Sonic Adventure 2 HD and Nights HD Dated

This is great, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is so going to be bought. JSR I will try out an if I dig it I will get on my Vita. And I've never tried a NIGHTS game so I will definitely check out the demo.

Can anyone refresh me on what Battle added to the game other than multiplayer stuff?

Also I am loving these Sega HD releases, such incredible games.

If you mean the DLC, it adds the "Battle" multiplayer and "Chao Karate". Sonic Adventure 2Battle has a bit higher quality in textures, and a few other things.

I'm going to play NiGHTS....on the Xbox 360.

I don't know why, but that just feels so surreal.

Sounds great to me! It's been a long time since I've played it, but it was one of my favorite Saturn games. The graphics are awful now so it'll be such a cool experience revisiting it with new visual clarity.

I only played the first level of SA2. Not sure if I'll get that one. Sonic Adventure was fine at the time and I mostly enjoyed the HD version (except for the fact that it was 4:3 and the camera was worse than ever).

This thread should be getting more love.

I'm really loving this new Sega trend and I hope it continues from here on out, I'm especially loving the fact that this games are being released on PC/Steam, I'll be getting Jet Set Radio in a few days when it releases and I'll do the same for NiGHTS.

NiGHTS was one of my most wanted games to be made available on more platforms, and Christmas NiGHTs is just the icing on top of the cake.

I'll be playing NiGHTS during October and November and then "unwrapping" Christmas NiGHTS on December.

Will pick up SA2 at some point as well, if nothing else for nostalgia sake.

Now to keep hoping they somehow release Dragon Force for more platforms.

Which one is it for sonic adventure 2? Dreamcast or GC? It'll be insta if it's GC.
I'd imagine they based the port off of the GC rerelease, much like the first game's port was based off of the PC port of the GC port of the DC original (and just to make things more confusing, that port was used as the basis for another PC port). It's just the things exclusive to the GC version, beyond minor tweaks to level design and all, will be split off and sold to you separately for $3.

$9.99 for base game, $3.00 for "Battle Mode DLC"

Sonic fans will also be able to enhance their Sonic Adventure 2 experience with Battle Mode DLC for an additional $3.00 / 240 Microsoft Points. Battle Mode includes more maps and characters from the beloved Gamecube version of the title, including everyone’s favorite mode: Chao Karate.

So sounds like it's based on the GC version.

Can't they just get PDS's code off a disc? Isn't that what BluePoint do for their HD collections?

I have a hard time believing that it would be so difficult these days. I imagine that it's a case of effort vs sales--and whether Sega thinks the audience would be there to purchase it. You'd get a ton of people who bought the original, but how many new folks would you get?

But considering they're bringing back things like NiGHTS, there may be reason to hope.

Fianlly this year, I'll be able to have Christmas Nights playing during Christmas again :) Dream Dreams... so nice when they're fulfilled.

Never played the GC version of SA2, sounds like a good time to jump on it. I look forward to seeing how much better new gamer me is VS old SA2.

World Tekken Federation is Chao Karate?

World Tekken Federation is Chao Karate?
A mode where you pit your Chao against other Chao in a display of thrilling and mind bending martial arts, a gripping tourney that involves singles matches of two infants forced to waddle up to one another and lay the smack down by their cruel owners pushed onward by a frenzied crowd, and when you come across an opponent with a slightly different stance than your chao you realize that you're out of your league and you must witness the swift slaughter of your chosen chao, there will be tears.

As for a more proper explanation, you don't play it, you watch the fight play out, the quality of your chao's stats depends on how much ass they can kick, occasionally you mash buttons to wake your chao up.

what will the next 3 titles be? shenmue, skies of arcadia and dynamite cop?

Will probably skip SA2 (even though I've always enjoyed it) and will pick up Nights although I'm wondering how well developers can HD a 3D Saturn title. Never got to try Christmas Nights, so that's a rad bonus.

DAY 1!

Sounds nice in itself. This makes me miss my VMUs, actually... I remember playing Falco's Coin collecting minigame from powerstone on that, while waiting for a ride from school... Chaogatchi Battle Arena should be one of many fun diversions with this DLC, I'd guess.

The next one is probably Panzer Dragoon (maybe Saga, hope it's Saga), Skies of Arcadia, and Shenmue.

I guess this is when I finally give Sonic 2 Adventure a fair shot (Play it for more than 15 minutes) Not bad of a price. Never played Nights so I may have to give it a shot too.

Hopefully the PC versions will include native resolution selection.

The PC version of Sonic Adventure 1 was a total hassle to get running at native resolution (it gives you like 4 different resolutions to choose from in it's config tool)

Not sure I want to play through SA2 again (really, only the Sonic and Shadow levels were good), but NiGHTS HD is mine day one.

Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia next, please!

This should be the official description for the DLC pack.

this is true as GameTap had the rights to publish PDS on their service, but never did because they felt there wasn't enough demand for the effort (at least to emulate it).

Though I will agree that there may be hope these days
...may be if SEGA secretly recruited some Saturn Hackers to pull off something like Taxman did with Sonic CD.

too bad Sonic Adventure 1's job was poorly done. :S they should redo it again lol.

Got Jet Set Radio HD,
will buy Nights,

will pass on SA2 (I can't stomach playing the Treasure Hunting and Shooter levels again just to have 20% of Sonic/Shadow gameplay on the backburner)
