I should bribe everybody into liking me. How's the game?

It's pretty fun. The people who I've played against thus far have no idea what they're doing, so unfortunately I still don't know how the game plays under the proper conditions.

DID SOMEONE SAY PORNSTARS?!

Guy on the right. I need his name for research purposes.

Alexsander Freitas. You're welcome.

Which isn't a good thing. Mr. Rochester's supposed to be rather ugly, and the only ugly thing in that entire movie is Jamie Bell's hair.

A good performance is more important than physical appearance and Fassy is a fantastic actor. He can be anyone. (I've never read Jane Eyre).

That's no way to treat your personal tech support. Maybe it'll be more prominent when I don't have to keep my voice down.
Or maybe the dream really is dead.
I was hoping for an aye or too.
You still have time to replace your vocal cords.

Good to hear. Tools of Destruction is the only Ratchet game I've played, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.

No. I want my romantic movie about ugly people.

You need to get on that. It's one of my favorite books.

Does he burn ha;f his face off and become blind at the end?
He looks like a slightly older version of himself, but no, the crazy burn marks aren't there. The movie's worth watching though; it has a really creepy atmosphere, and even knowing the plot twist, it still set me on edge.

You really should play A Crack in Time. They improve upon (most of) ToD's mechanics in very exciting ways. I like it better than ToD.
It seems that most people are of that opinion, but I didn't care for either of the Ratchet or Clank demos for Crack in Time, and I actually couldn't finish the Ratchet demo. I've never understood why the game makes it possible to fall into ditches since that's clearly unintended.

I also played the Ratchet ACiT demo, and as a long time Ratchet fan, I have to say that it was indeed horrible. I haven't played it since it first came out, so I forgot exactly what problems I had with it, but yeah it wasn't good. It's not really representative of the full product IMO.

I associate 1313 with Star Wars, so that must be what you're talking about.

It's a bunch of no budget gay films all filmed in the same gaudy mansion. The boys run around half naked in their undies the whole time, go swimming, get murdered.

Doesn't matter which one it is. They all drag on endlessly. It's hilariously bad.

How do you watch them? Youtube? Or do you have to buy them?

I'll check it out then, since the game should be really cheap (isn't it a Greatest Hits title?) I wish the Ratchet and Clank collection included the Future Trilogy as well; it'd be an instabuy.

Shitty movies and shows are fun to watch sometimes. Maybe I'll give those a shot to see just how terrible they are.

OMG, that trailer. So cheesy.

The HD Collection is already an instabuy. :O

They are on Netflix. Really terrible though. Maybe if you're drinking everytime a guy in his underwear walks on it might be bearable lol.

Hmmm. I might check them out sometime. If I'm really bored.

The kicker is they all have different "plots" like UFOs or killer bees or jealous brother... but it's all the same in the same house just different guys.

Buying a new PS3 and a game or two. Señor Lonche, which game should I start with, Yakuza 3 or Yakuza 4?

Also how is Journey and all of the other collections? I never had a PS2 so it'll be all new for me. Is Jak an adventure game or a platformer?

To stay relevant, Paul Blow = sexy as fuck when bottoming.

with a cover like that, there's really no surprise. even drinking i don't think it's worth it. i think it'd just ruin the buzz as there's far better films you could watch that have folks in underwear or whatever gets you off.

I don't want non-future Ratchet games! I'm all about the future man.

Definitely go for Yakuza 4, and if you like it, go back and play Yakuza 3 for a bit of backstory. If you don't like it, never return to this thread again.

I bought the Jak and Daxter Collection and didn't care for it, but it's definitely a platformer.

Sleeping Dogs! Cause Wei Shen and Conroy are sexy as hell.
Even with Sleeping Dogs' rather incredible (actual endgame spoiler)
torture scene, complete with organs and drills entering knees
, Yakuza's story beats are so much better than anything in former game, and the fidelity of Kamurocho and the amount of content in Yakuza 4 wins out over Sleeping Dogs.

Which console version is better? While my 360 is back from the grave I wouldn't mind to use it if the PS3 version sucks.

The 360 version is purportedly noticeably better.

Jak 1 is a platformer. 2 and 3 are more open world/adventure with platforming elements. You should get that, as well as the Sly collection, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, both God of Wars, Ratchet and Clank, the inFamous Collection, and the MGS one too!

Gurl, you don't even know.

