Wii-U - Amazon listing UK prices and launch date

Nintendoland now back in and Premium is now the 24 months Nintendo stated, rather than the 3 months Amazon were quoting previously :/

Which is perfectly reasonable for a new console launch, wouldn't you agree? Considering that bundle you put together would include the premium console, four wii remotes, a nunchuck and a launch game? Bloody good value, I'd say.

Or if you own a Wii, way, way cheaper. The WiiU itself is too expensive right now, but will obviously be moreso when you add in the kitchen sink.

Considering the consoles specifications and it's questionable lifespan this upcoming generation, no I'd say that the console itself is too expensive. The accessories are well priced, but that's mostly thanks to being able to rely on old hardware that has now drastically fallen in price - a nice move that I'd love to see replicated in MS/Sony's next offerings.

Ordered the ZombiU version from Amazon. Don't like the price, but I hope it will drop.

i don't trust that zavvi price, sticking with tesco

I just straight-up don't trust Zavvi. If the bundles do work out to be the same on both sites, I'd rather spend the extra money on Amazon so I at least know my order won't wound up sent out to India three months late or something.

Great! And they already said till the end of 2014 during the presentation.

Man they've only announced the thing yesterday and it is already like I'm riding a roller coaster with all the ups and downs.

Ok if I could get this bundle for say 380 Euros, that would be a done deal for me. And I'd get Rayman Legends as well.

£330 is around €410 so hopefully they will get closer to 380. I was already prepared to shill out 400 for Wii U + 2 games but since I'll have to get Mario U separately it will be a bit more I suppose.

Something is way off with the german Wii-U game prices. They all cost 70 EUR at amazon.de

No way they'll stick at that, but thats way too high for NSMB-U and Rayman.

Wii U Premium with zombiu bundle is £299 over at zavvi

Damn i still think its too much. I dont know whats wrong with me as ive spent far more on console launches before but this time round i really dont think its worth £299.

The more i think about it the more im going to leave it til next year and wait for a price drop. If i could get a premium pack with 3 games for £250 then id bite.

ShopTo have the Premium bundle + ZombiU up for £325. Only a fiver cheaper than Amazon, but you get free shipping, and some reward points. Pre-ordered that, Mario and Rayman. And now my wallet hates me.

(Wasn't sure if this was cool to post, are ShopTo still banned?)

CHrist amazon, and to think, all these changes and not a single person who pre-ordered it has been notified of changes to the item description.

I don't understand why these things keep changing to begin with. Surely Nintendo have told them what's in each pack?

the url to them is but a lot of us are using them, I personally find that I get stuff from them quickly and a day or two before release.

My brother just pre-ordered the Wii U from Zavvi, the ZombiU edition. Nice price too at £285, the first time order discount was a nice surprise.

Yep. Tesco were doing 750gb Samsung portable USB HDDs for £50 a few weeks ago in my local store.

32gb, or if it's like the 3DS it will handle 128gb SDXC cards just fine.

I'm waiting until I know about sdxc before I bit the bullet on storage. If they are go, then I may just go for a 128GB one of those over an HDD/sdd. Bit of a price jump I know, but I despise clutter around the tv so might be tempted.

I've been trying to work put if they take VAT off for CI customers. If so I may also go that route over amazon...

Bu-but 3 stands dude!

In all seriouness, yes SD and/or USB storage will be used as expanded storage

It eventually comes to the fact if you're going to spend 500€ at the eShop for the first two years (in order to recoup the extra cost you're paying in further discounts) or not. I know I will most likely do, so that's why I went with the Premium.

The ZombiU Pack is like the #WiiU Premium Pack but instead of Nintendo Land it includes the #ZombiU game and a black Wii U Pro Controller.

Yeah, just seen this tweet. Disappointing, but then again I'll play Zombie U for a hell of a lot longer than Nintendo Land anyway so no great loss as far as I'm concerned.

Think i'll go with the nintendoland bundle for now, zombiu can be bought at a later date and these launch games all seen to use the gamepad for things.

What formats will the Wii U read via external hdd? Im assuming Fat32 only? If so....games downloaded from the eShop they are split up into multiple files smaller than 4gig yeah?

Your expectations need dialling down.

Pre-owned 360s and PS3s might be cheap but the brand new models aren't. A brand new slim Xbox (admittedly more storage) with one crap game is like £199 -- the premium Wii-U model you're talking about is newer hardware, it comes with the main controller, which lets not forget has to house its own video decoder, a touch screen, speakers, NFC etc., and an extra pro controller, a game and more flash memory than the basic model. The 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect actually retails for around £235 too. The 160GB-320GB PS3s are £199-250 new as well.

Acknowledging the storage disparity - its not an issue to me when you can get double the capacity of either console (and more) for £40-50 on the likes of eBuyer

Oh COME ON. Do they even understand the point of a 'bundle'? There's no point if you're not saving any money over buying stuff seperately.
