( when he was pretending to be Oberon )

Nah they reconfirmed it in Batman #1 (and revisited it in #12, from Harper Row's perspective.)

As for the second thing, no, I don't remember that happening.

Then why do so many people like Cyclops when he was trusting an entity which has only ever brought him pain and suffering and was at that moment destroying planets on its path to Earth?

Trusting the Phoenix is worse than trusting Galactus, because at least you can TALK to Galactus without having Jean Grey around. Scott put all his money on a thing which had previously blown up a star, helped summon demons to Manhattan, and wreaked all kind of havoc in his life for years.

Worse still is that, rather than trust this force to the one woman who knew what to do with it, he put all his money on a girl who had never before been in contact with it, and about whom he could not with any surety know how she would react.

This thing made innocent Jean into a monster. It made Madelyne into a monster. It made Quentin and the Cuckoos and Emma into monsters at one point or another. Suddenly it's all going to be fine?

So how about Rachel Summers being the host of the Phoenix Force for years without anything happening?

in batman and robin today there was a connection to inc:
the bounty on Damien is still in existence
. So I don't think so. Morrison can do whatever he pleases, it seems, and the rest of the people will keep whatever doesn't outright contradict new 52 canon.

That seems to be the general rule for the nu52 overall

I noticed the only Batman book you need this week has come out: Legends of the Dark Knight: Alan Davis. BOOM! HYPE!

Had a fun time at A&A Comics doing free headshot sketch cards for people. :3

Met some cool folks.

Gratitude immensely appreciated.

Not necessarily. Isn't Bruce still publicly the backing of Batman? Iunno what they have and haven't retconned in Nu52.
You forget, Benjamin, that Joker's like some kinda uber crazy ninja psycho killer now. I bet he's spent the entire year following Batman and his family around with his leet ninja skillz, studying their bathroom habits and skulking under beds and in potted plants.

All without a face.

Alan Davis' (and Mike Barr's) run on Detective comics is one of my all time but wasn't it only like 6 issues? What else is in that hardcover?

I think it's all of the Davis / Barr stuff. The Red Death and a Batman B&W story at the end.

Also I think the book is glued not stitched. :\

I was hella hyping Davis yesterday on his wow-I-Shit-my-pants JiM/Thor crossover work.

Where were you, TTOB! *sobs*

Whaaaat?!

Sorry ever since I started the Marvel/DC embargo I've missed a lot of work from creators I enjoy. :(

Jokers always been crazy.

S'called Everything Burns and Alan Davis has nothing but Agardian greatness to play with. Surtur man. Surtur.

Get with this. Or at least flip though it, if the boycott holds.

The quality to post ratio is fucked up, with AvX getting endless debates, and Epic Asgard nary a peep. So fucked.

Yeah,

I bought the Jim Aparo one and it was glued too. The reproduction quality seemed subpar too. DC is miles behind Marvel when it comes to that kind of thing (except absolute editions it seems).

Yeah, sadly Marvel / DC insist on dust jackets for their hardcovers instead of just a printed cover which is a huge negative for me. Dust jackets = ass.

The Dredd Collection is grinding my gears now and then with double page spread where text is forever lost in the fold / binding. Nothing awful, but annoying in spots. :(

And again. . . Archie seems to be taunting poor Capcpom fans - "BASED ON THE HIT VIDEO GAME SERIES" starburst on the cover of Mega Man. :P

Word. Dust jackets suck, always. I don't understand why they get used at all anymore. I assume they're cheaper? It's just some floppy piece of crap I have to take off and store somewhere every time I want to open the book.

Ugh, that's what I'm doing with my Y: The Last Man HCs

Late to the party here but I've been catching up on DC new 52 and for a DC newb like me it's been awesome. Love Batman, Action Comics, Animal Man, Swamp Thing and my biggest surprise-Batwoman! So great! Justice Leafue is pretty meh so far-any other ones I should be keeping up on? I'm only up to about issue 9 in these series.

Wonder Woman and Aquaman

AvX Consequences: Is this a trap book? Anyone read it?

Walking Dead #102 was it's usual okay-ness.

Next up: some dc zero issues to see if i'm going to continue buying Batman and Robin, Sword and or Sorcery, and Batalon.

demon knights. it is the best and you will buy ten copies. ones I love that are less universally popular include ressurection man, i vampire, stormwatch, and batwing.

So how about Rachel Summers being the host of the Phoenix Force for years without anything happening?

I admitted several pages back that this was the kink in my argument. However:

She hasn't been a full host of the phoenix.

As an alternative to that, Rachel is also the child of Jean Grey and Cyclops and there was a time when talk was made of the Phoenix being her "birth right," whatever that meant. You could make the argument that Rachel was, genetically, a superior host to her mother. No such argument can be made concerning hope.

There's also the fact that, though she never went Dark Phoenix, Rachel did do some screwed up things with the Phoenix. Galactus had to warn her to cut down on using it because she was expending future lives.

So while Rachel never did anything on Scott's watch, she, too, learned how dangerous the Phoenix is the hard way.

If you're new to DC and like current Batwoman, run and buy Batwoman: Elegy. Amazing stuff, it leads up to the current story.

And another thing-I'm really loving Batman and Robin. What's the opinion on Damien as a character because I think he's awesome.

Pretty awesome, but I want more of him being knocked on his ass.

Him "beating" Red Hood and Drake made me roll my eyes so fricking hard.

#12 was definitely awesome though.

Damien loves his Bat-Cow.

It didn't like him at first but he grows on ya.

I hate Robins in general, but I liked Damian and I don't even read Batman. :P

Having him be his own character with a distinct personality (little jerk) made him more engaging to me than a lame child self insertion character that in time gets a personality.

Get over it comic companies.

Nobody wants to be the sidekick, they want to be the hero.

But if the sidekick is a pint sized sociopath, then at least he's interesting. :D