Alternatively Yaceka, if you're like me, you shouldn't get the Jak and Daxter Collection because you'll reach a point where the game gets too hard and you slam your Dualshock across your knee because you don't have enough collectibles and you can't get past the lava people and the guy will only give you _________ if you give him ____________ which requires going back to the stupid fishing minigame to get the last few __________s that you don't have because you need to spend five minutes getting eaten by piranhas just to get to that point. I played half an hour of the Sly Collection before deciding that I hated Sly 1 and was too spiteful to play the others.

Shadow of the Colossus is a bit dull; inFamous is a bit ugly; God of War is God of War; and I can't get past the first screen of Metal Gear Solid, so I never bothered with the rest of the games in the series. Buy Uncharted and Critter Crunch and if you're don't mind dipping into PS1 games, Suikoden and Klonoa are excellent. I don't own any PS3 games besides Nier, Yakuza, and Uncharted, so you should take my advice.

And play the first half hour of Tools of Destruction. I love future cities!

Buy Uncharted.

I was actually a few days late on the Amazon deal where if you bought a PS3, you got UC3 for free. I don't think I'll be buying the series any time soon.

I just realized I have 20 Xbox 360 games that I will never be able to play once the console finally dies. Am sad. :'(

Gonna have to buy the PS3 versions of my games now because they'd probably trade in for like $2. Oh man I never got to finish Nier either. I remember when everyone in GayGAF was going gaga over it. I think I finished like 3 of my 360 games. I seriously have a problem when it comes to quitting game halfway through.

my shelf also cries. i'm afraid either system will go, and i'm not buying another anytime soon. I don't think I've finished a single PS3 game that I own. I feel so disconnected playing it compared to the 360. Though I've only played maybe half of my 360 games :\

What PS3 games do you own, and more importantly, what PS3 games do you not own?

This post makes me sad. :( Do you feel the same way about Ico?

I also see no mention of Demon's Souls! Also, if you enjoy Silent Hill-esque horror games, try Siren: Blood Curse.

I also see no mention of Demon's Souls!
I still want to buy the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection, as I didn't give the game a proper shot--mostly because I found it difficult. I haven't tried Ico though, which is 80% of the reason I need to buy the collection.

And people should buy Demon's Souls! The ten hours or so that I played were excellent and if it weren't for the fact that I deleted my save file, I'd have added the game to my fledgling PS3 collection.

let's see. Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Demon's Souls, 3d dot heroes, buzz, R&C future, infamous, disgaea 3, warhawk, resistance, MGS4, valkyrie chronicles, ffxiii, ico & shadow of the colossus.

i've stopped buying them cuz i don't have time to play/finish them all. :(

Most people tend to say that Shadow of the Colossus is the better game of the two, but I found Ico to be more captivating. So definitely get the collection when you can. :) And it's not that expensive, thankfully (especially if you get it used).

How did you feel about the difficulty in Demon's Souls? :p

I'm a bit surprised that of all of those games (especially Uncharted 2) you didn't find any that grabbed you. I made the mistake of making Valkyria Chronicles my first PS3 game, so I wasn't too excited about the PS3 either, but Yakuza 3 and Uncharted quickly rectified that.

ICO > SOTC. SOTC is pretty simple once you get the controls. aside from one or two of the colossi, it gets really repetitive really quickly. it never quite captures the feeling that ICO had for me. something about the girl and the constant threat which added a puzzle element to the game

i honestly haven't tried most of them. gaming on the PS3 has always felt kind of dead to me. disconnected. plus i really just don't have a lot of time for gaming in general anymore. i'm usually busy doing other things, much like i should be working on this paper.

part of it could simply be the lack of active friends there or something. the 360 has just always felt more connected. it's fantastic for games like fable when they're released as you're playing and watch your friends rushing through the same world and say hi to them as they pass or swap stuff with them and what not.

It's definitely on my list, albeit low on it. Now that the price has permanently dropped to $20 there's no rush, and I'd like to eventually play the HD collection on an actual HD display.

I didn't mind it. Most of my difficult problems come from the fact that I have poor reflexes and hand-eye coordination, and either neither of those came into play in the time I spent with the game, or they wren't an issue, because I found Demon's Souls easier than I was expecting. It was still a good challenge of course, but I had more problems figuring out where to go than I did with the enemies.

This is one of the primary reasons I haven't picked up the game. I realize the merits of Shadow of the Colossus, but it doesn't sound like it's for me.

You should add me then! I mean, I won't be able to use my PS3 for a couple of months, but I use PSN's messaging feature more than most people do, so I can make sure you feel remarkably connected. I've definitely enjoyed using the console more since my PSN friends list ballooned from one friend to 57 or so.
