Thanks. Web comics aren't real comics though.

I think some of the frustration comes from looking at sales lists and seeing the mediocre superhero event of the month topping the charts while other quality stuff is struggling to get recognition.

Continuously seeing DC and Marvel dominate sales seems unfair, but Big Macs are always going sell more than filet mignon.

I honestly never imagined the people I disagree with would actually turn out to be full on bullying jerks to me personally, but I guess it backs up my whole worldview. Win-win.

Well, if it's any consolation, as a result of that I clicked your tag. I like your comic, and have added it to my favourites.

Mediocrity will always be popular. It would be nice to have more than two choices though. Although i guess when you boil it down hollywood is ruled by only a few compaines too.

That and just the same complaints I heard from fans who couldn't stop buying the books that were spiting them because they had been buying them for years.

Oh, and the increasing #1 / relaunch cycle to generate sales.

Never fear Benjamin, as much as I hate the rest of the world I assure you I hate myself most of all. It's only a matter of time before I work up the confidence to draw that warm bath and tap my femoral arteries to put end this endless struggle. Selling my hours on this planet to the highest bidder just to pay for my addictions and burdens continues to wear me down.

I haven't polluted the gene pool, so you won't have to worry about my feral bastards running around terrorizing the future of mankind.

Yay! Comics thread. D:

Typical Popeyes lover. Using the biscuits to distract from the dry ass chicken. But no more! Have at thee.

Okay, look. It's all fun and games when it comes to comics. But if you ever diss Popeyes again, I will find you and replace all your books with bound copies of my wang, xerox'd thousands of thousands of times over.

Their sides (save the dirty rice) ain't all that either.

Come at me.

You'll have to excuse ReiGun, he's one of those "KFC > Popeyes" people

Yes, it's quite unfortunate.

Indeed. I find it unfortunate that more cannot see the glorious truth I have known for years. My only hope to try and educate as many possible, that they may be freed from the clutches of that cajun harpy, Popeyes.

This is what the dipping sauce is for!

Dry meat is best meat.
Nah brah. Brah, nah.

What in the holy fucking hell is going on in here? Shit is absurd.

DEAL WITH IT!

Popeye's is still open around here.

KFC is long gone. Though to be fair they never had any damn chicken and you can only be robbed so many times before you call it a day. :\

Just think, just several years ago these people were issued government-mandated helmets. Now they let them on the internet and everything.

I feel so progressive just engaging these poor souls in conversations.

Capt America. "We're going to take this young woman, now. No talking. Fuck you. OMG you zapped me, WAR!"

Cyke. "Oh, shit, the Phoenix, destroyer of universes is coming. Oh, you know what? Maybe this time it will rebuild. Something. In some way. We should fight everybody, just in case."

Capt America (again) "Hey, Logan. Thanks for helping us out. Now, for no raisin, I'm going to get very angry at you and not allow you to help. What? You're mad? GTFO!"

So, basically just those 2. Especially Cyke and everything he's doing. Everything after the Phoenix is fine, as you say, that's the point.

Maybe Cyclops is having a nervous breakdown? I mean, he's always been uptight, and now he's gone and turned on his mentor and his race, which had once been big and full of itself is on the out and out because of a single person and from what I've seen his relationship with Emma is about as solid as any relationship of Cyclops' will ever be. Maybe he really is just kinda havin' a break-down and that's why he's dumped all his wishes on Hope?

It's the only reason why Cyclops would ever view the force that had caused his two of his wives to die (once several times) as well as the slaughter of his in-laws in anything resembling a positive light. Like, honestly, you'd think Scott would be revolted by the idea of the Phoenix at this point. It's taken pretty much everything from him.

B-but the Batman Beyond comic is really good!

I'm gonna dress myself in extreme bondage gear because my powers only activate when I angst now.

So I was trying to read some Uncanny X-Men after seeing all the praise Gillen's run gets here. I decided to start with the Quarantine arc on Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited, since I think the stuff before that was the last time I read Uncanny. I read the first issue and everything is going fine. I get to the second issue and it opens with Sebastian Shaw on the run from Emma and Phantomex. This was odd, since in the previous issue I read he was nice and secure in a prison, and from the dialogue it was clear stuff happened in between those two scenes. I looked at the issue number and realized that Marvel arbitrarily decided to skip over issue 531. They have every other issue of Uncanny from 529-544. What is the point of skipping issue 2 in a 5 point story? :/

If it wasn't for the random holes they leave in story runs, Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited would be nearly perfect (provided you are OK getting your comics on a 12-18 month lag from their publication date).

MDCU is great, but I constantly fear it will be shuttered in favor of monetizing every transaction rather than offer the buffet method of consuming Marvel's vast library of comics.

They really need to focus on getting MDCU on every platform and the whole gaps / release delay thing they'll be on to the perfect digital distribution method.

I'd love to see DC do something similar.

YOU GUYS DON'T UNDERSTAND NOW!!!! I'm DEEP.

Penance was the worst character to get in UMA2.

Well UMA2 was based off the worst crossover event prior to AvX, Fear Itself, etc. etc. etc.

The only thing that could be worse is a DC game based around Final Crisis. *meep meep!*

Oh my lumptious shared interest book readers, why doesn't anyone talk about the sheer awesomeness of Incognito by Brubaker and Sean P. It's basically begging for a movie adaption.

When you read it, you'll see why. Also Sleeper and Criminal. Brubaker is basically the American version of Alan Moore.

Is . . . is that a Digimon? Also, I feel bad for the guy who created Speedball. I mean, can you imagine how he must have felt seeing his creation become the butt of all Civil War jokes? I feel no sympathy for the guy who made him become Penance, though. He was asking for it.

Well for these monthly OT's we usually talk about the comics that came out this week or recently unless someone specifically talks about an older series

That last sentence needs to be explained....

Indeed.

If our protagonist doesn't ingest a hallucinogen or partake of psychedelics to solve the myster, then it's not Moore tier. :P

Anyone went to the Montreal Comic Con? It was awesome! I was there on Saturday and Sunday, I bought a boatload of old Punisher comics, spoke to Tom Savini, enjoyed the babes; and met some awesome artists! I'll post pics of my loot tomorrow!
