My local Meijer has the mellinoum falcon clearances out to 105
Do you have that set yet? If not, GET IT! Fantastic set, and very widely loved on here. A fun build, and it looks fantastic once done.

Note that the September promo Monster Fighters car is not the same as the Zombie Coffin Car above.
I have the old millennium falcon, and really not a fan of how the top fans out on the new one. Also really not a big fan of the playsets, I like the more display stuff like planes and modules.

Seeing that witch, i am reeminded how much I love how mini figs look with the slope piece for legs, but I HATE how weak the connection to the rest of the body is.
Almost done sorting all my disassembled sets for the year, including taking apart the Architecture sets I have. Will disassemble the LOTR stuff soon as well. I am running out of space in the bins. That means I must finish the brewery soon and make another building to make space in storage.
I am on the fence about Haunted House now. Order ASAP, or wait until Oct for possible double VIP?
And in the meantime, disassemble Death Star and do a time lapse vid of the build. Of course, that sounds like the perfect thing to do when I take a week off at the end of October.
The smart thing is to wait for possible double VIP. I know I would.
I'm getting close to being done with bags 1 of box 1 in my SSD build. This is a VERY excellent build so far. The only thing I don't like is finding space to build AND have the instructions open. Seriously, fricken massive.
Watched the real trilogy while I built the Imperial Shuttle earlier this year. Made it so much cooler.Flipping the entire ship over while you're building it is fun.
And it's funny...I want to turn on Star Wars while building this ship. <3 Amazing.

And I know you are down on the Death Star due to the play set nature of it, but if you really like the SSD, I highly recommend the Imperial Shuttle. Very awesome build, and an amazing display piece. It fools nearly everyone who visits. They don't believe it it Lego until they get really close to it. And all the gear work inside of it to make the wings work would be right up your alley. If you don't splurge on the Death Star, the Shuttle is cheaper and more in line with your tastes. And it is oh so sexy.
You got some of the modulars right? If so, you know those cool moments while building one where some neat little detail comes in, like the ping pong table in Fire Brigade? Now multiply that by about ten or so times and that describes the little details in the Death Star. It is all about the discovery of building it and recreating iconic scenes from the films. If I can get a deal on a Death Star, I may pick it up because (if nothing else), I'll be able to resell it for a stupid profit years down the line. It looks like a REALLY glorified playset, but I imagine there's a LOT more to it than I realize.
mrklaw in this thread was selling one for about $250 shipped which is an excellent price for the bulldozer. (It might be even cheaper if you are in Europe). Send him a PM.
Sold, sorry. I'm not sure I'd pay 5-600 for it. It's a great set and a fun build, but buy an 8043 excavator and bricklink the rest of the pieces and you'd probably save a fortune. (guessing on the 8043, just feels like it has quite a few similar pieces, plus all the RC stuff)

It is such a cool build. And the manual is epic. Enjoy it bro.
Don't know if this is allowed, but I thought I'd try to give back a bit to this thread by offering some sets that I got on clearance to other Gaffers at cost before I return them to the store. Remember this is the same price I paid plus 2% for paypal. Buyer will have to pay for shipping. I can take them out of the boxes to make shipping cheaper if it helps some folks.

Does lego still do the huge themes they used to? I've been so out of the loop for like years...I remember how awesome Ice Planet, M-Tron, Space Police and the Aquanauts/Sharks/Raiders were.
The circle is now complete.Man, just connected one of the pieces that runs the entire length of the SSD (on a diag). What a fricken ingenious design. A+ LEGO designer.
Snow troopers are best troopers. Get the rebel pack as well. They get a vehicle. The wife picked up a small Star Wars LEGO set at a yard sale today for $2.50 in the box unopened and wow I am impressed!! The details and even being such a small build I love it. Must get more!

Yeah. Cool little pack. Build is better, but the figures are not as awesome, but they are still cool. I need more Snow Troopers.Yeah I know for sure I want the falcon and the TIE fighter but now I think I need some of the other sets as well.
Edit: is the rebel pack you're referring to 8083? It's the other one pictured on the back of the box.
I love the detail on the AT-AT drivers helmet. Something about it blew me away.

One side opens like a door. The roof also pops off, but I didn't really decorate inside yet.

Can't see him but there's a rebel trooper pointing a gun at you from inside.

That Hoth bunker looks worlds better than the Echo Base set it spawned from.
Indeed. Great work Parrotbreak.
And all the LOTR sets (save Shelob. She stays together) are dismantled. The area around my television looks rather bare. Time to start on another building using mainly LOTR stuff. I stopped on the brewery. Gotta get my brain back into that one.
