Sakurai got caught sneaking into PlatinumGames' studio

Just in case anyone actually fell for this little piece of viral marketing... you can't "sneak into" Platinum's offices. They're in a big, secure high-rise and you need to go through multiple layers of security (and a Michael Jackson exhibit) just to get to an elevator.

So what does this mean...?

Clearly this means that Platinum Games is the developer for the forthcoming Smash Bros. games, much like GameArts was for Brawl.

I know you're joking, but actually I used to go to the gym in the same building as the Platinum Games offices (Umeda Sky Building) and you needed absolutely nothing to get in there. Just sayin' :P

Same as where I work now. You could just get all the way to the main entrance of our office where the logo of our company is, and just sit there waiting until someone opened the door (which happens a lot).

What? The MJ exhibit was in our building for a month and two weeks. It wasn't even really on our side of the building (except for the little annex part) and it never blocked access to the elevators. We were on a different floor then anyways.

We have security in our offices, but you can walk into the lobby. You won't get past there unless you are a guest, like Mr. Sakurai was, of course.

EDIT: As I have said on PG Break through... If you try to sneak in, you'll have to come in fast and hit us hard. We all know martial arts and we all speak ninja.

What martial arts does Kamiya practice?

ZSS wasn't broken, I don't see why Bayonetta would be either.

Guess the Captain Falcon brawler is true, Sakurai just needed to approve and give a bit more hands-on input for Falcon's character model, physics and move set. It's going to be glorious.

So seeing that Kamiya and Platinum Games are developing P100 for Nintendo now, what does that do for the chances of this Star Fox game happening?

Platinum is capable of making more than one game at a time, but that doesn't mean anything as no one would know aside those involved.

I'm still surprised how capable Platinum is. I thought of them as a medium-sized development studio, though no facts to support that, but they do seem to be doing fine essentially tackling Anarchy Reigns, Metal Gear Rising, and P100 all at once.

So, is Platinum Games about the only japanese studio working on stuff? Because I feel like aside from some paltry first party stuff from Nintendo, Platinum games were about the only japanese content on the E3 show floor. (I know it's a generalization, but still, dang they're working on a lot of things)

P-100 is a launch window title, so it shouldn't take too long for completion. The question is if, during his time there, Kamiya's desire to make a Star Fox game surfaced, and if Nintendo did anything with it. For all we know, this could be a one-shot project, or the beginning of a new collaboration to make Kamiya's dream project true. Who knows?

well, the fact that PG and Nintendo are collaborating is a step forward..especially now that sega will probably drop their support for PG.

but if it will ever be made,we will have to wait a lot.

Bayonetta and Starfox megatons are a long gone... but even with this P100 game, we still are searching the games!

What's the concensus with P100 already? Is anyone as cold as me?

Guys guys guys! What if that Star Fox and Metroid cross over was a mistake? What if it was a Star Fox and Bayonetta crossover? I mean, they could have mistaken a woman in skimpy outfit with massive tits for Samus. Maybe they saw Bayonetta teaming up with Fox McCloud.

What are the absolutely known facts on Bayonetta 2's "cancellation"? I felt like I missed the point where it evolved from more than random rumors.

Nobody who bothered to watch one of the gameplay videos, no.

Last year, someone leaked a list of games that would appear at TGS (or maybe it was E3, I can never remember). Everything on the list came true except for some new Monster Hunter game and Bayonetta 2 (and the list included things like Rhythm Thief and Bravely Default, so it wasn't just a bunch of easily-guessable games). After Sega announced that they were losing money and cancelling stuff, people started thinking that Bayonetta 2 had been cancelled. That's all.

Indeed, I saw the screen in P-100's OP and I was like 'meh...'.

Then I watched the gameplay video and was immediatly interested, it looks sick. I hope they'll keep multiplayer because I heard it was going to be single player in an interview. :/

It's labeled as single-player on Nintendo's site, I believe, BUT what you heard in the interview is probably the comment from the Gamespot walk-through, which actually says the game supports one WiiU GamePad -- which does not preclude multiplayer with pro controllers. The 20 seconds of four-player co-op footage in the official trailer looks rather fleshed-out, so I'd say there's a good chance they'll keep it. Either way, I badly want to play P-100. It and NSMBU are the two WiiU games I just want to grab a controller and play the shit out of (Pikmin 3 will be the same once I get a feel for its campaign).

Pretty much how my reaction went. Didn't really care that much from the screen shots but the IGN video sold me on the game 100% and now it's a buy for me. I just hope there is a good amount of replayability in the game if there is no multiplayer.

They're the only one given any love at E3, but there's lots of Japanese devs still active in the industry; namely Atlus, NIS, Falcom, 5pb, Sony Japan Studio, etc.

Multiplayer with this game could be just great, I saw that part in the trailer too and it got me hyped, local AND online please, there are no excuses for not making this darn game online anyway.
