Deadpool really, REALLY wants to be in another book. Also, Blade's training dummy looks strangely familiar...

Why would gorilla man even have to bother with the screening? He's been down with the xmen for a while, hasn't he? I mean he's no deathlok or blade.

I'm going a different way then all you story-obsessed crackpots, and instead gonna go ahead and proclaim that Ryan Stegman will be drawing the relaunched ASM in January.

The man is a superstar artist in the making. The powers that be realized that he was simply TOO good for some secondary Spidey book like Scarlet Spider, and he should be drawing the big headliner titles. They already gave him a stint on the Fantastic Four, and now he's going to ASM. They did they same thing when they realized Jerome Opena was god in artist's form on Uncanny X-Force, and now he's drawing Hickman's flagship Avengers.

Gee, what are some other predictions you'll make?

Water is wet and the Sun will rise in the East tomorrow? :P

Hitting funnybook shop tomorrow.

What do you guys think of Ultimate Black Panther?

I always thought that issue was interesting. Black Panther is more like Snake Eyes there, which is never a bad thing.

Although that's not the most hype homage of that Zeck cover I've witnessed.

GOD DAMN! I SAID GOD DAMN!

...If Blade, Werewolf and company don't get the job, I demand a new midnight sons book.

please don't forget about my favorite corner of the marvel u ;_;

I had this Chamber doll when I was little that you could pull a cord on his back and would create a little spark beneath the orange fire coming out of his mouth. I thought he was the coolest.

...apparently it was only me.

Having read the entirety of the 12 series, can you seriously claim that the Phoenix 5 were in complete control of their actions ? We can argue all day whether being host to the Phoenix compares to numerous other incidents which result in supers not acting out of their own voilition but Marvel editorial certainly intended them to be sympathetic

Scott associated the Phoenix with the reintroduction of Hope in his timeline and the reactivation of the x gene. Claiming that he nakedly wanted the power for himself to set himself up as a power hungry despot is laughable.

It's no less laughable than suggesting that the Phoenix Force deprives you of free will or that Scott Summers, who has suffered more than anybody, save Jean Grey, the harm the Phoenix can do, would suddenly and inexplicably decide that the entity which has for 40+ years tormented him, and is currently burning a trail of death across the universe is going to come and restart his dying species.

In fact, it isn't laughable at all, since as soon as Scott and the P5 took control of the Phoenix, what did they do? Oh yeah, they locked up Earth's Mightiest Heroes and began to rule as despots, violating sovereignty left and right. You cannot honestly argue that the Phoenix was in control, when Jean Grey, wielding 5 times as much Phoenix as the rest of them, never once tried to conquer the world with that power. World domination isn't something the Phoenix cares about, but it certainly sounds like something that Emma Frost, Namor, and people who have been spending too much time with Magneto might want.

Consider: what was going to happen to Hope after she fulfilled her destiny, obtained the Phoenix and restarted the entire Mutant Race with Scott as it's leader? What was Scott planning to do with a teenager who had enough firepower to defeat the likes of Thor after he had rebuilt his so-called Utopia?

for what it's worth he ended up getting his own sneakers from that collab with reebok.

Marc Guggenheim is a disgusting piece f shit. Fuck him for sabotaging the GL movie.
And where can I get those shoes brah?

here is the first set of them

I have no idea where you could buy them. Probably reebok's online store. I would love a pair of those Hydras. The Spidey and Wolverine models are ugly as hell though. I don't know what that is about

And on the subject of ASM, what are the predictions? I'm particularly scared of one where
Spidey gets Ock arms - it fits the metallic look, it fits the hints (Lizard grows/regrows limbs, small ones like that), the one cover where Spidey has the arms wrapped around him, but there's no Ock... there's an article about it somewhere, I don't remember where, though.

Allow me to repeat
http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ5f-XsMc7hcO5LiQB1q5y4lMCXr7mxS8SeFrdGwXJmQl2oXiS2_HH8qBIE I'm gonna go with either Peter gets hit with the Parker particles he drained from Alpha, although that may be a complete red herring, or the New York gets destroyed theory. I really could see that one coming true.

That doesn't seem to fit though, and that wouldn't cause the rage Slott's expecting. Also, the "he kills someone" theory seems to match as well. He keeps trying to avoid the death of others, and with Lizard, he took a proactive approach. Death is another consistent theme, so that's another guess. Also something fans would rage about.

I doubt Slott would go that far, I think it was just someone reading a bit too much into the Doc Ock covers. Doc is gonna do something that's for sure, but I still think
Peter just kills him in cold blood.
Or maybe
he gets turned into some kind of cyborg
if we're going with the metallic idea.

Instead of the blue and red, he'll go black and red. :P

I don't think he'll get the doc ock arms, maybe they'll keep his spider-sense in overdrive like the last issue of ASM

I just want to know why Sue and not Ben or Reed or Johnny. I mean Ben and Reed are avengers so they would make sense and everyone loves Johnny. Not like she doesn't deserve to get a bit of love though.

