So apparently a group of lifeguards were fired for making a "mix video" at work, even though they were supposedly on break. And the manager who wasn't in there at all got the ax as well.

Well why are people downloading the mp3?
It is on top of iTunes. Is there a free video with the mp3 download.
 
So I corrupted my little cousins, gave them the idea to go into random elevators and "PSY-ch" people. They have an old-school style boom-box in an elevator and mimic the video, they said they got some great reactions. Unfortunately it was just the two of them so they couldn't record it, but they're trying to get their friend with a decent camera to record them.
 
The Atlantic article was really interesting. Gives the video an interesting light. I don't know jack or shit about Korea so it's interesting to read about their society a little bit.

The funniest thing in the video is when he is oogling the girls doing Yoga and it zooms in on their ass. They're good looking but compared to US rap videos with black chicks shaking big asses, the skinny Korean asses made me chuckle.
 
This song is basically everyhwere and I hadn't heard it until recently but I'm gonna be a hipster and say I listened to KPOP way before this song!

It really could have been a lot better, it just sounds like two songs placed over each other. I kinda wish that they would have lowered the volume for "Gangnam Style." You can barely hear "Space Jam" at times.
 
He got number 1 in Belgium and Netherlands on itunes as well. Thought this song would be popular for a few weeks but it looks like I'll go longer than that. Great to see an asian musician break in Western Countries.

I was at a work party this evening and there was a DJ there. Typical dance stuff and whatnot, but midway through the party he threw Gungnam Style on. Holy shit at how many people reacted to it. The previously empty dance floor was suddenly full of people doing the signature dance to this.

I was really surprised at just how many people at my company, who I thought were pretty "normal," knew the dance to this song. Very catchy, indeed.

It's definitely started spreading heavily in the past few weeks. I've had two people at work send me links this week, and my office is next to the main accountant's office and I overheard her describing it to her assistant yesterday.

That's started quite a while ago, South Korea's the new Asian country all the geeks are obsessed with, this song & video becoming so popular is a result of that.
 
Amazing how much this song has blown up, and keeps doing so. My friends at University know about the song too and they're not the type to listen to K-pop or Asian music.

So I saw a english lyrics video for this.

Maybe it was a bad translation, but turns out the lyrics make it to be just shitty cliched sappy love song #5475646756786789

A lil disappointing. Thought he was singing about being a gangster badass or sumthin.
