I've decided to sell my extra minifigs, as well as some of my older Star Wars minifigs. Where is the best place to do this? eBay? Craigslist?

Dear everyone,
That Tower Bridge price is nuts. Buy immediately. You will not regret that set. Awesome build and great moc pieces. And over 4000 bricks for less than $200 now.

I think someone took over my body and ordered this. And I was already planning on going to the Lego store after work and get the haunted house with my 10% off coupon. Spending almost $400 in one day on Lego? I need to join a support group.

So hard to decide...Not a ton of money to spend at the moment, but...

E: $7 cheaper to buy at Walmart after tax. :| Cannot decide. Trigger pull or wait.

Ordered the LOTR Helms Deep and Mines of Moria today! Hoping to pick up Weathertop (or multiples!) in the future, the design looks really clever. Really hope they give the theme the same coverage/attention as SW, there's a lot of things they can do with it.

You remind me of a young me... which by young I mean earlier this year.

Nothing for me today, but October will bring the B-wing and the Winter Cottage, and then December will have the 6 (or more) Hobbit sets.

Actually, Amazon is just matching some Walmart prices, but Walmart has really good prices on a bunch of other sets.

Tower Bridge is actually cheaper at $187

Yikes, glad I ordered when I did, I initially had the Shuttle Expedition in my haul as well, but had a meeting, and upon returning found it out of stock.

DiseasedYak: you are insane and I wish I had that much money. Much love!

Everyone else that dove in with that sale: enjoy the amazing sets. You will not be disappointed.

As for me, I am sitting at work(on break mind you) with an email confirming my Haunted House was delivered. Big problem: I won't get home til 8pm and the office will be closed, so I won't be able to get it. Grrr.

Sucky! That's the next set I'm starting on, it's been sitting in a corner at my apartment for a week, waiting on my table to be delivered so I can work on it. Hopefully tonight!

SCORE! Maintenance man was working in the apartment clubhouse late and went and got my package for me. Haunted House time tonight, and then at 10pm I watch Elementary and laugh into the night!

Okay, haunted house bag 1 is annoying. You build all the interior trinkets now and set them aside to add in later? Lame. You should build them when they are needed during the course of the build, just like any other set. The main house better be good.

Man, if I had ANY money to spend at the moment I would totally get the Grand Emporium or Pet Shop.

Pay day not for another 2 weeks, but what a GLORIOUS pay day it will be!

One of my friends called me the recently and asked if I was interested in taking his son's Lego collection. Apparently the boy just started high school and wasn't interested in them anymore. Not knowing what was in store for me, I said yes. I ended up with several boxes full of loose pieces and partially assembled sets along with a separate box full of instruction books. Mostly Castle and Knight's Kingdom but some other stuff including Harry Potter, Exosquad, and a few others. It's kind of overwhelming.

Quick question for Australian Lego Gaffer:

My mate has a spare Series 8 DJ mini fig that he doesn't need. He was wondering if anyone would be interested in swapping or buying it off him. Just pm me if you're interested.

Cheers all.

About to start mine. Do you recommend just opening all the bags or going the numbered route?
I usually go numbered. Easier to stagger the build, put away when bedtime, and it doesn't take up as much table space at a time. And makes it a less tempting target for cats.

Paging Dr. Forrester to tell you to man up and mix the bags.

Second floor of Haunted House done, and I am calling it a night. I shall finish it up after work tomorrow, then decide if I want to try and make a fence to go around the entire structure at some point.

So far, this is a REALLY cool build. Coming off of all of the modulars, doing a building in this style is very, very different. The hinge aspect of it is neat but also makes it slightly off angle all the time. Maybe it just needs to be broken in. I also do not like building all the interior details first, then adding them in later. I much prefer how the modulars and, well, any other set do it: build the structure, then add the details in when you actually get to that step.

But so far, this is a set that is delivering on the hype in the appearance department.

Walmart has lowered prices AGAIN!

Death Star is now $336 and Modular Buildings are now $111!

I just picked up Grand Emporium and Pet Shop. I was going to get GE next month at the Lego store in Nashville but I cannot pass up those prices. So I saved about 100 bux or close to it. So now my list for the Lego store will be:

Winter Village: Cottage House
Imperial Shuttle
Tower Bridge

Wish I could have gotten tower bridge from Walmart....

Lego mania has struck our house now that my daughter has the bug (and I do too, if I'm being honest :) )

I traced a bundle of missing bits, so she now has complete kits for:

6959 Spyrius Lunar Launch Site
7141 Naboo Fighter
6538 Rebel Roadster
6815 Explorien Hovertron

...as well as a growing assortment of minifigures, and her Tripod Invader. She's saved her pocket money to get Gandalf Arrives next week, and we've got her the Alien Mothership set for her birthday tomorrow.

Christmas is going to bring the more recent Droid Escape set, as well as the Dino Defense HQ, which brings me to a question for Lego-Gaf:

I've been looking up MOCs and dioramas, and messing about with the Lego Digital Designer with the idea of building a landscape for her Dino Defense HQ to be ready for her at Christmas. I've worked out the placement of the HQ by building it in LDD and decided that I can make a reasonably large and attractive landscape for her to play on with a pair of the 48x48 baseplates, and I'm building it up in LDD so I can work out exactly what I need to buy to make it.

Does anyone have any tips or links for inspiration? I've checked out Classic Castle for advice and examples, and I love the work done here - http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=60907 - but I've not seen anything specific to the Dino theme.

I'm thinking of adapting the landscaping advice to try and make a small-ish jungle area. The HQ fits on one baseplate, with a few studs-width on one side so there's just enough room to build that, add some vegetation and connect it to the next plate. The HQ will be raised around 4 or 5 levels from the base to give it height and let me build a slope down from the entrance to the next baseplate to give it some visual interest, then the second plate will be a mix of low scrub and some larger trees. I had wondered about incorporating a river, but it would be a bit too much on a single base so I think I'll make a river bank and leave space to connect to a third plate in the future.

Does anyone have any pictures or links of something similar?

That guide was what inspired me, so you're on the right track. Really, I just like getting inspiration from other peoples MOCs. My biggest one that I built was an Arkham Asylum. I saw someone else's version and used it for some inspiration and expanded on their ideas. I'd also suggest that you just start laying bricks and going with your instincts. Don't get bogged down in the large picture of what you want to accomplish. Half the battle is getting started and not feeling overwhelmed.
