Wii-U - Amazon listing UK prices and launch date

£249.99... I'll pass at launch. If it was going for £199, I'd have been all over these dudes!

wii u premium comes with zombiu in UK?

It can I believe. Instead of Nintendo Land. Thats how I read it anywhere.

Amazon's price stuff is ridiculous, I can only put it down to computer error, they've pulled the whole thing.

Really wish Nintendo would just say the RRP - seriously, what were seeing is basically companies watching each other and there could be silent price fixing in the end.

When I go on the Wii U page (premium) on amazon now it's back to the 'sign up to be notified...' Bit.

What's going on?

Preordered the white one from Amazon for £165.83 (VAT-exempt zone).

I fully expect them to argue this isn't the same bundle as the new basic pack, and to cancel the order.

Although I should be rewarded for having the day off and getting my pre-order in before they pulled the listing, the real world tends not to work like that.

Same for me! :)

Im going to argue like a mother-flipper if they cancel it. Already cancelled the £199 I had with them a few months back so I'll give them hell this time.

Quite often does with electronics, especially on Amazon as they try and compete with others.

I wouldn't be surprised if more bundle deals were offered by other retailers too.

The main one I'm interested in is the price in supermarkets- Asda and Tesco are almost guaranteed to flag it up with a good price the week before launch.

Yep, and amazon will likely counter that. They obviously have some lee-way given how much they've messed us around today!

Pre-ordered the premium just in case at 300.
If it doesn't go down I'll cancel it but at least I have a preorder now.

ShopTo have the black model for £296.86 but you also get back at least £7.42 in reward points, or double that if you are a gold member, so in a way that makes the black wii u £289.44

Was thinking about ordering from shopto but I might just go tesco instead at least I won't have to worry about getting ripped off that way.

Yep. I remember in the run up to the 3DS launch, Amazon kept reducing their price or offering freebies (free case, buy 1 game - get one free) practically every day until launch.

amazon had the white one for that price for about 10 minutes then everyone jacked it up a good £50 because there is no real RRP in europe from nintendo.

really don't think i'll get one now then. hopefully somewhere will lower it in time for launch. i'm assuming that GAME have set a ridiculous price?

Yeah, I ended up getting Ridge Racer free over the price I was expecting to pay for the console alone when I did the first pre-order, and that was still cheaper than just the console at retail.

I can't believe Im actually contemplating laying out over £300 just for the console when this morning i was hoping for £229 :/

i was hoping 400 would get me a Wii U with three retail games and perhaps some eshop vouchers. I'll have to settle on Wii U with two retail games.

Unless one of these shops pulls the trigger and drops it, expect to pay £300... Because at this rate the price ain't going no where.

Holy shit at these prices. Fucking ludicrous.

That said I will still be pre-ordering from my local Blockbuster (who ironically, still only have a placeholder price of £299 on their system).

Hopefully, the prices will come down before launch : /

I honestly do feel that the original gamestation tweet are costs all retailers could theoretically charge but as they've seen others charge higher they've decided "why bother, we can sell it at 300 and the early adopter chumps will still pay it"

It would be nice if amazon or others allow a choice of game for £300, at least then you know that extra money is going on a game you want (if you don't want zombi U)

I'd go with a pro controller thrown in 'wink' 'wink'

Honestly, I think that, like with the 3DS, internet websites are seeing the rush of pre-orders and are going HERP LET'S RAISE THE PRICE DERP. I can see it settling at £250 for the basic pack and £300 for the premium pack, which is both £50 too expensive for it to be a success, I think. The law of British Pricing sadly does not apply to hardware.

What the fuck happened? I was out of the house earlier when everything kicked off, quickly checked on my phone, saw it was going to be £200 and was pretty happy. I get home and it's £300+ :(

Did they learn nothing from the 3DS?

A lot of people seem to be confused about the different packs, so I went back into the video and took these shots.

The Zombi U version includes everything in the Premium version, a pro controller and Zombi U (Not sure if it is instead of N-Land or as well as.)
