Infamous banned gaffers

What about the guy who turned into ioi at ********? Is ******** even still around? I don't think I have seen anyone mention them, even to bash their numbers, in like 2-3 years....
Edit: Okay so chartz is still censored. But it doesn't seem like anyone really cares about them now. Maybe because this console generation is pretty much over...

They were funny sometimes. I think the problem is that his posts would regularly result in 20+ quotes with reaction gifs. That was more annoying than the posts themselves.

Meeru, banned for Ebaying Dota 2 Beta keys he got from Icefrog to give to NeoGAF, among some other things, and hilariously makes new accounts constantly which get banned usually under 24 hours of pointing. My favorite is when he actually bought a 4 year old account which still got banned in under a week.

fuck.. blame getting banned is the only one ive ever cared about

gonna watch breaking bad and get drunk tomorrow.. he would have wanted it that way
 
blamespace(didn't even know he got banned :( ),JBaird(was just a lurker then but still), and a couple others I'm forgetting.

fistfullofmetal is the other one I'm forgetting. His obsession with Natalie Portman was ridiculous.
 
Classics that come to mind currently are Wollan, fistful, and Jasoco. fistful never really contributed a bunch to a specific community, but both Wollan and Jasoco were huge losses imo.

I still miss Jasoco in the OS X threads. :(


Also, Crushed and Ami aren't perm-banned, right?
 
the only one mentioned here that i got to see being banned live was fistfulofmetal.

the thread was full of ridiculous lol-worthy arguments and then the whole ad-block thing came up and the rest is history. i still miss his insane threads about natalie portman just for the lulz they caused.

Wait, what, makes? As in he is still doing this or was recently? Wasn't the DOTA thing more than a year ago?
 
Why the fuck can't GAF just have a list of all perm-banned users within the past two months or something? These meta-discussions (+meta-threads) and general confusion only arise due to the lack of information. If we KNEW x user was not perma'd, there wouldn't be a big discussion about it, and if we knew they WERE, there'd also wouldn't be a big discussion about it.

Counter productive at this point to keep it all 'on the down low' and whatnot.

There would still be threads. In fact there would be threads to complain about each and every post in such a thread.

I think it just shows how cool you are when you get to look down on people who don't know why someone was banned. It's a part of GAF's mystique.

I wish the find more posts by this user option worked on mobile. So difficult to figure out how people got banned this way.

Or just have a mod edit the post that got the person banned to say something like "this user was banned for this post for x days/months or permanently"

Still at it. He got one of his account banned a few weeks ago. Poi or something like that, can't remember because I don't care.

You can't quote the edit text. It'd just be in that 'reason for editing' field where it shows up in the bottom right corner. Not a hard thing to do, just edit the post changing nothing but adding that edit reason text.

I doubt they'd do even that.
 
Why was MAF banned? I never knew why that happened because everyone on OldGAF refused to talk about it for some reason.
