Those bastards!

Bonus :

As a NeoGAF fan, this literally makes me sick. NeoGAF's logo is a staple of our community, and it's not right for another company to basically copy and paste the logo and call it their own. Hopefully Evilore will sue or something, because this is so wrong.

We planned to give all that money to Africa but now we have to use that money for a lawsuit. How evil could this company be to even think of steal our logo.

I would be a large portion of my paycheck that this Noction company got their logo from one of those cheap crowdsourcing logo design sites, like 99designs and the ilk. That "quality logo" they received was from a "freelancer" was simply "inspired" by the NeoGaf logo.

Yet another reason why those sites are trash.

Is the Neogaf logo trademarked?

If not, they didn't steal it. Think of it as "creative inspiration".

I believe there's some level of protection that automatically comes into play the moment you create something. Or does that not cover things like logos?

There's one of these threads every month, but I have to say, this one is the most blatant. Exact same color scheme, and color schemes in logos can be trademarked, but IIRC they're only applicable to one industry. For example, the color of a skittles package is patented. This prevents other candy companies from using said color/scheme on their packaging, but using it in a cell phone company's logo would obviously be acceptable. It's to prevent confusion.

.... that said, their logo is also a palate-swapped pepsi logo.

There's a Car by my house that has a sticker on it that looks like the neogaf logo too. I've meant to take a picture of it, but the owner of that house is a really pain in the ass, so I never bothered.

Maybe I should now.
