I decided to watch Looper instead of watching the debate. What did I miss, Gaf? I am reading on this page that Romney did better than expected, and Obama was lackluster. Is that about right?

As an unbiased independent, my opinion is that Romney won this one. He took it to Obama hard and looked sharp. Obama was on his heels through most of this.

Mitt spoke really well, but was spouting all bullshit. Where the fuck was Obama's fire? He sleepwalked through the whole thing.

To the average man, Mitt looked awesome. But to anyone will half a brain and checking facts...

Eh, I'm a big Obama supporter but I thought he looked pretty weak tonight. Answers weren't sharp, too many pauses & ums... I know that really doesn't matter in the scheme of things, but as for a presentation at a debate it was less than stellar.

I think you are missing the point. I think the point from Obama's end was to prevent any game changers. It worked. Romney may gain some ground, but it will not last.

The gamechanger is that Mitt Romney is competent. He has not looked competent heretofore. He looked presidential tonight, which, regardless of who "won," is something he has never done before.

I don't think Romney will win, but this was very damaging.

doesn't Obama lead all swing state polls by a decent margin? Don't think the debates will make a huge difference, even though Romney edged out this debate.

I think Romney certainly appeared more confident.

What I liked most was that they both interrupted the moderator so much, and at times, a debate accidentally broke out.

I don't see anyone here mentioning how Romney's whole fucking family came up on stage at the end. Did everyone else's stream cut out or something?

Romney spoke well, looked credible, but Obama wins for content and criticism. I expect Romney will "win" for his performance.

Why are they arguing about how Americans should pay for medical services. They should be argueing how best to implement Universal Healthcare :p

What's even more funny is when Romney was talking about how the worst time to implement a healthcare initiative was during a financial crisis. The United Kingdom implemented Universal Healthcare when financially bankrupt and having been absolutely destroyed from WWII.

Apparently America doesn't have the same balls as the UK :p

Romney won. Not by much, but he won.

I agree.

Obama is getting my vote because I think his ideas (if he could get even the smallest amount of support from the Republican party) work. And I'd rather have him as President.

Romney is a better debater...and presented arguments against Obama's decisions very well.

The problem though, is that all Romney did was say "this sucks" and he didn't say "this is what I would do"

I think Romney won the night though.

Obama needed to attack. He didn't and that's why he looked weak and conciliatory. If you don't call Romney out of course he's going to win. Meanwhile Romney hammered Obama on vague policies without referring to specifics the entire night.

romney did a great job debating, but with the GOPs track record these last 12 years it's hard to trust one of those people again.
