Yeah it's pretty annoying how slow the trickle of updates for iPhone 5 has been. The only ones I own that havve been updated are Temple Run and Zombieville 2. I would have thought some of the more popular games e.g. Flight Control, Peggle, Canabalt, Super Hexagon etc. would have been updated by now. The letterboxing has really put me off playing some games, particularly Super Hexagon as it's a lot trickier as a result.I figured most developers would have iPhone 5 resolution support more quickly, but I guess Apple didn't officially confirm what everyone knew until not long before launch.
And...
Super Monsters Ate My Condo is a big, fat dud for me. "Insulted" is the best way to describe how it makes me feel. You have to pay gold each and every time you want to use boosts. Laughable piece of shit. It's obvious there are folks here who are lovin' it -- hey, my wife think it's great. Of course, she watches Glee, so her tastes are...
Anyway, I think it's an insulting way to update the original game. Charging people to effectively limit their experience of the game.
Yeah, I bought this because it looked cool... then I realised. The same thing killed Phoenix HD in the latest update for me as well.It really sucks in high score games too because you never know when exactly you're going to have an awesome round and beat your previous high score. Having to designate each round as a grinding round or a scoring round really limits your chances of scoring high.
I could be remembering wrong but I'm pretty sure SuperPac was just critical of a similar power up structure in Rock Band Blitz. I'm not sure how involved he was with SMAMC but it's funny/ annoying to see an AS game release a week later with the same system.

Comic Zeal vs Comic Glass... is there a preferred solution?
I had almost forgotten how FREAKING AMAZING is Chapter 4 in The Last Express (where the real game begins and you start to have a clear target).
It's definitively still unparalleled IMHO.
No way the whole real time thing could be made in other technical ways, not even today IMHO.
So many dialogues to eavesdrop, what an incredible experience.
I could sit in the smoking room or in the restaurant for hours, cutscenes after cutscenes.
Or just use Cloudreaders & have no problem with file numbering conventions, it just works. It's FREE too.I am a Comic Zeal fan. Comic Glass was displaying some of the pages out of order for me even though they were named properly and sequentially. I tried Zeal after that and am happy with it. Zeal is definitely the deluxe package though. Some things are still a little confusing to do in it
I know, but those are newer ones. I mean their older games like Starfront, original Nova, etc.
So, I'm finally jumping back to the iPhone. Leaving my Galaxy S2 for the iPhone 5. I know of the usual must have games. fruit ninja, jetpack joyride, infinity blade, etc etc. But since I my iPhone 4, I've been outdated with new games. So which of these do you recommend?
Super Hexagon
Camera+
Hipstamatic
zenoform
contre jour
zoo battle
ski safari
olo
sword and sorcery
zombieville usa 2
fieldrunners 2
asphalt 7
agent dash
Thanks for the future responses and suggestions!![]()
Out of that list I'd say super hexagon, ski safari, fieldrunners 2, and contre jour.
Btw camera+ is not a game![]()
I prefer ComicGlass. Never had any problems with pages being displayed out of order like mentioned above, but the dev is good at updating with improvements and bug fixes. You won't go wrong with either though. I'm Satisfied with Glass but I'm going to check Cloudreaders too since it's free, hadn't heard about about it before.I think I'm undecided because Glass is universal and has been updated for iPhone 5...
whoops. forgot to take that out. haha. been compiling a list of games and camera apps.
wow that list was reduced.![]()
If you don't have it yet, Sword and Sworcery is really really good. I personally didn't enjoy it that much but it'a universally acclaimed. Asphalt 7 is actually pretty good for a gameloft game and only a buck. Zombieville 2 is fun and I'd definitely recommend it if you like the Castle Crashers/Side-scrolling fighting genreto make that list a little bigger again
From the other games already mentioned, I can't say much about contre jour or fieldrunners, but super hexagon is AMAZING and ski safari is pretty good too.![]()
I think bookshelf look on Glass looks slicker, and for what it's worth you can automatically read the next volume on it too. Universal Glass is cheaper and was just updated for the iPhone 5 display so that currently gives it an edge imo (I don't think it will take long for Zeal to get an update though). In any case, both are excellent and offer the necessary settings for a comfortable experience.ComicZeal for me: the presentation is beautiful, also easy to sort and display your collections and I like the option to automatically read the next volume.
Good motion controls, cool pixel art and a surprisingly impressive sense of speed. I really like this game.
loving DJMAX Ray. sure it's not universal but I can't imagine using my thumbs to play it on iPad (which I feel it was designed to be played this way). bought the music pack for $10 which isn't bad considering I've imported the PSP version for over 50 bucks in the past. highly recommended if you like DJMAX, it's built for touch controls and a nice way to play on the go.
I've been trying, for the past few months, to get ComicZeal's & CloudReaders developers to create an Air Video Server style app to add to their repertoire.I think bookshelf look on Glass looks slicker, and for what it's worth you can automatically read the next volume on it too. Funny thing about this off-topic comics talk coming up is that this week I started reading them on an iPad instead of the phone/computer and I'm so happy, haha. Can't wait to get out of work to keep playing with the thing.
It was. Tried it again on the iPad, terrible.
what are the anticipated iOS games coming out for the rest of the year?
Baldur's Gate.
Wargames!! And then Puzzle Craft. Wargames has the better gameplay though imo.

is that infinity blade spin off game coming out this year?

Heroes call isn't half-bad and quite generous with the recharge mechanism from what I remember. Heroes vs Monsters is a lot of fun, too.
Infinity Blade Dungeons is quickly becoming Vaporware at this point.
