then when they get home they have to cook some more! Time consuming.

Baking though. That imo is a heck of a lot easier. Even fucking things up slightly will result in an edible food. Some of my best pastimes were baking cookies/cheese sticks/pizza/etc with my dad. Give me a recipe and I can bake something, probably ;)

If you can follow instructions then you can cook. Simple as that.

Off topic but its like math, just follow the order of operations (per se) and you're golden.

this is GAF, how have you missed that this is probably the norm here ;)
