Quick question: It is OK to pile games like this?

Hello everyone. How do you usually stock your gaming collection?

Mine is this way. I'm currently reorganizing my room and I started to worry about my games. I group them for console, and PS2 + PS3 + NGC is only like that because of the photo. But look at my 360 collection. Will the cases be damaged over time because of this? I don't have a shelve to put them on.

I like to REEEALLY take care of my cases, I don't like them scratched at all. I have old games that look like they just came out of the plastic wrap. When I have guests and they wanna change games, I rush to change for them, so they won' scratch my cases.

Tips appreciated.

EDIT: Maybe will sound like a dumb question, but seriously, it is really heavy for the case in the bottom.

I have like, 150 360 games and some PS3 ones just piled up around the place like that atm. I've noticed that in some cases (lol) the front will warp/invert a little, but it isn't permanent.

You're in serious danger of having those piles fall over and cause serious damage to your games. Put a 20 pound weight on top of each of them to keep them safe.

A truly anal collector would build a temperature controlled case, have acid-free contactless paper between each case, and maybe even store games separate from the cases.

Everyone else, however, knows that cases are fully replaceable. The point is to protect the discs.

Similar to yours, but I have several of these so I keep them in these things.

Sorry, super crappy iPad photo. My phone is dead so I had to use this. Also, there's a flare from the wall light, so sorry about that too lol

Edit: Also some are just tossed in drawers (with the cases), and others that don't have a case are on a spool.

It's called IKEA, I suggest you go for a visit.

Dude, why do you have them all piled up lying on their backs like that? You could sit them vertically and it would look a lot better and you wouldn't have to play Jenga every time you want to grab a particular game.

Think dominoes (or a shelf with books in it), not pancakes.

Oooh Video Game Jenga, I should try that

I can organize them like books in other compartment of my wardrobe, but I thought to ask first about the pile, because if there's no problem, I will let them stay this way.
The real question is if you have to clip your toenails everytime you change your game?

I wash my hands every time I will play a game. And everybody should! Dirty controls are... dirty. You just don't get home from work and play your consoles.

Stealth "look at my game collection " ?

<_<

Huh... why? That doesn't make sense. At the "show your gaming setup" thread there tons, tons... TONS of other gaming collection at least 32x the size of this one. Why would I show 40 games and brag about it?

Honestly OP, don't you feel irked or mad when you want to play a game that's in the middle of the pile?
No. (???)
I just lift the upper games and take the one I want.

This picture sums up this gen perfectly; I see brown, low res, obscene lens flare, Kinect, some Wii, PS3 software in the distance...
ROFL 100/10

Dear god! Organize by system and alphabetize!
I would, but I rarely ever touch my console games. I'm PC gaming 80% of the time, iOS gaming 15% of the time, and console gaming 5% of the time lol. My Steam and iOS library/game folder is pretty well organized though haha

As long as it doesn't bother you, you're fine. Some people hate that method because they have to slowly pull a game from the middle of the pile so the others on top don't fall over, but if you're fine with it I don't see a problem

Does anyone else's game cases get kinda shitty after a while. I can't explain it, but they feel heavier/thicker when they are new then the plastic film gets warped a bit eventually.

Eh, probably just some cosmetic damage. I'd keep those newer cases from the bottom though, along with Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey due to the shitty stacking of Microsoft's.

It's called dust + dirt build up, leave it there long enough

Very moisture area of the room, yeah watch those manuals, cover arts say bye bye and become water damaged

The plastic film on mine always warp near the top and start to sag down a bit. No idea why they are just sitting on a shelf.

Serious question, why the fuck are the PS3 games on the bottom? They're smaller than the rest of the cases, it doesn't make sense...

Man, that sure is a bad place to keep your games.

Makes earning trophies feel more accomplished, blocking half of my TV

Then it wouldn't be obvious to everyone how many games he has.

I was just cleaning my room/gaming area, I always take pics of my games to see how much I pile up
When you stash them away or put them in boxes/shelves, they don't look like much

Stack them up and you see how much shit you have lol

Also that photo was taken for Trophy/Cheev GAF thread, just had it on hand in my album

Get plastic clear boxes dokish, they are no more than $3-$5, 2 should be enough

They help save a lot of space, + keep your games safe

Only downfall is if you get robbed, you just made it easier for them to grab all the stuff heh
