Hello, Diseased Yak. My name is PeteZaTheHutt. I haven't purchased a LEGO set in almost 3 months. Hey, I did get double points on some of those, plus free shipping on quite a bit, but others were purchased on clearance at Target and such. They're also compiled over the last 2 months or so. I've been in the middle of a move, don't have a decent place to build, and have been waiting on a table and chairs.

That finally happens Wednesday, and I'll get to building, woot!

I just can't stop buying :(

Oh my lord. I have only watched the first 20 seconds, but I thought the first thing you were building was the middle layer, the widest point of the set... .and then you added the actual middle layer and I learned the set did indeed start with the bottom.. I would love to be able to afford this lego.

Edit:....oh dear. That wasn't the widest point either. MONSTROUS.

Is that another teaser for the game?

Really hope the LOTR theme continues. With the Hobbit now as a multi-film franchise TLG could easily get this on the same tier as Star Wars.

Been out of the Lego scene for a few months; how did the most recent round of Star Wars sets turn out in turn of quality and whatnot? Specifically looking at probably The Malevolence, R2-D2, and the Republic striker Starfighter, any impressions or anything? Ideally I'm looking to pick up the SSD, but that may or may not happen short-term.

Edit: Wait, why is the SSD $359 right now on Amazon? Are they price-matching a sale or something? If it stays that way for a few more days.....hm.

Just saw the email saying VIPPERS can get the Winter set early or they can choose to wait and get double VIP points from the 1st October. I know which one I'm going for.

Striker is nice, really like how the wings fold in, and the mini figs are fantastic. The TOR mini figs are a highlight for me

I just got myself Mill Village Raid for my birthday! I have always wanted this set. I could not find it near me last Christmas, but saw it today. I really only get myself Lego sets on my birthday and Christmas, but I am really excited when I do. This one looks really fun.

I just got the same email. Pretty sweet that they are offering early access to VIP'ers, but I can wait until Double Points.

Oh, yes. The set is a beast. It just keeps growing and growing. Basically to the point that it is tough to build while sitting because it gets so high. The biggest area (middle layer) is the most fun and involved build too. The Emperor's Throne Room is great, but the cell block looks great when done. I think my favorite and least favorite part of the entire set is the super laser. It is an incredible repetitive step, but the way it all folds into a flower type shape for the dish is so awesome.

I think I'm gonna go for the early access actually. Being in Australia shop@home is pretty useless so VIP points aren't that big of a deal. The only problem is if they randomly offer free shipping for us in October...

I've just ordered from the official Lego store for the first time for the Batman Funhouse set and well I didnt realise it would be sent from the Netherlands. Anyone from the UK been charged customs when ordering Lego from there?

edit - nevermind, I'm an idiot.

My Lego store in Colorado Mills is awesome. They got bored and figured out which minifigs are which for the latest series and got some sorted behind the desk. Got the DJ, Robot, Conquistador and Pirate. Also bought the Halloween minifig collection...this is why I'm a regular.

Hell yes. Set that precedent Lego, and then give me a brand new Star Destroyer and falcon. You know they want to, they see how much money they are going for. I'll buy all three

Not sure how much they could improve on the falcon, but the SD could definitely be better

I put together Mill Village Raid last night. Pretty cool set. I just wish they had more stuff going on in the bigger building. Kind of plain inside.

The Bricktober event at ToysRus will be running the entire month of October. Each week during the month, they will be giving away one of the Vintage Minifigure Collections (V1 to V4) with qualifying purchase (rumor is that the threshold is $60).

Argos in the uk has 3 for 2 on all toys, including Lego. In store items only but you can reserve online. They have things like battle of helms deep and the recent friends sets.

Welp finally used my 10% off coupon today and I ended up with the Haunted Mansion over Fire Brigade. If I did my math right, don't I save more if I buy Haunted Mansion now with 10% off and VIP points and get Fire Brigade in a week with double VIP points rather than the other way around? It seemed like there were three on the shelf of the Fire Brigade which should be plenty to hold out for a week I think. I got the better deal right?
