School? Excitement? My last semesters I was almost crying when school was about to start. Hopefully I'll never have return there. I think it was just my school and the fact that I had a terrible luck with teachers, but just thinking about the insane workload, projects, months of 2 hours of sleep a day... That shit scarred me for life.

speaking about games I jsut bought Megaman Powered Up and Final Fantasy II for PSP , were pretty cheap and was looking for something to play while in the bathroom....

I've heard FF2 is the worst of them all, is it that bad? I am expecting a FF1 clone of sorts.

Didn't play it but if it has the loadings of the Ps1 games... Ugh.

Eh it's the worst, but probably because of how basic it is compared to all the other ports and games. You could do far worse, and classic FF gameplay still has it moments.

I'm slowly getting less excited for the game. I was under the impression that Dead or Alive 5 was supposed to attract people like me who were turned off by the game's rampant fanservice, but the recent screenshots and swimsuit costumes lead me to believe otherwise.

Er-So ignore the outfits? Don't download/buy them. Don't pick them when you unlock them? Don't pay attention to the people that use them (me) and lose? :D?

Booo no Ps3 version :(

Er-I am getting it on PS3. But given the series (1-4) was X-box/360 only for most of this generation/last generation I have the A/B/X/Y notations in my head.

I thought everyone knew XIII was the worst one.*

II is different, that's for sure--and you'll see why almost as soon as you start playing. I found it to be enjoyable, though it's been years since I played it (GBA version). It's only memorable because how exploitable and backwards the mechanics are. It has some pretty good tracks, too, of course.

There's nothing here

it is SO weird how tecmo/team ninja made DOA3, 2U and 4 all xbox then they made it multiplatform.

Same thing with ninja gaiden. Was it just an Itagaki thing?
Yes. Plus, they'd be crazy to keep a fighter to one console these days.

2 was okay until you got to the final dungeon and had to flip-flop your stats if you were raising magic because suddenly weapons were needed. TROLLFACE.jpg Then it became shitsux/fuckthisshit tier.

FF3 is the WORST FF otherwise.

Yeah, class starts wed. I'm actually excited for my classes and my schedule isn't too bad.

I'm kind of excited for certain classes, but my schedule is a bit messed up due to lack of space in other mandatory classes. It'll get a bit better once all that gets sorted out.

This year I need to manage time better and sleep some.

Sleep is for the weak.

It is going to be intense for me but my thurs. and fri. are fairly empty. What's your major anyways?

That's been the motto the past couple of years, haha. Started to take its toll though, need to fix it.

I'm pursuing a bachelor of graphic design. It's been fun because I love creative work, but the demanding schedule and overlapping projects get rough after a while. Lots of all nighters. What are you studying?

Biology going pre-med. My roommates are also graphic design majors, they stay up so late :P. For me, it's is mostly memorization and understanding the concepts of everything along with writing 15 page reports weekly. But its my junior year, it will be hectic if I pursue to take MCAT in the summer. at least my senior year will be better

Interesting, what kind of career would you want to pursue ultimately? I've always found biology fascinating. Pardon my ignorance, what's an MCAT?

MCAT is the medical collage admission test. It is the exam that is required to take to get into medical school. It is like the test you'd take in high school that collage looks at. ACT or SAT. idk what canada has. I think I want to be a neurologist(brains) or oncologist(cancer) but right now I just have to pass classes, ;p. I am job shadowing at a hospital and I get to see surgeries and I love it in the surgical room, the atmosphere and the 'orchestra' that plays in that room is remarkable.

For graphical design are you thinking games or CG for films? I know my roommates dream is to work at Pixar.

Ah I see. Yeah in Canada there aren't SATs, Universities and Colleges just look at your GPA from grades 11 and 12. That's awesome about the job shadowing, sounds like a fascinating process to witness. Wish I had a stronger stomach for that stuff.

The program I'm in is more oriented toward print, motion, web, and editorial graphic design. It would be cool to work in games or CG, but that would require more schooling in a more closely-related program.

Regardless I have a similar dream of working at PIXAR someday haha. I've always loved animation but my skills weren't up to snuff to get into animation school. For the time being I'm hoping to specialize in motion graphic design and maybe apply that to film or TV or maybe even UI design for games. And maybe animation school someday.

The job system is good though. I didn't have a problem with the final dungeon either.

The job system requires too much grind for my taste compared to FF5's. Good introduction/evolution from FF1->2->3 to that, but poor execution. The dungeon is just brutal for me to sit there for two hours and have to worry about a gameover ending my run there.

Dreamworks supposedly is a great place to work, better than Pixar.

I see. I tend to grind a whole lot in RPG's anyway, so I didn't have a problem.

I get on my knees before you.

*unzips*

Oh thats cool.

Yeah! I frequent Art of the Title, some really inspiring stuff in that field. I'd be very content if I could pull off creating something even half as good as some of the works featured someday.

Interesting. I'll admit I'm not really aware of the studio culture over at Dreamworks, but even if it is better I think PIXAR's is a legacy I'd rather contribute to. That would really be something.

Well DOA1 and 2 were on Sony platforms. Itagaki the "went western" with microsoft for most of the games later Ninja Gaiden getting ports by other teams where Itagaki didnt said anything

May I add you to PSN to have more sparring partners?

It's more that it doesn't seem like Dead or Alive 5 knows what it wants to be--the game wants to be taken seriously yet still panders to the straight male demographic, and it makes it easy for me to overlook. At least a game like Rumble Roses knew what it was and was comfortable with it. And somebody's cocky. I'll take you any day.

May I add you to PSN to have more sparring partners?
You should also add me on PSN to not have more sparring partners!

Can we post pics of hot guys again?

yes.

I'd stay a night at the Bates hotel.

Unfortunately I've seen less Hitchcock films than I'd like. I wish some theatre around here would marathon them, it'd be cool to see them on the big screen.

"But guy X isn't attractive because I like Y, not Z."

I hadn't either until I took a Hitchcock course in the spring. I managed to see The Birds with the Prof in a theater in Chicago, Tippi Hedren was there. I think I've only see like 8 hitchcock films, all from that class. It was great.

These discussions always end up like that but I think we can all agree that Joseph Gorden Levitt and Zooey Deschanel are the most adorable 'thing' to grace this planet

I guess I'm going to start the men discussion where we all rip out each other's throats for having different tastes, but as someone with narrow shoulders, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has really narrow shoulders.
