Ohohoho that line at the end. Interesting.
While the conclusion seemed a bit... abrupt, I liked this arc. Probably my favorite one out of the bunch. The melodrama felt just right and I thought each character handled the situations presented to them rather convincingly through out these few episodes. Still iffy on Heartseed especially with how
. I felt like each main character, even Aoki, had some significance to this arc which I appreciated. All in all, I'm still enjoying this show for what it's worth. Still one of my favorite shows to come out of the summer season though can't say for sure if it'll end up being a favorite by the end of the year.

Honestly, the rise of the SAO OT does not seem to have redirected discussion much.
I would say it wasn't very effective. I'll continue it regardless and say that I've never seen LOST.

Wow, this was a really impressive first episode on all counts. In fact one of the best I've seen in quite some time. Others have already touched on a couple really great things about this episode, the non linear storytelling, the quality of direction, etc, but one thing I found really engrossing about it was the incredibly oppressive atmosphere present throughout the episode. All parts of the production really tie into this feeling of unease and uncertainty with what is happening. The music, the direction, the art(I particularly liked what they were doing with the varying color usage), all work together in cohesion. I was completely hooked into all the details as the episode progressed. The episode peels away some small layers of the story and characters, and all the while the audience is really left in this state of suspense. Everything felt very mysterious, it really gets you into the mindset of Saki in terms of how she felt and what she was thinking. I really like what they were doing with the myths and rumors being passed around as well, they really tied into what was going on in the episode. The bridge one was particularly neat as the switched up the art and animations style for that section.
Really lived up to my hype for it. Absolutely can't wait to see more.

From The New World #1 - Loved the opening, the direction did a good job of executing the unsettling mood it was aiming for. Will be interesting if we see more sequences similar in tone to that, later on in the series, because it's easily my favorite scene in the episode.
Rest of the episode was pretty damn good too, I'm liking the mix of supernatural and science-fiction in it's world-building, and it's portrayal of religion gives me off a sense of superstition in a number of the events, there's clearly something "off" going on here. In fact the sense of mystery is very strong, and while I'm not particularly invested in the characters so far yet, I'm very intrigued on what exactly is going on with the "plot" at this stage.

Yeah, this is something that isn't entirely obvious, especially given the title. Non-mecha fans may well go "I don't really like robot shows, so I wont watch this" but in reality robot action takes up about 2% of the whole OVA series.

. Anyway I'm not wholly impressed so far, although the editing in the intro section was indeed very sharp. I actually didn't have a problem with the terminology and I thought the show has been pretty easy to follow.

Pretty good. I like the direction of this episode much more than the original series. Hopefully it will remain as good and not turn into something similar to the show (although it wouldn't be as bad as the show turning into something boring).
The CG wasn't bad actually, especially during the action. It was when stuff slowed down that the ugliness would appear, but what are you gonna do.
