Wii-U - Amazon listing UK prices and launch date

And that's good for you my friend, but untill I see some Smash/Metroid on the system, I'll hold off.

Fair play! I'm actually kinda suprised we haven't seen any of Nintendo's big franchises so far. At this point with the Wii, we'd seen footage of Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Twilight Princess, Smash Bros. Brawl... we knew they'd got a lot of stuff coming, even if it was only Zelda that was out at launch. Would have thought they'd at least be teasing the Wii U installments of some of their franchises.

Nintendo really seem to be into the "little notice" thing at the moment. Look at these Nintendo Directs - we didn't know about them 3 days ago.

Caved in and placed a pre-order for the Premium pack. Wish it was available in white but the other benefits of the Premium pack are more important.

Ideally, I want the ZombiU pack, so hoping Amazon add that at some point.

A good point, and when you own the platform anyway it's an awesome surprise when they can be like "Check out this new Metroid game! It comes out in two months!"

But for a console launch, you'd think they'd be a bit more open with what they have in the pipeline, to encourage people to actually jump on in the first place.

So does the premium I've got ordered. I mean it's cheaper to get a premium plus zombiu u than the get the Zombi u pack

If were talking about the 299 premium, then I dont think it is. On amazon placeholder prices are listed as 45 pounds, so you make a 14 pounds profit.

Yeah because greek TV makes stuff like Doctor who and the Thick of it. Oh and of course the best News station on TV and Radio in the world.

No because Greek tv actually shows them too :P And they also show lots of movies and stuff like that, in English. :P
And shit loads of channels.

Did you do live chat? Not working for me. I did email them though.

Live chat about 15 minutes ago.

Didn't screencap it, but someone else on Twitter did.

Strange, we never get any of your Greek television over here.

Its not like you could understand Greek , so it would be quite useless. :P

My point is the content of all the channels and not just one channel. From nice Greek movies and series (yes they make a few good ones). to English movies and series, to a few other international movies. I mean you could easily switch channels many times and find something interesting on all them.

We don't pay for all of our channels like you think...

A personal opinion.. get used to it :P
Certainly a very unique opinion. Still, given that you get all our "terrible" television shows, I'm sure you'll know the chap in my avatar well. Needless to say, he will be having the last laugh.

Oh you silly donkey. We get Scandinavian and French dramas among others on our terrestrial TV. Subtitles. Anyway, we digress again.

Got my confirmation email, and now I have a screen cap of the page with the "pre-order price guarantee" on it, and the bar above saying "you purchased this item on...". So, I guess i'm good to go if they try to cancel it. :D

are they honouring all £199 pre-orders as standard then? or is it case by case?

I guess it should be standard right now, as I doubt they'll go cancelling one by one based on if you contacted customer support or not, neither they're going to delete the listing (which is the usual method when this stuff happens) as they'll also lose the preorders for 264, 280 and 300 pounds peeps.

Ah well I got the £285 Wii U Premium bundle just before it went up to £300. Better than nothing.
But there is a tv tax ? aint there :P?
And having seen the alternative, I'm really glad there is. And with Sky+HD thrown in the mix with a ridiculous amount of HD channels, I could never wish for anything more.

The account that GameStation tweet came from then posted this later

that was the earlier price, they have changed it to prices that are higher than the ones amazon are listing.
Thanks, didn't realise that. I had the info from Eurogamer and assumed those were confirmed prices, shame they're not.

Read the thread.
Why post this? As I said above I got the info from elsewhere, since it was wrong why not tell me that like the above posters did instead of making a pointless post?

Its almost like someone has seen what happens to certain threads when you mention certain things...

Anyway, on topic!
Crazy that Amazon will honour those preorders, but its policy - lucky gaffers!

I'm still not getting my hopes up in regards to Amazon honouring my £199.99 price for the premium bundle, I've never had any kind of luck.

I got my premium slightly cheaper than that, so it works out cheaper for me to get them separately now :) not by much though.

Chuffed they seem to be honouring the pre-orders! Got black and white baby!

Also, when I stayed in Rhodes, the only channel worth watching was BBC World. All of the other channels was ad-riddled nonsense, reality shows and bollocks. Pretty much every Greek channel had the equivalent budget of something like "Dave" or "Viva". Crappy MTV shows like Pimp My Ride with subtitles and adverts every three minutes. Awful.
