US PSN: Spend $100 during October, get $20 back

NFS: Most Wanted
Doom 3 BFG
Okami HD

All for $90, not bad. Would be even better if the day 1 digital games were midnight releases.

You guys should also keep in mind that October is usually the month stores have Buy 2 Get 1 Free deals on games the past few years. If you're trying to get the cheapest value at least.

Brilliant ploy. They start this and everyone immediately begins plotting how to spend an extra 60$ to "save" 20$

Keep in mind, a lot of these people are going to spend the money anyways. I'm sure there are a lot of people like myself who will be spurred on by this and try to figure out ways to spend the money, but other than a full ps plus subscription I cannot see myself hitting 100. I can't download full games because my hd is full, that hurts too.

According to the Blog, some day 1 digital releases will be midnight like Mass Effect 3. Hopefully they mention which ones soon.

Absolutely. Was a light hearted remark. Though I believe its been proven people will spend more if there's a sale.

Well, for me it is a nice incentive because there are two games that I have been contemplating, plus there is the DLC for Dark Souls I'll be buying. This just gives me a reason to get both games and cover my Dark Souls DLC with the savings. That is a great deal for all of it.

Oh yeah, you're totally spot on though with the spending more. Look at how many people here are clamouring to spend their money. Will you save money? Yes. Will you spend at least 80 to do it? Yes.

Personally I can only see myself buying final fantasy 3, another psp game, and then throwing on a year ps plus subscription. Even then I don't hit 100, and the problem with the ps plus subscription is that you have to spend even more money to make it worth it, so it defeats the purpose of saving money, unless of course Touré one of the aforementioned people who will spend it anyways. I bought a 3 month subscription like many of the sheeple did during e3, and it saved me 4 bucks on cs:go and that's it. I would have been better off not spending that money... Although the plus sign beside my name is tempting...

Amazon a lot of times offers 1/3 off on launch day.

I haven't seen them do anything like that in a long time. Lately their release date pricing has been pretty awful, which really sucks for me, since I'm a committed Prime user. But the promo codes are mostly gone, and the preorder bonuses tend to be DLC nowadays.

I bit on the E3 hype too, but I fell like it's pretty quickly paying for itself in discounts in paid and free games I was actually interested in.

I swear by Amazon, but this year has been hugely disappointing. Fortunately, I got in on the $15 off Newegg pre-orders.

needs to be clarified if this covers psn+ subscriptions or not Xo

This is all the email said

"Instant gratification–plus $20 when you spend $100.

With Day 1 Digital you can download the biggest Fall premieres the same day as store release. Plus, spend $100 in the PlayStation®Store during October and get $20 back. Pre-Order select titles and get an exclusive theme. "

Got the email as well. It's under a header talking about day 1 digital, so I wonder if it only applies to those?

Target has sold $20 PSN cards for $18 a couple of times IIRC. However, if you live in a state where the sales tax are 10% then you save a total of 20 cents. Not really worth it IMO.

The few times Target has done 20% off PSN cards, I would always get someone who worked at Target to buy me one using their employee discount and red card. Turned out to be like $38 for a $50 PSN card. Those always seemed like such a deal.

Since Best Buy seems to be sold out of codes, does anyone know of any reputable alternative that takes international credit cards?

I really wanna get in on this.

Guess I'm getting RE6 on PSN instead of from Amazon after all. With that, Sonic Adventure 2, Nights HD, and Tokyo Jungle, that should be more than enough to fulfill the requirements.

That $20 is so going towards Okami HD.

Hmm...

Killzone HD
Beyond Good & Evil
Jet Set Radio
inFamous: Festival of Blood
Dead Space 2: Severed

I'm sure there is some other stuff that doesn't come immediately to mind. I can make this happen.

I'd rather get full games on disc than digital. All that stuff plus Dishonored and Assassin's Creed III will have me more than set until the big hitters of February.

I haven't bought a game at launch since Battlefield 3 which as 33% off at launch. I just checked real fast and Resident Evil 6 has $10 gift card and exclusive DLC.

Is it really that common for people to buy full games on PSN? Maybe I'm just behind the times, but unless it's an indie game I don't see much of this to be honest. :/
I think that's the point here, in a way it's a disguised discount to get two games for $10 off if you buy them over the PSN. And hell, if it weren't for the fact Dishonored would look amazing on my PC and I'm holding out on AC3 on Wii U (or maybe PC if it dumps dumb U-play crap) I'd seriously be going with it, though Vita may be enough there.

Good for those who wish to buy latest and upcoming games
Even then though some of those you can hunt for discounts on, I have Dishonored pre-ordered for $50 from Newegg, but may switch to GMG if they have a good discount code active just before the US release (Borderlands 2 crap showed me it's better to just pre-order at the last second from them).

EDIT: And now that I'm seeing stuff brought up... Okami for $20, Dark Souls for $10-15, and maybe Little Big Planet for $36. I probably COULD get that $100 matched without even pre-ordering any of those games, even easier if Xseed didn't come up with that Ragnarok Odyssey Deluxe Set. Could probably have either Unchained Blades or Ratchet & Clank Collection push it over come to think of it.

- New little king story
- Ragnarok Odyssey
- Jet Set Radio Vita
- AC: Liberation

And I'm done :P, maybe some pinball tables if one of those games suck

Hmm, tempting, but as previously said it will be an hardcore month release-wise. And one must think about saving money for the Steam sale etc...

Buuuttt...
Little King Story
Ragnarok Odyssey
Zero Escape

Tempting. Would have been godlike if Persona 4 was in October. I could see myself passing on one of the first two I listed.

Well, looking for some vita games put

Ragnarok Odyssey
Assassin's Creed III: Liberation
Jet set Radio
Virtue's Last Reward
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Street Fighter X Tekken
New Little King's Story

On my radar. Chances are though that There are only 2 big name games I want in DD format. I don't see the point in getting a single player game in DD just to take up space. Ragnarok, SFxT, And NFS seems to be more reasonable to get. I am most likely going to get JSR simply because of nostolgia.

Oh yeah, Little King's Story.

... Yikes, this is actually looking absurdly easy to accomplish even when disregarding PS3 pre-orders.

ehhhh

Newegg already gave me a $10 off on all my vita preorders. + $15 off all 59.99 ps3 preorders as well. I'm limited to pretty much dlc, psp games and psone games that work on the vita.

=( its going to be hard to get $100 bucks worth of stuff

Two packs for Pinball Arcade come out in October: one on 17 October and the other on 31 October. In case you guys are into that kind of thing. (I am.)

This is cool, I wish they had a midnight release it would be so much better than waiting for the ps store to update but still very good deal.
