That woman was beautiful.

This has probably been posted before, but I read this on the Breaking Bad Wikia:

"Heisenberg", the actual Werner Heisenberg from which he derived his criminal alias, was born on December 5, 1901, at Würzburg, and was a German theoretical physicist who made foundational contributions to quantum mechanics. He was also 'investigated' by the SS before his acceptance into the Nazi controlled scientific reich. After the war Herr Doktor Heisenberg was hunted by the Soviets for his brain until his death. One of his main contributions to science was the uncertainty principle (hence, this being the probable cause for Walter choosing Heisenberg as his alias). Heisenberg died of cancer in 1976.

The second Skyler Grabs an AK-47 out of the family gun cabinet and gets ready to blast a potential burgler, she gets a tiny but of the Carmela cred. Skyler can't even properly throw him out of the house like Carmela.

She's just the weakest actress on a show full of juggernaughts. It's a shitty position to be in for Anna Gunn, but there you have it.

One supports her husband and is loved, one doesn't and is hated. No surprise.

"Through thick and thin, for better or worse..."

I would think the whole through thick and thin thing would go out the window when your partner makes meth and kills people.

I don't agree. The writers have her as Walt's regular antagonist/foil to play on his secret life of crime, to keep tension in the story at all times, even when Walt wasn't being hunted or under the thumb of someone on one side of the law or the other who could and did plan to capture/kill him...which is basically everyone of power or influence in his world. She's actually really good in her role...I mean, she is, by design, supposed to be this constant pain. It's not like Gilligan and Co. haven't studied and/or watched the classic crime flicks and shows...they're probably banking on a large percentage of the audience to also have the same TV/movie IQ they do as they play on those well-known standards. Hell, Gunn was told she was going to be Carmella Soprano and she got it immediately. Obviously, they're going to play with expectations, frustrate, and eventually thrill because that's fun to do and why we watch.

Skyler is a good character now but she certainly didn't start off that way. Talking pillow, new age medicine, support groups ugh. I could not stand her early on.

And has actually signed divorce papers. Skyler makes plenty of sense.

Then she would have to testify and her kids will forever hate her mostly Jr.

She was trying to be supporitve to her husband who just found out he had cancer. He was distant towards her.

lol the carmella vs skyler picture is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. What a horrible comparison. Completely different situations. And Carmella has shown much more independence and power in the context of her situation than Skyler ever has.

Carmela Soprano is a mob wife, cut from the same cloth, pure and simple.

Breaking Bad deliberately avoided creating another Carmela because it's been done.

What happens if she is complicit, but never truly accepts? Skyler White.

I don't buy Skyler, at all, tbh. If she feared for her kids as much as she claims she does, she'd get out of dodge. People nail Walter at every possible moment he avoids any possible "out". Skyler has many outs for herself as well. She chooses not to take any of them. She chooses to be complicit. She chooses to allow Walt to continue this. etc...

Not anymore considering she also did her own part in engaging in illegal behaviour.(The auditing and putting Ted in the hospital) She tries to fuck him over, and she's fucked as well.

People have a hard time with characters that aren't at polar extremes. Skyler is conflicted and obviously doesn't know what to do and as a result she stagnates and languishes emotionally. She tried to be a part of her husband's life but realized too late it was a mistake. She's not innocent, but she doesn't deserve any of what she's gotten.

She doesn't deserve my sympathy either. Bottom line is she could have gotten out. We're allowed to make excuses for her not for anyone else? Puh-lease folks. This show is breaking bad. Everyone is guilty in their own way. The only victims here imo are the children at this point. And Skyler chose not to help the definitive way.

I'm not saying she is a sack of shit that deserves to die, I'm just saying I'm indifferent. She chose her path when there were other options. Walt chose his path. Jesse chose his. Mike chose his. I'm just strapped in and enjoying the ride.

I disliked Skylar at first when she decided that eBay was more important than her husband, but since then I've felt really sorry for her. I think Anna Gunn is doing an amazing job of portraying the despair and the being "stuck" for her character.
