I've not read it in great detail. I think you have some valid points. For example, I agree that a comparison can be made with people who often assume that Jesus = white. But I did step back a little when you said "black folks" and "white man's creation". Probably could have phrased a lot of it in a less inflammatory way.. I do see some of your core points overall; whether they are refutable i've not got the time or energy to really find out. I'll leave it up to others to debate/judge.

Anyway, i've said too much and it's off topic!

Remember that scene when the timer hit zero in the movie, Independence Day, and the aliens blew all the cities up at the same time. That's how I imagine what is happening here.

I hope you're kidding, because none of the stuff I NEED SCISSORS agreed with was really problematic or bannable. It was, well, everything else in that thread, and a bunch of the followup comments from the OP.

I dunno, inflammatory remarks aside, I just don't want to jump on the "that's racist" bandwagon just yet since i'm a bit ignorant of the history of Egypt. Thread could have been interesting if some history buffs and people willing to devote time to Wikipedia weighed in to tell it how it really was.

Ah but that was the point of me making the thread. Wiki leads you to believe the nubian kings came in during the decline whereas alternate sources now lead me to believe that Khufu and the other chaps of the old kingdom were black. Therein lies the contradiction between what we believe and what may have been.

i try to avoid controversial threads like that, and even commenting on the existence of the thread seems to be likely to get you in trouble these days. I understand it, but it's a freaking minefield.
