Season's Beatings: Ascension | Fighting Game Tournament | Sep 28-30 2012

Remember there are no rounds in Marvel. This isn't like other games where both players would have been awarded a round. Believe me, I would have loved to see Tayson take FChamp down, but it was the right call.

A better analogy would be if you were playing SF4 but set to 1 round, what happens in a draw in that scenario?

well the game screen did say 3-2 after the set finished. so the game didnt award a win for both players on that draw.

Also this.

Wow that set was just something else.

FChamp with the smart stuff... that entire team is pure Zero counter pick. Sentinel on 2nd means he can escape Zero's incoming mix ups and Dorm + Doom individually match up well against Zero with assists.

The MYTHICAL tie in a Marvel game.

it's probably only a win for each in street fighter so they can get you off the machine faster and make more money in the arcade

Damn, that homophobic bullshit is disappointing.

edit: Also - is it true that the game awarded a point to Tayson after the draw? That the end-of-game ticker went from 2-1 to 3-2? If that's the case, the quoted tweet is still right, but Champ should not have gotten his runback.

This is bullshit based on fighting game convention. They should have had 3 judges holding up cards of who they thought should have won the round 3S stylee.

IIRC, in street fighter 2, a draw didnt award a round to either player. so you would get the "final round" / round 4 when a draw occurred in the 3rd round.

edit: the final game screen said 3-2, player 2 (champ)

Marvel does not technically award a win for either player when it's a tie.

I remember in the arcade days when I had my first tie in MVC2. Both me and a player were viciously. It was my Captain Commando against another guy's Sentinel. Match ended with similar health so it was a tie. We both looked confused and excited but then the machine asked for quarters from BOTH of us.

It's win/lose/tie in the stats as well for MVC3. Basically the set score for that game was 3-2-1.

Are you sure? I remember that the draw gave the win to the 1P side at the arcades. Or at my arcades at least.

100% right on that one. We both put in quarters for MVC2.

We have a machine at my local area, I can go check it tomorrow in fact. But I am super sure on this in MVC2.
