Can't tell in thr swinging shots, but it looked like the costume didn't have embossed webbing

well the cg climbing didn't have it

You can see the Alex Ross suit for a split second - black latex with red shoulders and mask. Black eyes too.
Wow they actually fabricated it

I always liked the idea of organic more than mechanical. It just made more sense considering the fact that he gets all these other spider-powers. Why make the web then?

Spider-Man (2002) < The Amazing Spider-Man
I freakin' loved Raimi's trilogy. Heck, I grew up with it as a giant part of my childhood. I'm pretty sure seeing Spider-Man 2 in theaters was the peak of my childhood. So that being said, I loved the old trilogy a lot and it'll never be forgotten. BUT The Amazing Spider-Man was just soo incredible. Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker is just perfect. It was seriously one of the most heart-warming stories I've ever had the privilege to watch.

wasn't it this first spiderman movie that led the uprising of superhero movies in modern cinema?
For modern movies, I think it was X-Men (which had a huge opening+run for its time) but some attribute it to Blade.

Superman I was Warner Bros' biggest moneymaker until it was replaced by Batman 89, so epic superhero movies aren't really that new. Before blockbuster movies, some superheroes had serial shorts as well.

DC is a very large part of Warner Bros. so it's more than a genre to them. Batman was the only major franchise in the 90s, but they had the cartoon too. Lois & Clark was very popular. Marvel was close to bankruptcy but licensing saved them.

Spider-man wasn't the first successful Marvel movie, but that movie definitely saved Marvel's bacon and attracted them to making more Marvel movies.

I saw the first Spiderman movie on TV the other day. I remembered it being pretty good. I was wrong, it was terrible. I'm scared to watch 2 now.
