Wii-U - Amazon listing UK prices and launch date

Of course, but I still think Nintendoland should be included. It's basically the Wii Sports of the system and adding one game and taking away another is a pretty shitty tactic.

Hmm, I'm not sure that is a shit tactic. They cant give it away free (and the game is much, much more expanded than Wii Sports was. Its a full game in its own right. I agree there should have been some "induction software" included with evry console, like wii sports was, to get people used to the controller and explain the concept. But I'm not sure Nintendo are pulling some shitty tactic on us just because they don't want to give something away for free.

Wii U Premium Pack - (Nintendo Land) - £299

Wii U Zombi U Pack - (ZombiU + Pro Controller) - £329.

Seems fair to me. (I previously thought the premium membership wasn't included in the ZU pack, looks like it is though as Nintendo have tweeted that its the same as Premium Pack, just no NintendoLand, with ZU+Pro Controller in its place)

Edit: Beaten by Thraktor :)

Anyone used Hitari.co.uk before? Premium is £299 there aswell.

It's not a good price when you can buy the same thing separately for the same amount, it might as well not be a bundle. If it had Nintendo Land in it too, it would be a good deal. Instead of "meh".

Well unless the pro controller is £30 exactly, then that's not true.

Pre-ordered ZombiU bundle from Zavvi.

It's £25 more expensive than the Nintendo Land, but it includes the pro controller, which I'm sure will cost more than that.

How are Sainsburys for hardware launches? Or even just game launches?

Only ever used Amazon, but right now they seem a little slow out of the gate..

I'm wary of Amazon, because they messed up my 3DS pre-order.
I got the console 2 days before launch, but the games (ordered at the same time) arrived 1 week after. I literally spent the first two days playing Face Raiders.

I will cancel it though unless it goes down in price, as I'm a bit glum over some of you guys getting the Wii U premium bundle for just £199.

It won't get even close to that low. We took advantage of the system, and lucked out.

Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted, but Amazon's taking a bath on this one. :D

I still telling myself they'll cancel despite them telling me three times they wont. Preparing myself just incase.

Are those orders for £199.99 being honoured..?

I jumped in and ordered the Black SKU in June when Amazon had it as their price promise thingy and they cancelled it. Has anyone tried contacting them about that..? Was just wondering what the best way to do it was. I don't really like complaining and because of that I'm always too polite and reasonable lol.

I'm guessing a polite email to customer services would be better for whoever is reading the email but am I more likely to get a result if I'm a bit short with them..?

Hate doing things like this lololol

There was no price protection back in those listings. They were all cancelled.

I received an email from Amazon today re-reconfirming that I'm getting my Wii U for 199.

I'm not concerned by this point.

I don't get why people e-mail retailers in this situation.

'Hey, Amazon, I've just pre-ordered the Wii U at a FAR TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE PRICE, could you check this price is legit? LOL'

uhm, Zavvi is offering the NintendoLand bundle. I honestly would pick that insteada ZombiU one, but since they're horribly slow at delivering games I wonder if it's any different with consoles

If you made a £100 saving on a brand spanking new console...you would wanna know your order still stands too...lol

Pretty sure Zavvi send hardware next day courier.

It stands while it's in my order history. E-mailing Amazon just raises alarm bells with them and makes them more likely to cancel everyones orders.

I now have confirmation in writing that the order will stand. Whether the price is legit or not, it's all good.

Pretty sure it was price protected mate and they cancelled them anyway, that's why I'm surprised they're honouring the ones the other day. There's something in the terms and conditions that basically says they're within their rights to cancel orders due to cock ups I think, unless I'm mistaken.

They're allowed to pull the item due to mispricing.

As I understand it, a RRP wasn't set, and so they can't claim mispricing.

UK law is pretty crazy sometimes. I'm still amazed that you can return and refund Stream games, despite what Steam's polices say.

Amazon wouldn't honour a £9 discount on MGS HD Collection orders so I doubt they will be honouring those £100 discounts on the Premium Wii. Best of luck to those that have ordered though and hopefully you get it.

I've put a pre-order in at Sainsbury's despite uming and ahing over whether I want one at launch or not. The current generation of machines has made me very vary about being an early adoptor but the software lineup is looking good and I like shiny new things.

