When Epic Mickey was just the amazing concept art people exploded when they heard it was Wii exclusive. There was a huge wave of port begging before we had even seen a screenshot.

Finally caught up with that University gun control thread. Tried to debate for a point, gave up because it's manos, kept following it for a bit. Wish I hadn't have given up and watched that. Wow.

Manos you were fun sometimes but you really couldn't ever just take a loss.

Depends. I think if you state a valid reason why and back it up, I don't see how it's really port begging. I think people have said how it would be nice if a game were to be released on Wii U because of a cool use with the tablet.

But just going in and spouting "wtf lol bayonetta on wii u wish it was 360" is begging.

Nah , it was the one where a transgender child with lesbian mothers got their puberty delayed on recommendation of doctors, however the OP decided to present this as " LESBIAN MOTHERS FORCES BOY TO DELAY PUBERTY" (which was actually worse title than even Fox news gave for the story). Lots of people didn't actually read the article and got roped in by the misleading and inflammatory topic title, the rest were people who read the story but were, you know offensive and rude about their differing opinions on the subject. It was a freaking massacre.

Basically it's when discussion about a game gets derailed into griping about platform choice, or when a person's interest in a game or series seems to be predicated on gloating or complaining about the platform choice.

Personally I try to avoid moderating for it unless it's really a full-on console war mud-sling, but sometimes people when a lot of people do minor, "I hope it gets an Xbox Vita release" level stuff it derails the whole thread.

You're pretty much right. Basically if a person is making even the slightest effort to discuss how platform choice affects the product, that's much better than just whining about it.

Damn I guess everyone I quoted got a first hand preview of it going down. But port begging over that game before even seeing a pic?lol. The others I could see especially the FFXIII and DQ one, square-enix cost some lives that day.

Also Dragona? I heard someone mention that name before but i'm gonna guess she/he isn't around anymore.

I dont know if that was THE origin of it, but it would not surprise me if it turned out to be. It was pretty nasty. That or i imagine the FF13 X360 announcement would also be a contender.

Eh, that's not really port begging because the version that was originally announced was still coming to the system it was announced for.

But the meltdowns...glorious. Absolutely glorious. I think it's my favorite GAF memory.

This is pretty much the golden rule. Don't do things that are stupid and you don't have to worry about breaking the TOS.
