You guys were linked with him all summer. Seems also odd that Fergie is not after him. He's perfect for United as well and cheap to boot.

Wonder if Arsene and Fergie know something is up with him..

Maybe he only wants to join Newcastle to play with his French buddies?

Yeeeeeeeeah

If Nani leaves without being replaced I will cry for the entire month of September!
Very unlikely we replace him at such short notice now.

The moves for Hazard + Moura make a bit more sense now, perhaps we had planned to ditch Nani all along and they were potential replacements.

If we are not keeping him we kind of have to sell now, or next summer he has a year left on his contract and it doesn't look like we are going to be offering him a new one, either by choice or because we don't want to pay him what he wants.

Worked out well with Debuchy huh?

I'LL CUT YOU.

Debuchy :( I hope for one more bid before the window closes. I definitely expect one for Carroll given the sudden reintroduction of the rumours in the media lately. Either way, I expect one more player in and I doubt Cabaye or Tiote will go (unless Newcastle did the impossible and got M'Vila).

BITCHES don't be hating on the Sports Direct mug. A glorious mug at that.

We're putting in one final bid for Debuchy this week. He'll come if Lille are destroyed by Copenhagen on Wednesday. If not then he'll have to stay :(

I don't know if M'Vila is better than Tiote but I don't like losing star players.

Hope Spurs don't get Dembele ahead of us but if they do then I wish him all the best, and Lloris would be a cracking buy. Really rooting for Spurs this year. When the transfer window is closed and they've gelled a bit, they'll be great. They're the perfect club for AVB if you think about it.

Our interest seemed just to end abruptly, Regardless of what seems to be a knock down price. It's all quite perplexing because Arsenal need a DM.

Root for Arsenal mate

Any way to get Tiote's stats from last season compared to other defensive midfielders in the league?

Oh, Never knew they did this.

How could you not know that? It's the only thing they're known for.
I'm joking, in case it wasn't obvious. Great club, always had great respect for their Basque-only philosophy.

We really should come up with some sort of Footy-GAF admission test. :P

Do you guys really think Dembele will improve us at all? Or are we just jumping to conclusions because Carrick has been missing in CM for our past two games.

He's a good player, but...

+1

I think he would add a physical option to our midfield which at the moment is pretty lightweight and gets easily outmuscled.

I'm still not really sure he is the perfect player for us...but he'd definitely help. If we could sign him for a reasonable price it would be good.

I don't see him as somebody going into the first team week in week out though.

It seems that Niang is the first player to snub us this summer. 4 out of 5 doesn't seem bad. I hope he does well at Milan. A great prospect.

In another news, it seems that Moyes wants Kevin Doyle. Please NO!

For a while I just followed the PL, only since Ronaldo's move to Madrid, I've followed the Spanish League :)

Hope Llorente goes to City/Arsenal :P

So you sign Berba :)

Agree with you, the Midfield needs a bit of steel and Dembele can be a our Yaya Toure, which is a type of player we need in the middle.

Banned paper reckon Zenit will offer £25m for Nani.

I'd be happy with that, I guess. It's a bit of a shame though, I doubt we will reinvest that money now...it almost seems like a sale to balance the books a bit..

Macca off Liverpool rumours:

If Carroll goes (90% chance) it will be for an undisclosed fee..
Cheers

HI All,
Rodgers wants Dempsey but the owners are unsure because of his age.
He has been told if he sells a player then we can bid..
Also not Liverpool related but i believe City, Chelsea and Spurs will spend big this week..
Cheers

The mirror say we'll sell Adam and Downing, and maybe Carroll, and sign Sturridge for £15m. I wish!

Yeah Yenrot, I can see Carroll coming back home. 17 million is a lot but whatever, not my money :P

Actually 17 million is A LOT for a 3rd choice striker...

The back page of tomorrow's Mirror is the story that we're lining up a £15 million for Sturridge.

Don't fancy that, too much in my opinion. At the start of the summer I was more open to it, but I've cooled towards the idea. He's a good player, but I worry that he's too wasteful with the ball.

I'd take that, but we'll need to spend it on a winger or a CM.

also known for never been relegated only three teams in spain have that.

I think we'd be stupid to pay that much for Carroll, 12 Mil tops. If we've got 17 Mil to spend I'd rather we spent it on Debuchy and a cheaper backup striker.

I want my old job back which consisted of me browsing footyGAF all day. I'm so lost here now (but kicking absolute ass at my new job. I'm a fucking wonder)

Someone fill me in on the lastest happenings, please.

Yeah, just take him and end this disaster. Back in May I thought he was going to be fantastic, but I'm now drunk on tiki-taka. I reckon he could be a hit back at Newcastle.

If it means getting rid of Downing and Adam...
I think he'd be good for us - quick, skillful, van finish, but yes, he makes Suarez look selfless.

Rooday?

It seems what I knew was going to be Villa's problem all along was true. We can't do anything in the final third...and we need a LB. I expect to see both.

Benteke seems like a good bid.

I'm more inclined to believe that if we do sell him it'll just balance the books and take our spend to about £25m. Nothing major.

I just hope it's a bit of 2+2=5. I can believe Fergie is pissed with Nani...but I'm just finding it hard to believe he has suddenly decided off the back of one game that he wants him out and wants him out now. Seems so knee-jerk.

10 goals and 14 assists last year...missed a couple of months with injury too....we'll do well to find somebody who delivers that.

Pretty sure Rodgers would straighten that out pretty quickly. Raheem will tell him what happens when you get on his wrong side.

Steady.
