Sadly not. I've been following TWiT and co. for years and it's been really sad to watch them turn to shit over the past few years. Leo does seem to be mildly senile, wildly out of touch, and unfunny in the worst way sometimes. Doesn't help that he's been extra negative on Apple since he bought the note last year. He's betting against the iPhone 5 again despite being dead wrong on the 4S last year.
If they weren't a joke already, they will be after their puppet show. Their coverage typically consists of a few people reading the major live blogs like everyone else. Of course I'll watch it because there aren't many people doing constant live streams during the event.

I still enjoy twit enough. I like Leo, even though he's a bit of a muppet. Maybe BECAUSE he is a muppet.
Yes, he's often wrong, but I think he likes to just be confident about his opinions. He's no afraid to just make a choice instead of fence-sitting worrying about being wrong.

If fine to be confident about your opinions, but when history proves you dead wrong again and again, you would think you would have an ounce of humility and not make the same 'confident predictions' again, pretending as if nothing happened and not learning why you were wrong in the first place. It's embarrassing and shred any hint of credibility from that individual. It's like those that predicted failure for the 4S, were epically wrong, and have kept on predicting doom for Apple since then with every product launch, in a mocking, hubristic way, reality and facts be damned.
Either way it was probably the right decision for Apple to make, for a variety of reasons. As much as I would've rather had a 3:2 4"..

I really don't think he cares about stuff like that. I think he does it as sort of a joke, like take the least favoured opinion as a gag. He'll often go yeah you're probably right but I'm just going to say 'x'.
I think that's probably why I enjoy it. He's big wig enough to pull in people with proper opinions and so balances it out with his own joke ones. makes the show feel a little less serious and analytical.
I'm not saying ta a top quality show, I'm just saying I enjoy it.
Yep. The Apple event had its ups and downs. The iPhone 5 camera demo was very impressive, but the miniPad left a lot to be desired, even though the slide-out QWERTY keyboard looked nice.

If they indeed announce the iPod Touch, that'd be a first for them, no? The new iPods are usually announced a few months after the iPhone, at a separate iPod event in September. Did they announce the revamped/white touches with the 4S?

Never happened to me but this time i too think that the new iPhone will sell not bad but a bit less than the 4S and if there isn't any killer feature people will tend to buy the 4S more than the 5
It won't be a bomb of failure, but it probably won't match the 3 to 4 or 4 to 4S in terms of success (as in version to version growth).

the fact that it's a completely new design, bigger screen, and more will be why it sells more. People said the same about the 4S. Never underestimate Apple's ability to market their products by highlighting any new features as something big. And they aren't wrong. All new design, bigger screen, better everything else, etc... are big deals. Also their own maps and stuff built in.
They have a lot to go off of.
I would argue the balance of Apple-fellatio and opinions otherwise is pretty good TBH.

Chill out dude. I'm stating a fact, in that there's a huge click-whore media meme of APple is doomed. Where did I say that people are saying this specifically in this thread or on this board? This is the least trollish board that I know of on the internet. I'm saying on every other tech site/blog, comments sections sent to be overwhelmingly anti-Apple, as opposed to what actually happens in real life. What's the problem with my observation, and what the hell does that have to do with insecurity? I was commenting on the mentality of towing the same line when history proves you wrong, and calling out those who do that. I don't remember posting any 'the world is against me' tripe, stop misrepresenting what I say.
EDIT: Just scanned your recent posts, and as expected, every single one of them is anti-Apple in some way, you seem to hate the company, their policies, products, etc and spazz out with JESUS ITS JUST A PHONE whenever anyone expressed anything positive about them, as well as calling the OS 'crappy' and championing Android whenever you can. So yeah, please GTFO pretending to be some type of rational observer. Why the hell are you in this thread if you have nothing good to say about the company or their products, and you're so disappointed with them? That's what's getting old.

Why wouldn't at least match the success apple saw when the 4S came out? This phone has more advancements than the 4-->4S launch.
not to say you are wrong, since none of us know, but what are you basing this on? it seems likely that this redesign (taller phone, LTE, blahblahblah) will be a much bigger deal than the 4s.
Way too much legitimate alternatives now, and in the next 6 months. The advancements they're putting through aren't exactly novel, even if they are wanted. The 4/4S's most important factor was it's build quality. The 6 will be on the same level, probably slightly higher, but still not enough to stand out as much as those did.

even though I think all people predicting what you're saying will be wrong (like every year), if you do end up right, I don't think it will be for ANY other reason other than carriers purposely pushing products that aren't iphones over the iphone. It's already happening, we know it's out there, we know they don't like the power apple has. Carriers hold a lot of influence.
They will be the first and the biggest reason it happens, if it were to happen.
the current one. It is a new design... What's your beef? You want new volume buttons or something? It's a phone with a bigger screen, the back is different, the ports are different, the form is different (thinness), etc....

If MS doesn't completely screw Nahkia over this holiday season, I think that 920 will be spectacular.
That's probably a big factor, especially since the next batch of adopters for smartphones are first time users, and Apple doesn't have that clout anymore.
Plus, save for a few, there wasn't really contenders to Apple in the previous years, at least not for the market Apple has been dominating.

I think "completely new design" is far too strong a compliment. This is more an iteration. 3GS-4 was a completely new design. I was hoping for more along those lines.

Why is it parody? He calls me out angrily whenever I say anything positive about Apple, and his posts have shown himself to be a troll that rails against everything that Apple does, including fake outrage at their made in China products, like all the good anti-apple trolls, whose houses are filled to the brim with made in china stuff from every company on the planet. I'm asking him why he's in this thread if the company enrages him so much and he believes their products suck. Isn't that a fair question?

BTW, I want to see it irl to determine whether I like the two tone better than the all glass on the 4/4S. I still think that is the peak of Apple design so far. So beautiful.
It's a completely new design. It's machined from a single piece of metal (unibody) to be thinner and stronger, we'll here a lot more about it tomorrow.
The 4 was one of the most successful designs ever. There are many reasons it doesn't suddenly have the appearance of an oversized android phone.

It's an evolution in my eyes, the front looks the same but stretched, it has a similar 'shape' from the front, the edges follow a similar pattern, it's just the back that looks different to me.