It is stupid to argue that the P5 were always in total control of their decisions when AvX has shown otherwise. Laughable to believe that a girl that who has time and again shown an affinity for the phoenix force through her power set and actions ? No , I don't see how Scott's faith and belief in the affirmations of his own son who predicted a apocalyptic future timelimes was misplaced. AvX shows Scott living up to his nature and assuming the entire blame but it wouldn't be a stretch if in the future all this is forgotten just like countless other crossovers do for other characters.

And enlighten us to what Scott would have done with a fully powered Hope. To suggest that he would use such power to set himself up as some ruler of all mankind is stupid. I want to know x books you have been reading

Allow me to enlighten you about your argument, if you will. How can Hope control the Phoenix when the P5 could not? She's younger than Emma is, has no experience with dealing with it, and would be handling 5 times as much power as you say took away Emma's ability to act for herself.

Please do not respond with "She's the Mutant Messiah" as that means literally nothing now that we've seen that Hope had the Phoenix for less than any time and needed Wanda's help in getting it and sending it away. The Phoenix helped humanity in the end, sure, but Hope did jack-all to earn the title of Messiah by the end. I would like to know an actual reason why Hope is supposed to be able to handle a force that nobody in the history of X-Men has been able to handle, especially when a fifth of it is too much for a talented psychic like Emma Frost.

Beyond that, I feel not even the slightest compulsion to respond to your questions until you answer mine: What was Scott planning on doing with Phoenix!Hope after she restarted the mutant race?

And you will always be an arrogant

Yes.

unsuccessful

I'm working at changing that. I joke with my friends about how I just as well could have been gay and had the same reaction I got from my family. I come from a guy who I don't know what he did, and a woman who really didn't do much but get married to escape the po-dunk hicktown she was raised in for "the big city".

They didn't know what to do with a kid that wanted to draw. My grandparents at least left me alone with my imagination, butcher's paper, and crayons. Pre-computers. Pre-internet. Pre-cable.

Go to school and win awards for art, get no recognition from the family. Ask to go to an art focused high school, nope! Get out of high school, get pursued by Pittsburgh Institute of Art, nope! Didn't have the grades for scholarships and since my old man told my mom he was sterile (hey, I'm sure that was the olde timey "I can't feel anything" excuse for not wearing a rubber) I was something of an unplanned event.

Fuck man. Making marks on paper is pretty much the only things I've got and the only thing I value. It keeps me sane. No joke, drink and draw is like therapy for me.

And I realize I'm not the baddest motherfucker to walk the Earth, but I know what I can and cannot do and accomplish with hard work. It's the hard work part that I'm trying to get at and not fucking up opportunities like I did in the past when I could have been doing clown work for the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame (LOLOLOLOL).

Folks on neogaf love to throw around "privilege" all the god damn time without taking a moment to reflect on the privilege they're awash in. Got a family that cares? Privilege. Got a family business you can get into? Privilege. Got somebody that's got your back for the rest of your life (or until divorce)? Privilege.

passive-aggressive

I'm working at that. Sadly I can't be overtly aggressive because that involves a crowbar and I'm averse to spending my remaining days as the bottom bitch in prison. D:

Bullshit.

Ivory tower GAF casting aspersions down upon the hoi polloi who live amongst that 13% of the population, rather than just observe it from afar on a chart or a video on youtube.

Yes. :D

But you're my jerkass, TTOB :D

Darn tootin'! At least until I start making money off of drawing, or just off myself. Which has been on my mind an awful lot lately. YAY! Comic books. :|

Your next challenge is to rewrite Prince's "When Doves Cry" to fit Cyclops. :D

Fuck you, TTOB.

Carlo Pagulayan has a book relaunch and deserves your hype, "Mehvel" or not.

Dude is fucking drawing hard. Hard like a diamond hard dick after two hits of amyl nitrate.

Respect the dick. :)

Emma Frost went phoenix or is that poetic license?

Warsong happened, brah. Warsong happened.

the kink in my argument is that off the top of my head I cannot name a real case where the Phoenix ruined things for Rachel, other than her family being mercilessly slaughtered.

Cool cool. Very cool. I wasn't aware of that.
I really like Jimmy Corrigan. I hope this one doesn't take forever to arrive in Brazil.

What might be among the best comics ever created was released this month and it's nowhere to be found in this thread.

It honestly does nothing for me. I appreciate the fact that some people worship it, but to me it's a nice design experiment.

Rock on with your bad self though! Enjoy!

I honestly can't even read Chris Ware's stuff anymore. I've read his Acme Novelty Library issues and then Rusty Brown, and that was enough for me. Both he and Tomine have beaten both their respective themes into the ground, and then dug them up and beat them some more. I love Ware's design sensibility and the craftsmanship quality of his pages, but hell, who wants to read a comic designed to do nothing more than convey utter misery?
