Indie Bundle Thread - There's another one?

Does anybody know if the Broken Sword games are separate keys (Like they did with the commandos series) or a unified key for all the games (like they did with death to spies)?

Anyone got their steam codes yet?

there have been some broken sword codes given out in some threads already, but I don't have any codes yet... granted I just bought the base bundle (for now) so who knows what's up lol

based off this post I am going to guess they are separate but I can't be sure.

For those wondering what the week 2 games are in the Gala bundle, if the stuff pulled out of the site code are true, the games are Worms Pinball and Alien Breed 3.

sounds good to me... for me Indie Gala 9 > humble bundle 6 but that is mostly due to the fact that I am a sucker for worms games lol

Indie Gala 9.

Worms (Steam)
Worms Blast (Steam)
Worms Pinball (Steam)
Worms Crazy Golf (Steam)
Alien Breed 2:Assault (Steam)
Broken Sword: Director's Cut (Steam)
Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror (Steam)
Broken Sword 3: The Sleeping Dragon (Steam)
Alien Breed 3: Descent (Steam)
Battlegroup
Call of Cthulhu
Probably the best indie gala yet.

I have the keys but when i entered those for Alien Breed 2 and Worms Blast I didn't get the games on Steam. I'm sure I'm missing something here.

HIB locks 1/6 game behind the BTA, while the 5 non-BTA games are all fantastic. Gala locks 7/11 (7/9 if you ignore the Android games). There is a pretty big difference here.

Yeah, you pay like $1 early on and you are out what? Dustforce? I mean you even get the extra bonuses!

Family Fry posted this on another thread:

...I found a indie/AGS adventure bundle (5 games) pay what you want.

SUMMER BATCH VOLUME 1

Summerbatch is a collection of well made adventure games by indie developers who make them for fun, for work and for you. Volume 1 contains a selection of original games that have been made for you over the past few months. Buy the batch to support these great developers and donate through us to a worthy charity, SpecialEffect.

The last Humble Bundle (5) made 5+mil, but so far we're "only" at 1.1m for HiB6.

I'm kinda surprised how quickly HiB6 came out after 5, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it, or if it's just the games in the bundle, or bundle fatigue, or what. Hmmm.

It's the games. HIB6 is great (I owned every game except one already...) but HIB4/5 shit all over it.

Yup, the games has to be the main factor. Torchlight is the only game in this bundle that is as well-known as Bastion, Amnesia, Psychonauts and Limbo. Also, I think this lineup will appeal less to the average person than the two previous bundles. The games feel more niche.

It just occurred to me that they launched the same day as Borderlands 2, so that might have something to do with it. Diablo 3 demolished the Indie Royale bundle when it was released. (though that was a much bigger game obviously).

I think bundle 5 being a lot stronger is the main factor.

Still, its ticking up nicely from where I'm standing, and on track with our expectations.

HIB5 lineup was crazy, it was like a compilation of the best and most famous indie games of the past 5 years for dirt cheap. Can't expect any other bundle to compete.

Still no director's cut of Broken Sword on Steam... what the hell is taking so long.

What? Director's Cut is on Steam, and is the only version of the first game that has ever been available. Now, if you're talking about the Remastered version of the second game, they did actually update it some time ago.

Humble Bundle 5 was unbelievable. 6 is a collection of fine games as well, but not on the same level.

Speaking of bundle sales, it looks like the Indie Royale bundle is falling a bit short of their usual sales as well. They typically average around 13,000 sales. But as I post this, they're struggling to make it to 8,000.

Both Groupies & Indie Gala have had a bit of a fall off recently as well.

People that pay attention to these bundles already have these games from Steam sales or something else. I know I'm not getting this one because I have most of them.

I think it'd be interesting to look at all the HIBs separately and calculate how much it would have taken to buy all of the games featured at their lowest Steam Summer / Holiday sale pricing VS the $5.50-7 it takes to buy them through HIB

For example:
Dustforce - 4.99
Rochard - 3.39
Shatter - 2.49
SPAZ - 2.49
Torchlight - 2.99
Vessel - 3.74
So you're looking at about $20 right there. HIB is a 75% discount versus buying all of them through individual Steam sales. (I'd note that the total value is also higher than HIB V)

If you add in the bonus games:
BIT.TRIP.RUNNER - 2.49
Gratuitous Space Battles - 4.99
Jamestown - 2.49
Wizorb - 1.49
A little over $30, or around an 87% discount. (And again, total value also higher than HIB V)

I think this basically demonstrates that even if a lot of the games in the HIB are quite old and commonly featured on Steam sales, the discounts are still excellent. Unfortunately, if you're a hyper rational calculating type, then it also suggests you're basically an idiot for buying any indie games outside the HIB.
