So, today was my very first day with glasses and I feel really uncomfortable.

I hope I get used to them soon. Still a bit dizzy.

I also have a crush on Heino Ferch now thanks to the post Sphinx made, that guy is unbelievably handsome! :)

Don't worry about it. After a few days you'll get used to them. I remember getting mine back when I was 11 and this was early 90's so the frames were pretty thick back then. Eventually you'll get so used to them you'll forget about them completely. Just don't fall asleep with them on lol (I've done that a few times).

I was devastated the day I got my glasses in 2nd grade. Had to be dragged by the arm into the classroom by my teacher, and was flailing around a lot in protest. Punched her in the gut, good times.

The worst part is noticing the frames in your peripheral vision, but they'll melt into the background in a few days and you'll forget they're even there.

My first pair of glasses were eye-opening. Everything was soooo clear. I kept thinking to myself: 'So this is how I should see things?".

my vision started going bad after age 10. when i entered middle school i was squinty. Teacher always asked me why and i said it was nothing. eventually they asked me to go get my eyes checked but i never did. skip a few years later to age 17 when i took my driver lesson at school. i drove with nothing on the road... LOL. i had to get it when i went to go get my license.

You will get used to it. You look good with them.

Do you still wear them?

Do you still wear them?

On and off, depending what I'm up to that day. But I'm still kind of new to contacts (got them a year and a half ago or so) so I've been wearing those more often for a change. Wanting to get new frames, but I feel my options are limited.

I could never wear contacts. I'm one of those people whose very defensive about my eyes. Hell, I've only ever used eye drops once and even that was a chore.

I didn't think I could wear them either, the day I got them the optometrist wouldn't let me leave until I successfully put them in and removed them several times on each eye and my eyes weren't having it. Crazy sensitive, it took upwards of a half hour to get the hang of it.

i hated glasses the first few times i had them. i'd only wear them on or off. i remember one time in marching band i couldn't see the drum major and some of the other drummers were screwing up the beat, and they stopped and called us out. i couldn't see her at all, but apparently was the only one on time. i lucked out, but figured it was time to try contacts again :)

i enjoy having my contacts, but can't wear them all the time. if you're sick or near a lot of smoke or something, contacts f'n suck. eyes get all itchy and shit.

i usually only wear them if i'm going out or doing something where they might get knocked off.

Visine, friend. I used to hate the sensation of eye drops but it's worth the minor discomfort for the relief from itching.

Scared some people off signing and learned some dirty signs. Oh, sign language~

so long as i have contacts in, eye drops do little for me when i'm sick. i'm fine with glasses so just do that and stay home. it's the best solution :)

Do share?

you know, anything with a moderate amount of movement ;)

@TheSeks: you doing ASL or what?

Glasses are awesome. I tried contacts but they hurt my eyes. They are also great sunglasses (except in cars <_<)

Also Señor Sagitario is correct, guys with glasses are hot, especially when they don't wear their glasses. Its like their nude.
a friend said it like that, I tend to agree

I've known some for a while. I'm trying to retain and expand it.

That's fantastic. Keep it up.

This sounds terrifying to me. I can't really touch my eye.

To be fair, if you're doing it right you don't touch your eye at all. My eyes were freaking out at having the lenses on them. The rapid-blinking reflex goes away after a week or so, then it's easy!

It's still something foreign touching my eyeball. Plus I've seen it fold up on people or try to escape to the side of the eye.
Why? I'm doing it to spite a few assholes.

Well learning is learning. :p

Ok yeah, that part does really suck. Spent a nearly an hour the other night trying to fish out a broken lens, not fun.

Since were talking about glasses, these are the frames I wear. I don't wear them normally because even though I've had them for two years, I cant get used to them. Everything seems closer than it is, and messes up my depth perception. Granted, I don't wear them often enough, which apparently you're supposed to. But, meh.

You'd eventually get used to them and your eyesight would be clearer and more accurate. How frequent do you wear them?

You look good in your glasses! Glasses are annoying at first but you will get used to them.

I realized I needed glasses back in seventh grade when my German teacher yelled at me for asking the person next to me what the board said. I thought she was a total bitch after that. It was a revelation to be able to see details of things farther than 2 feet away from me.

Glasses can be strange at first but you should get used to them after a couple of weeks. It sounds like your prescription might not be completely correct though. You should wear them more since you look good in them!

how is learning more ASL spiting a few assholes? I think it'd be nothing but a good thing. there's a lot of people here who do it, and i love trying to sign with them.

cute!

you get used to it. when i first tried them, they were so uncomfortable and my eyes just itched and watered for several days. i carried along eye drops and stuff. eventually you get used to it, and now they have certain brands that are much, much more comfortable than they used to be. much more breathable and stuff so it's harder to notice them and you don't need eye drops as much.

just don't sleep in them. no matter what anyone says. don't do it, it's terrible for your eyes.

i actually did a study today where they were testing some things about the eye and colors and how it might lead to nearsightedness. they were gonna do this thing where they put a filament on my eye to measure my eyes response, but the machine wasn't calibrated today, so i might have to come back.

It's a long story about the past month.

no, he really did. last night was a looooong night.

Uh-huh. The flaw in that logic is that the PSEye doesn't allow photos to be taken with it since it's a webcam. Nice try you two.

you can totes take pics with it! thats how everyone got dick pics as stickers in LBP and such!

I stopped reading right here. The PSEye in XMB/PSN level functions doesn't allow that. That's a software function in LBP.

That was harsh.

You know I love you, bb, but don't tease me like that.
