Romney doubled down on proven lies from the convention and threw in a pair of concrete shoes for Big Bird. Going to be interesting how the media portrays it.

sad to say i think romney won this. obama needed to be more assertive and direct and needed to call mitts shit out. dude look flat out tired

As an unbiased independent, my opinion is that Romney won this one. He took it to Obama hard and looked sharp. Obama was on his heels through most of this.

How accurate is this revised electoral map Mr. Middle America

he wasn't but if you were following the politics Romney was spewing during his run up to being the republican candacy. He basically just did a 360 on a lot of the policies he was promoting or pretending to have. I honestly still have no idea how he's going to accomplish any of his set goals by doing what he says. Closing loop holes will not solve the deficit with out cutting military spending and cutting federal funding with out raising taxes

That's the biggest thing for me. He just continues his trend of flip flopping. Obama seemed to be trying to be nice.

I called Romney winning this debate. I'm calling it now, this time next week the polls will be tied.

Yeah, I'm not sure you're very familiar with the effect of presidential debates on the polls. Especially not ones as boring and unimpressive as the one we just watched. Both candidates looked like fucking garbage; the most talked about points after this debate are going to be the moderator and Big Bird.

Romney had the better debate but when the fact checks come out he'll be having nightmares.

That is if anyone actually gave a shit about facts in this country...

Obama didn't mention 47% once. I guess they want to save it for the attack ads? Also he never refuted the 718 billion Medicare cut line

I feel Romney did great but Obama played it very safe

They'll save it for the ads and for the last debate. It will be the last thing you remember.

Romney won. Not by much, but he won.

Yup. For those saying well there will be fact-checking to even that out- the reality is that this debate format isn't about facts or specific policies. Theyve become more about how candidates come across and how they speak/present themselves in front of a national TV audience. The fact checking won't reach even close to the percentage of people who watched the debate, and in this sense Romney clearly won.

That being said, such a slim "win" doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things. In the end, the most important thing for Obama was not getting KO'd or screwing up majorly, which clearly didn't happen- he was fine.

I thought this format would make a more interesting debate but they ended up just rambling on and not saying much of worth. The format made it harder for Jim to enforce rules and he was a terrible moderator.

It was boring overall as I expected and said.

Romney did a good job at spinning his position, Obama presented his position but didn't do a good job at spinning.

I liked Romney's arguments about the economy. I honestly thought he did better than Obama there.

Absolutely detested his stance on medicare though. It really came across as, "Old people, you don't have to worry. Younger people, oh boy are you fucked and I'm not going to tell you how bad yet."

Obama really nailed home the point that Romney doesn't seem to have a plan.

wow maddow wont say that obama won

obama must have gotten blown out

I think you are missing the point. I think the point from Obama's end was to prevent any game changers. It worked. Romney may gain some ground, but it will not last.
