Xbox Live Fall 2012 Dashboard Public Beta - Signup Now

We have an Xbox upstairs in the den and one in the basement. Has anyone tried re-downloading the Registration App on a second Xbox that you use the same sign-in ID you use on your first Xbox? The update just appeared on the upstairs Xbox, and I'd like to have it on the other one.

As I said, we use the same Gamertag on both boxes.
I think the update is tied to the serial number of your Xbox (that's what the app on your Xbox is for), but it's worth a try for sure.

I am having a hell of a time getting my 360 repaired under warranty, simply because I am in this beta. The website process wont allow it and sends me to the connect site. The connect site has no obvious place for service, writing in a generic help form ends up with no reply. Finally I called MS, even the tech on the phone after 30-45 minutes hits a brick wall, tells me they'll escelate it and get back to me in a few days.

Kind of really stupid. Has anyone in a Xbox beta program had success scheduling a warranty repair and how did you do it?

It's really stupid that being in the beta, which I dont even really care about, apparantely means you simply cant have your Xbox serviced.

Another annoying thing, and they may be related, is that MS doesn't really recognize "extremely loud disc drive" as a problem. Ever since I got my new slim the disc drive is unnaturally loud when it spins, enough to be annoying when playing games, and WAY louder than my older Jasper unit I had before it. I figured it will only get worse and I'd like to take care of it now while under warranty right? Well, even apart from the beta dash issue, MS is pretty reluctant to do anything. The phone girl kept trying to tell me it's normal, the slims have loud disc drives, and all this crap, over and over, that they have to preselect a reason to do a warranty repair and loud disc drive isn't an option, etc. It was tough to even get her to try a repair order (at which point we run into the beta dash brick wall described above)

God that sounds awful, don't make me scared :/

The Beta forum is a mess, it seems like the team does nothing or answer anything.

They read the forums. You can't honestly expect them to reply to every post?

not every post no. But some heads ups would be nice.

Let's say my problem is my HDD, what do I do? how do I get the file from my HDD ? .. How do I get all my other files back?

I have one in the bedroom and one in the living room. I just redownloaded the app from my download history.

Worked a treat.

I'm sure that when I registered on the Connect site it asked how many xboxes I had.

Yeah I think this Free to Play system is going to make Microsoft and their consumers pretty happy.

Now all we need is to get PSO2 on this thing.....

oh man, if they released PSO2 as f2p on the 360 someone would have to pry the controller out of my hands.

Since the latest update my Xbox keeps being unable to connect to my wifi. If I go Network Settings, it sees the network but says it has zero strength so can't connect. No issues with any other devices. Really weird.

(Yes, I will report it in the Beta forums.)

Just wondered if anyone else had anything similar.

i havent had a problem with wifi since the latest update.

Yep, our dashboard is messy as hell now. A mix of Dutch and English, capitalized words and lower case ones. Really inconsistent, I hope the final product doesn't look like this because it feels really lazy and for the most part would only take 10 minutes to fix.

Was our typing area always in qwerty? I seem to remember it being in azerty, but now it's not, and I'm not sure. :lol

its a glitch that I encountered as a cleric. im lvl 30 because of it.

where the arrow cannon will rebuild and destroy itself instantly over and over again in a loop , giving you thousands of XP

Yeah, I believe I was a cleric as well.
Were all the other characters blinking/flashing? Seemed like everything was going uber fast.

ESPN app has been updated. It has a new interface similar to the new dashboard.

yeah its been up for a week or so. the interface is much better now than the last craptastic update. i still havent checked into it enough to see if its back to its former glory though.

im thinking it still has some glaring flaws left over from the last fuck up. i noticed some categories seem to be completely missing so far, not sure what else sucks yet.

good that they are working on improving it though. the last update sucked a dick.

Fairly sure it was azerty. Wait no, it was actually set as ABCD...for me.

I read that 3 times and i still dont know what ur saying.

If you are playing on live when the update comes out. (Lets say you are in the middle of playing a public Call of Duty match). It'll just say Disconnected From Xbox Live. You're kicked out of the game, your xbox live party etc... Then when you push Connect to Xbox Live. It says update available and you have to push yes to install in order to play online. Then, it takes a good 5-6 mins to install. Then, you get back online and explain to ur friends why u magically disappeared for no reason mid sentence of you talking lol.

my unremovable pins are still there. still broken here :(

scratch that. after completely unistalling IE (both the app ant the settings files) and redownloading it those pins were loaded into IE as bookmarks and i was finally able to unpin them!

:)

Got theupdate finally.

Explorer is pretty awesome
Dashboard much more cleaner now
Thos pin things are ok, I was hoping you could pin things on your main dashboard when you start the console or at least one or two of them but I guess MS just wants to rape me with those ads instead.

Agreed. The updates should come out at like 4am or so, not 7pm on Friday Nights.

The beta updates get pushed live to all members at the same time. So if they choose a time that suits you it would be in the middle of my gaming time here in Europe.

That's just not how it works. And it is really not a big deal. If it irritating for you don't sign up in the first place. You know this going into the beta.
