New arrival at my place.

Back to pouring over the Lego website!

My son would go NUTS for the Fire Brigade...

Yup. It is a must buy. And if you don't get it now you will regret it later. Town Hall will be here for another year at least. Most likely longer.

My Walmart order came in last evening and they were both in huge individual boxes. The one looks like the tape has popped off the one side while shipping but I believe everything is intact.

Also I am in debate about getting Haunted House. Since it just came out I am assuming it will be still there this time next year correct? Its not a limited time thing right?

I'll be moving into a new house at the end of November. Any advice on moving a large amount if built Lego sets? I am breaking down about half of them and mixing the parts in one giant plastic bin. Monster Fighters Castle, Mad Scientist, Ghost Train, 3 Tripod Invaders, a bunch of misc. Atlantis sets, and the Falcon, Luke's Landspeeder, and a bunch of Clone War sets. I'll rebuild all those later. I still have all my modulars, Batman, Avengers, PotC, and Harry Potter stuff assembled.

No idea how I'm going to transport this stuff. I'm moving the family myself and it's about 10 minutes away on the other side of town. I'm open to suggestions!

I've found that there is no good way. I'm moving apartments later this month and intend to just set my SSD in the back seat of my car and walk it in. For the modulars, you may be able to just separate the floors and box them with some packing material, but otherwise, you're likely going to have a tough time with this.

Would be interested in other opinions, though!

I recently moved, so I can comment I guess. The way I did it was to hand-move the more sensitive pieces (like the VW Van). Others I packed into boxes with copious amounts of towels, folded sheets, etc. for padding. Everything made the move fairly intact. At the time I didn't have anything huge like the SSD. My next move is gonna be... interesting.

My daughter's birthday is at the end of October, and my wife came up to me the other day and said that we should make a trip to the LEGO store and our daughter can pick out whatever set she wants along with a large PAB cup. My eyes widened considerably and I told her that would be perfect timing because it's double VIP in October! She quickly realized the horrible mistake that she had made and silently shot me that look... that look that most of us here with a wife or SO are intimately familiar with... that "you do NOT need any more LEGO" look. Fortunately, that look no longer has any effect on me...

So the plan is to get the following, all with double VIP:

Star Wars B-Wing
Star Wars Jabba's Palace
Modular Town Hall
Minecraft (if they finally have it in stock)

My daughter is not sure which set she wants the most from the following list:
Ninjago Epic Dragon Battle
Ninjago Samurai Mech
Friends Summer Riding Camp

And I have a feeling that my wife will get a set for herself, most likely the large Hogwarts Castle. I gave her Diagon Alley several months ago and she loved putting that together.

Disassemble. Box em up. Rebuild!

I disassembled a number of sets for my move this past month and some of them were kind of annoying. In particular I hate any set that has you stack a plate on top of a plate of same size, it's hell on the fingers after you do a bunch of those in and amounts pulling entire sets apart.

It's time. Hitting the LEGO store today. Hoping to come away with Haunted House and B-Wing. Is the Winter Cottage out yet?

Winter Cottage is available to my knowledge. Also, very intrigued by the B-Wing. It looks OK, but it doesn't scream UCS to me. :\ Thoughts/opinions once you get it!

There isn't a whole lot they could have done with it too make it more elaborate than it is I think. It's just a simple design, so you got two halves that are essentially same put together. It's a very big ship once put together though, much larger than your standard sized Lego SW fighter craft. Wing span is 15" but the length is about 26" or so, and comes with the stand for display and plaque.

I guess that's true. I'm comparing this to the SSD and my eventual Death Star, so I'm biased. ;)

E: And the fact that I am very neutral on Star Wars in general doesn't help - I don't really know the ships or sets well enough to really appreciate a LEGO creation outside of how much ass it kicks on display.

Hitting the Nashville LEGO store Friday. I gotta keep it under $100 and I don't know which set I want to get...

* Mini Modulars
* Winter Cottage
* Shuttle
* Vampire Castle

I'm leaning towards the Mini Modulars since you can only get them at the LEGO store...but I don't know...

Ugh, I need it to last until the end of the year. This worries me though.

Walmart pulled the listings for a lot of the sets that were on sale last week, probably just for their own convenience. The sets are still there (though OOS), you just need to have the exact link.

I am going to be in Nashville on the 15th. Would it be possible for you to check out the place and tell me if the sets I want are there or not?

Star Wars Imperial Shuttle
Tower Bridge
Winter Cottage
Haunted House

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was just there earlier this week. My memory is horrible but I know for sure they have the Haunted House because that's where I got mine. I'm also 90% positive they had the Winter Cottage and Tower Bridge. I didn't see the Imperial Shuttle but they had the SSD and a beat up Death Star box on display.

Pro-tip: If you've never been to The LEGO Store at Opry Mills park near the food court and go in that entrance. Go right from there and the LEGO Store will be on your left a little ways down.

I would totally do this if the disassembly process wasn't a SUPER bitch on these big sets.

imho, chilling back on the sofa with something good on tv, two brick separators and a large bin for the pieces its no problem...

the other two are for friends :)

Less voting. Less entries. I think we need to give the MOC contests a lil breathing room after this. Maybe a post holiday one. This one just seemed to slip in without notice.

Less voting? Less entries? How do you want to enforce people not entering a creation? Wait, that doesn't make any sense.

I was meaning in relation to the first contest. My wording was odd. Sorry.

I was referring to the fact that the second contest had less entries than the first, and less traffic in general. It took people a while to vote in the first one, but the new one feels like a graveyard. I think we should give a breather between contests next time, because I think this one just kind of snuck in compared to the freshness of the first one.

Although, the entries in this one were much better than the first one. Even if there were less.

Ahh, I get it now. This one has less entries I think because it was a much more difficult set to work with. I can't really explain the lack of votes though; a week is probably way too short.

I think another reason is that quite a few of the posters from the first thread couldn't find this set in stores.

It seems as though there are a ton of spoilers for the Ninjago cartoon show revealed here. I personally don't care, but I've been watching the show with my daughter and I don't think that any of these scenarios in the descriptions have happened yet. Most of it sounds fairly generic, but I know for sure that Lloyd is the Green Ninja right now and there hasn't been any mention of him becoming a Golden Ninja. Yes, I am a loser.

I watch the cartoon with my son, and yes there are some spoilers in these product descriptions. Ninjago doesn't get much of a reception with the older crowd, so I didn't consider spoiler-tagging the descriptions.

As far as the cartoon goes - this all starts in Episode 20.

After getting Mill Village Raid, I have decided to go about slowly putting together some of my old Castle sets to join it. I just wish I would have started putting them back in their boxes earlier in my life. All my old Dragon Master sets and stuff like that ended up in one big box. I loved those. I may try and put some of them together too if I feel ambitious. One room in my house will just be inhabitable while I make a big room of Castle sets.
