By word of Toriyama. Which doesn't mean much.

She isn't the weakest but isn't the strongest either.(Though it's really subjective who's the strongest period)

Her enemy has a Xanatos Gambit.

Either way he wins.
A Xanatos Gambit?

She is the only FF protagonist I can think of that becomes the equivalent of a god off some fluke stuff instead of dying or living a somewhat normal life after their main journey. Dissidia makes Warrior of Light all badass so I suppose he might be somewhat stronger.

I exchanged messages with one of FFXIII's voice actresses, and she said she has exciting news coming soon related to FF... take that as you will.

(She also mentionned having auditioned for Type-0 but didn't get the part, so I guess that's one more confirmation about its localization being in progress)

I think WoL or Bartz is the strongest. For Protags anyway. (Solely going off of crystal power and FFV crystals containing the power of past chosen warriors)

Also Xanatos Gambit.

As for Type 0 localization, if Feep is anything to go by voicework is supposedly done but the actress you speak of may have auditioned for it at some time.

Due to deus ex machina, not really through efforts of her own though.

Still boosts her powers tremendously. Problem is, her opponent outclassed her in every way so she looks weak as hell in comparison.

Thanks. There is a trope of everything is there? :D

And Bartz? Seriously? I never finished FFV but wow. Did not know he gets hardcore later in the game.

FFV is my favorite in the series and he kinda goes nuts a little bit. But I based it more on the Crystals and we know his dad was pretty boss.

Cool, thanks for passing that along!

About the voice actress thing, Ali Hillis was the only one that reacted to the announcement, at least on twitter. Maybe she is the only returning character?

So Type-0 IS getting localized.

I guess it's coming to Vita.

Along with ps3, at least. Having it on 3ds too will make a lot of sense sales wise, not sure if sony havve any deals with SE. Hell there is still no news about FFX HD :( I want ffx to be out so there will be FF 12 hd !

It would give me incentive to get one. Whenever the price decides to go down if ever.(Not for a while I'm sure)

Well it's a possibility that we might get a spinoff just for Lightning but who knows. I know SE trademarked a term known as "Deathless". So I dunno.

That could actually happen at the North American one... maybe. Wish I was going to it, but it's on the other side of the country.

I am going to it and I would cheer for a FF13-3. If they announce anything further than that for the 13 franchise I might start booing though.

Fang's VA did, although she didn't confirm her involvement in whatever project's getting announced friday.

All right, honestly guys - TGS is soon and I'm wondering what're the odds of a XIII-3?

I saw Fang's VA react as well, hoping that she would be in it. Posted about it a few times, hoping she'd get a call since her character was
rescued in XIII-2's ending
. Seems she knows the story quite well, so that's always neat.

I think this might be the Unreal Engine horror game for PS3/Vita. Just guessing though.

That's also due to Toriyama's inhability to write. He narrates the whole thing through monologues/ datalogs/ recaps, instead of setting up the plot in such a way that we can feel those details.

Guy has great story idea's and concepts. It's the whole "pulling it off" that needs work.

But some have said that Daisuke's writing at least for XIII was worse. They might need a bigger writing team for checks and balances.

If they can do that and improve and possibly perfect overall execution many including myself would probably like it more.

As for feeling details we kinda need to see them happen. And not have it happen overnight.

One of my issues with even Type 0 is that some things you don't get to see, and I understand it was on a handheld but I still wanted to see it.

The fates of certain L'cie for example

The writing has been on the wall for a while now... not sure why you would have thought otherwise.
Because it's Square and nothing they "show" us makes any sense :/

Daisuke Watanabe also wrote FFXIII-2, didn't he? :P I know he was especially responsible for FFXII's midgame narrative and FFXIII's Pulse+ narrative.

Here's how Watanabe wrote those two sections from those two games:
1. Party is told to go to a place.
2. Main character makes a big-ass monologue, and the story is told this way. Other characters react in a generic way.
3. Something interesting (or not) starts to happen somewhere else, and the party is told of this while they're still stuck in the dungeon/ field/ whatever place it is.
4. They reach the end of the place. Another monologue narrates the next event of the story.
5. Plot twists are told through monologues. Party reacts in a generic way.
6. Back to 1 and repeat. Party is told to go somewhere else.

It's as dry as it can get. Maybe Watanabe is more responsible for the monologue-narration than Toriyama, though.

But add Toriyama, and you have plot holes, contradictions, stupidity, forced drama, deus ex machinas, perverted jokes, anti-climaxes, and overall unfocused, underdeveloped plots worthy of fanfiction. Oh, and at least one character that will point their gun to an ally.

A.K.A: "If you can't beat Toriyama,just join him." :D

If duck likes Toriyama, then he should like 3rd Birthday at least!

I like XIII and XIII-2 for other reasons though: battle gameplay, music, and graphics, something that Toriyama has little to no involvement with.

Toriyama's the lesser of 2 evils but yeah both of them usually hold each other's hand in a majority of projects they've done.

You can go through their work history and often see the 2 writers together in many different titles for SE.

Wow, no wonder it felt like the story lost all momentum on Pulse.

But will she be happy?

will lightning be in this one i wonder

Lightning Saga...
Lightning Room...

I think there's a trend here.

Well it shows
How she ended up in crystal
.

It was still terrible.

The worst part was the overdramatic cutscenes trying to get you to care for Lightning x Serah once again. zzz. Lightning basically giving up at the end was a major cop-out as well. Lazy writing on Toriyama/Watanabe's part.

Yeah, I didn't say that it was good. I just said that something happened :)