I too would like to know this as I also ordered the black Wii U in June.

It just doesnt really seem all that fair if they can cancel those orders and claim they were an error, yet honour all of yesterdays orders for the same price?

They both had the same Amazon product ASIN of B008B5YB4W.

(Yes i'm probably just a little bitter/jealous but hopefully someone can see my point)

I also had my June order cancelled but as it turned out it actually was mislisted in the first place...after they removed it they had the "to be notified" listing...which clearly shows they had no pricing info, let alone bundle info. I believe Amazon genuinely would have honoured it if they had pricing and bundle info.

Amazon in my experience are quite good when it comes to honouring pre-orders.

So uh

I've never pre-ordered from Amazon before (got my 3DS XL at retail for cheaper). I got a preorder in for the Wii U for £220 on thursday. Am I definitely guaranteed it for launch day? They're not gonna fuck it up are they?

They'll probably send it by Parcelforce or something I imagine, so you should be OK. The site explicitly says you'll get it on launch day.

Excellent. I seem to remember them screwing up some 3DS preorders at launch - maybe I was wrong.

Anyway, as long as fucking Yodel don't deliver, all should be fine.

The problem with the 3DS pre-orders were that the people that chose "expedited delivery" and paid £7.50 more didn't get the consoles on launch day, while the ones that selected "first class delivery" (far cheaper) did. There was also problem with people not receiving games - I got my console early, but the games took ages to arrive.

Heh. I've selected first class for the Wii U anyhow. I knew there must have been a reason why I chose that.

Anyway. I'm getting my games retail with trade-ins, so I'm all sorted on that front.

£44.99 for New Super Mario Bros U?
£49.97 for ZombiU? What is this?!

It's prices from retailers that aren't supermarkets!

Consoles are worth pre-ordering. The games really aren't. They'll be cheaper on the day at your local Tesco or ASDA.

They should just call it the ZombieU version, not ZombieU premium bundle, which implies its the premium bundle plus zombieU

How are amazon for release day delivery?

I was about this as well but about zavvi. I heard horror stories about their very late deliveries last Christmas but I also heard it was because of a warehouse problem. has that been sorted? are they reliable for deliveries now?

Get a dice. Choose four numbers as your good outcomes. Roll. There's your chances from Zavvi. Can go well, but sometimes they TOTALLY fuck it up.

That sainsburys code isn't working. Shows up in the checkout, but when I pres confirm it says the code is no longer valid and has been removed :/

Edit : shit, seems for new customers only.

Edit2:
Had to start a new account. Different email, and shortened first name otherwise it knew I already had an account.

This worked, thanks.

I would still prefer to pick up on the day rather than trust a delivery service, and I still hope there are better deals (would have hoped for premium plus one game for under £300). But then we have the distance selling regulations meaning we can return anything within 7 days, so if a better deal comes in, or sainsburys are late, it can just go back

Thanks for the Sainsbury's code.

You also can put in your nectar card number which gets you the equivalent of a fiver in points, so i suppose you can consider it £294.99 for the premium Zombie U bundle.

Might preorder in a bricks and mortar shop too. Can always refund it within 7 days if they take forever to deliver. Or if they're a hit, sell on Ebay for massive damage (did I say that outloud?)

How are amazon for release day delivery?

I personally wouldn't use them for game preorders, but for consoles, I'm not too sure (since they need to be sent out via courier service it might be different). In my experience for games, they make no effort to get it to you for release date, even their customer service basically tell you tough, wait the 3-5 days it states for delivery. Whether that's changed over the years, I don't know, but I haven't bothered trying for a long time.

Other companies tend to actually make an effort by sending them out a few days early in the hope you get them on time. It's one of the few disappointing aspects of Amazon.

Sainsburys just sent me an email saying they refused my preorder. I'd set up a 'new' account using a different email address and slightly different name as mentioned before.

shits.

I guess it depends on the courier it uses locally and your personal tastes and expectatives. Every time I pre-order something with free delivery on Amazon I have it at my door the following Monday afternoon through MRW so well, I can wait a weekend for the extra savings and certified delivery as the rest of the UK stores always use standard non-tracked royal mail for free deliveries, and that's a service I woulnd't use for something as big and expensive as a console.
